Chapter 99: Chapter 98 Five Minutes Too Long
"Stop moving," Lucian groaned, muttering curses under his breath. His arms wrapped around her waist, holding her in place.
"Get off me," Olivia pushed him harder, wriggling in his arms. She froze when she felt it twitch. Her mind screamed for her to get out of there. She swore that her face must have turned red like a tomato—the embarrassment was too thick, it was suffocating her poor heart.
Lucian groaned, his eyes shut tight from the torture. "You are the one who is on top of me," Lucian said, but his voice sounded like he was pleading for mercy.
It was then that Olivia realized they had both fallen to the ground and she was lying on top of him.
Olivia blinked innocently at him. "S... something is poking me," she almost cried out, her mind completely blank like a white sheet of paper.
Lucian’s ears turned crimson red. This was so embarrassing. He had no idea why it had chosen now of all times to wake up. Now Olivia was going to think that he was shallow and had no self-control.
"I know... so don’t move. If you move... you’ll have to put him back to sleep," he threatened through his teeth. His gaze stayed on her, he wanted to see if she was going to buy his trick. ’There is no way she is going to believe me,’ he thought to himself.
Olivia cried inwardly. Although she had no idea how to put his thing back to sleep, her instincts told her it wasn’t something she wanted to do now.
Olivia’s tensed body lay on top of Lucian’s. She only nodded her head, her head slowly resting on his chest.
"It’s uncomfortable," she squeaked.
Lucian patted her hair with his palm. "I know, me too."
The erratic heartbeat of Lucian echoed in her ears. It made her loosen up a little bit, knowing that she was not the only one who was nervous.
A satisfied smile curved on Lucian’s lips. He never believed that he would hold her so close in his arms. Warmth surged in his chest.
"Your five minutes is over," she muttered.
"I know, but you can’t leave now—you caused it," he shamelessly accused.
"How was it my fault?" Olivia jerked in anger, moving abruptly, causing his lower part to jerk again. A jolt of electricity was sent flying down her spine, a warm pooling in her lower abdomen.
She quickly rested her head back on his chest.
Lucian groaned, as shivers of sensation coursed through his veins. He bit his lower lip. On second thought, he believed his idea of making her stay was nothing but torture. His grey irises momentarily turned golden before they returned to their normal shade.
The scent of her arousal immediately invaded his nostrils. "Oh f**k this," he cussed under his breath. This was a bad idea—a very bad one. His mind screamed at him. Because right now, he wanted to taste her, to claim her, to make her writhe underneath him. He wanted her to scream his name in ecstasy.
His eyes turned golden again, but this time it was wild. His breath turned labored, as he tried to rein in his control again, but oh, the heavenly smell of her was making it hard to think straight.
Olivia felt a warm pooling between her legs, her body growing hungry for something she didn’t realize she had been starving for. Her mind turned muddled with feelings she didn’t know how to explain—or rather, when she had grown them.
The rich, manly smell from Lucian entranced her to snuggle further into his chest, inhaling his scent as if to brand it into her mind. Her heart had long forgotten its normal pace.
The silence, the tension, and the smell made breathing hard.
Olivia noticed the way his body had stiffened. She could hear the gritting of his teeth. She should be scared, maybe bolt back to her room—but instead, her body responded in ways she couldn’t explain.
She longed for something. She wanted to... no, she needed to be touched. The scorching heat poking her stomach made her body burn. It wasn’t from fever but maybe from something more dangerous than that.
"What were you going to talk to me about?" she asked, trying to distract herself from the turmoil that was swirling inside her.
Lucian inhaled sharply. "Umm... I wanted to talk about... about..." he trailed off. His brain could not think of anything.
Olivia fidgeted with her hand. She didn’t know what to do to stop this feeling that was growing like wildfire through her.
"Can I... can I kiss you?" his low, hoarse voice brushed past her ear, his warm breath making her body shudder.
Olivia’s breath hitched, as her brain processed his question. She quickly scrambled to her feet. A gush of cold embraced her skin as soon as she left his warmth.
"No," she replied back. How could she bring herself to do such a thing?
She stood waiting for him to say something, her eyes darting about the room, avoiding him. Lucian shut his eyes tight, lying on the floor, not bothering to move an inch. He had expected her to refuse his request, but why did her refusal hurt more than it should?
Hearing nothing from him, she turned, her steps hastening to the door. As she reached for the knob, the hoarse voice of Lucian stopped her in her tracks.
"Is it because you are Klaus’ girlfriend?" The question left a trace of bitterness in their hearts.
Olivia swallowed at his question. "It’s half-girlfriend, and yes. I can’t cheat on him," the squeeze in her heart betrayed her. She wanted to kiss him badly, but her conscience bit back at her.
She waited for some response, but she got none. She didn’t know why her chest felt empty as she reached for the door. Maybe it was because she wished she’d say yes. She opened the door, stepping out of the room. But she stopped again—this time with her heart slamming against its cage.
"I want to be your other half-boyfriend." His voice echoed in her head. All the walls of her defense trembled, a second away from crumbling.
