Chapter 86: Chapter 85 Klaus vs Lucian
"Let’s see who deserves to be at Survivor’s Academy," Stefan flew out of the stage, enclosing the battleground with a barrier.
The barrier ripped open, two monsters falling from the tear. They landed with a thud, causing vibration through the ground.
Klaus smiled before activating his system.
[SYSTEM INITIATED: LEX DOMINION ACTIVE]
[Rule Invoked: All aggression must be answered in kind]
A circle of glowing sigils bloomed under Klaus’s feet. The atmosphere shifted, it grew heavy and sharp, like walking into a courtroom moments before sentencing.
"Let’s see how well you fare... under law," Klaus whispered, raising one hand.
[Stat Adjustment: Domain Control – Activated.]
The space around him rippled slightly, like reality answering in submission. "Rule one," Klaus said coldly. "No powers until I allow it."
The monsters stood unmoving, as if a mountain was pressing on them. They didn’t even stand a chance, against Klaus’ power.
And the moment Lucian tried to summon his flames, the ground erupted in chains of white-hot light, binding him to the spot.
"You broke the law," Klaus drawled. A devilish glint flickered through his eyes.
Lucian glared at him before a smirk formed on his lips. He sighed, "I guess you win then," he mused.
Klaus scoffed, "You don’t stand a chance against me, Lucian... If you weren’t after my girlfriend, I would have gone easy on you."
"Guess what?" Lucian mused.
"I’m going to steal her from you. By the way, she doesn’t even love you," Lucian chuckled, but his laugh was short-lived when a fist connected to his jaw.
"Shut your trap. She is mine!" He yelled angrily.
"I will show you what real power is."
[SYSTEM UPDATE: Lex Dominion – Clause 7 Invoked.]
[Temporary Inheritance of Combat Ability — Active.]
Klaus raised his hand toward Lucian. "By right of Lex Dominion... I hereby borrow your flame."
Golden light surged from Lucian’s chest and flow into Klaus’s palm. The crowd gasped as the fire curled up Klaus’s arm.
He turned to the crowd with a mocking bow. "You see? Not even his power is above the law."
Then he snapped his fingers, aiming Lucian’s own flames at him.
But the moment it left Klaus’s hand, it twisted. The fire stopped midair, swirling wildly in the air like a beast.
Olivia bit her nails nervously, seeing Lucian in trouble. She knew this wasn’t only about the battle anymore. It had become personal.
"You shouldn’t have touched it," Lucian whispered, his voice calm but deadly.
The flame reversed and curled around Klaus’s arm like a snake. No matter how Klaus tried to get it off or control it, he was unable to.
A groan escaped his mouth, but it wasn’t from pain, rather from the horrifying realization that his power was alive and had a mind of its own.
The flame attacked Klaus before returning into Lucian’s body.
[SYSTEM ALERT]
[Lex Dominion unable to enforce jurisdiction. Power exceeds universal contract.]
Lucian’s eyes became cold, his jaw tightening with anger. His grey irises turned gold, burning with a wild fiery... Even he was unaware that something had awakened in him.
A massive, invisible pressure filled the space. It was so overwhelming that Klaus instinctively took a step back.
A screen flashed in front of Lucian.
[SYSTEM BOOTING: ..... Unrecognised entity.]

[ALERT: Sovereign Anomaly Detected]
This world does not have permission to bind him.
Lucian’s body trembled. The iron chain holding him down began to shake, making a clunking sound through the battleground.
Klaus stood, completely stunned, but he didn’t believe anyone would be able to break his rules. His breath hitched. The rules were supposed to protect him. But they were easily broken!
As Lucian tightened his fist, golden flames spilled out, spreading through the chains. The earth cracked beneath him. His hair lifted in slow motion, caught in an unseen wind of raw force. His gold eyes flickered with something deeper, like an infinite crimson wrapped in sunlight.
"You thought you could easily win against me with a trick?" Lucian whispered. "You are wrong. I’m not just stronger than your rules, I break them." he drawled.
The snapping sound of the chains filled the air before they melted into liquid. Klaus looked in bewilderment. He couldn’t believe his eyes. His jaw tightened, it seemed like he had underestimated him.
He clenched his fist. "Then let’s see if you can defy everything."
Klaus raised his hand. The circle beneath him expanded, symbols spiraling outward like a living script.
[Rule Amplified: Absolute Retaliation.]
[Clause Added: Any force used against the Lawbringer will be doubled and reflected.]
Energy surged through Klaus’s body. His eyes glowed blue, and the ground responded to his will, as waves spiralled through the air.
But Lucian just laughed, his voice was low, dark, and terrifying.
"You still don’t get it..." His voice cracked like firewood in a furnace. "There’s no law to return when I burn the concept itself."
[SYSTEM ONLINE: SOVEREIGN ANOMALY – ACTIVE]
[Designated Title: Sovereign God]
[Warning: Host is no longer subject to this world’s system protocols.]
[Initiating Manual Override...]
Lucian’s steps was elegant and the same time powerful, the battlefield trembled beneath him, as flames spread from his feet. The golden flames around him darkened as if they remembered something even he had forgotten.
Klaus swung his hand down. "Obey the law...!"
Lucian vanished.
A breath later, he was behind Klaus. Klaus spun too late.
Lucian’s hand grabbed his wrist, his flames surged into the runes etched on Klaus’ arm, and they cracked like glass under pressure before shattering into dust.
"Your rules... are kindling," Lucian whispered.
BOOM.
A burst of golden fire exploded, swallowing both of them. The audience screamed, many shielding their eyes from the blinding inferno. Stefan shot forward and raised another thick shield of force to protect the spectators.
When the light dimmed, Klaus was on one knee, coughing blood, his armor cracked. Steam rose from his shoulders.
Lucian stood a few feet away, completely untouched, his hair drifted like embers in the wind. His gaze wasn’t angry... it was ancient, and detached. Like someone looking down at a child pretending to rule.
