They finally crossed the bridge to the other side of the city. Olivia’s gaze wandered over the ruined city.

Her mind replaying fragments of the world her parents once described—a place of laughter, bustling streets, and carefree youth. A world where kids skipped classes, teenagers rebelled against curfews, and adults worried about bills, not monsters. It felt like a cruel fairytale now, a life of freedom that she had never tasted, just out of reach.

She wondered how she would have lived her life, if the apocalypse didn’t happen.

It had always been like a fairytale to her. Her favourite part of the story was the rollercoaster ride. According to mom, having a kiss on the ride was the most magical feeling in the world.

Her life had been different from the life her mother had talked about. She had been subjected to scrutiny and harsh treatment as she came from the lowest section.

She didn’t even have the choice to live the kind of life she wanted, there was no playground, no magical place for love. Naughtiness is like shooting yourself in the foot, as it would be a good reason for the system to send you out into the monster’s domain.

"We would divide ourselves into two groups like I had said earlier. We walk around the area, so we won’t be missing any survivors, and to cover more area." Alexa said, her hand tightened around the hilt of her sword.

"Olivia, Abigail, Tyler, Marko, Ellie, Liam, Crystal, and Lucian follow me. While the rest of you go with Klaus." Alexa’s eyes lingered on Olivia before shifting to the rest of the other students.

"Klaus, take good care of them." She said, but Klaus seems to look annoyed by how she had divided the group. He had wanted Olivia to be on his side, and why does Lucian have to be in the same group as her?

Meanwhile, Olivia sighed out of relief, she was happy for not being in the same group with Klaus.

"Sure, good luck." He muttered, his voice didn’t come from the bottom of his heart.

"Good luck too. We will meet at the rendezvous place. I will message you when I get there." With that, the two groups took different paths.

Freya looked behind her, glancing at Olivia’s figure, something stirred inside her. She wished her sister wouldn’t make it back.

"Guys keep your eyes open, remember our priority is to make sure all survivors are rescued and protected. And remember to keep yourself safe, the monsters here are very dangerous. So be on guard." Klaus’ voice commanded through the air.

Diana walked beside Henrik and Bella, they all had a look of dread on their faces. They have been to different missions in the monsters’ domain, but this was very different from what they experienced so far.

The broken buildings stood like a horrific terror, waiting to judge their fate. Vines both fresh and dried wrapped around the buildings as if it was the only thing that is holding them together.

"Are you okay Diana?" Bella asked, noticing how pale Diana was looking. They all knew Diana’s combat skill wasn’t strong as she was an oracle.

Diana nodded her head, but her throat felt dread, her palms growing sweaty. She could feel shivers running down her spine.

Diana’s hand brushed against the cold, dirty, and rusted frame of a car that she was walking past. And her mind exploded with memories that weren’t hers. Panicked screams, the crushing of vehicles, accidents, the desperate, trampling footsteps of people fighting for a chance to live... to escape.

She saw a little girl that was hiding behind the red car, trembling and as tears flowed seamlessly down her cheeks. She seems to be lost.

Across the little girl, she saw people trampling over other people who fell on the ground in panic to their death.

The vibration of a deep growl brought her attention to the direction it was coming from, with waves of energy swirling in her hand.

Her eyes widened when she saw the monster lunging on the little girl, the girl’s scream died as quickly as it came.

Tears trickled down Diana’s cheeks, she knew she could do nothing to change this, but then the monster raised its head up, its black soulless eyes staring right into hers.

For a second, Diana panicked, she didn’t know if she was invisible or not. If she was not, it meant she could be killed in the past. She nervously took a few steps back, her gaze locked on it.

It dawned on her that the monster could actually see her, the next second the monster lunged at her, she quickly ducked down, avoiding its attack.

Meanwhile in the real world, Bella noticed that she wasn’t moving, she tried to wake Diana up but she wasn’t waking up.

"Klaus," her panicked voice echoed through the air, drawing the others’ attention.

Klaus steps hastened towards her. He waved his hand over her face, but she wasn’t blinking.

"What is wrong with her?" Freya asked.

"It looked like she was having a vision, but we can’t tell if it is a good one or a bad one..." before Henrik could finish his words, Diana’s hands were covered with energy swirling around it.

"What does this mean?" One of the male students with black hair tied in a ponytail asked.

"It means that it is a very bad one. She’s being attacked in her vision." Bella replied worriedly.

Then they saw tears falling down her eyes. "We need to wake her up as soon as possible." Bella turned to Klaus, her voice a little louder.

"Keep your voice down, we don’t want to alert whatever is lurking in this godforsaken place." Klaus cautioned.

A cry almost escaped Bella’s lips when she saw blood streaming down Diana’s face. "Do something now!"

"If only Ellie was here, she is the only person who can wake her from her vision." Henrik muttered, his gaze scanning their surroundings.

"I’ll try to wake her up." Klaus muttered. His eyes shone bright blue.
