Olivia stared at Eritrea in disbelief. She could not believe that she had brought this onto herself. But if she had refused the request, she would have ended up dead.

"The monster is in my sea of consciousness. Others cannot sense it," she tried to reason.

"The scent of the frost fox is very distinct. Any elite and high-level monsters can easily detect it." Eritrea turned her attention back to the baby monster. "But don’t worry, I have already covered its trace before you came," she added nonchalantly.

"Thank you," Olivia said, her voice conveying how sincere she was.

"Do you know if I leveled up or not?" She asked hesitantly.

She knew it. This was too good to be true. When had anything good ever happened to her?

Olivia quickly looked up to her. What did she mean with those words? What blessing could actually come from this?

"The monster had indeed increased your lifespan. You must have noticed that your flaw is mortality. Whenever you use advanced powers, your lifespan reduces," Eritrea said solemnly.

Olivia wanted to laugh, but she couldn’t force the sound out of her throat. She could only feel bile rising up her throat. ’So that is my flaw, to die quickly?’ She tried to force a smile on her face, but she failed miserably.

"As long as you nurture the monster properly, it can momentarily increase your lifespan. And it has also helped to suppress your chaotic powers."

Olivia exhaled deeply. She needed to figure out how to deal with the monster. Her eyes flickered to the pup, which was turning around in a bubble-like barrier, its eyes closed, its white fur sparkling from the reflection of the sun.

Olivia’s eyes opened to the distinctive voices in the background. The first thing that came into her view was the white ceiling.

"The blue pill is to be given only once to students. You have given one to her before... So why do you want to give another one again?" Abigail blocked Alexa’s path, avoiding her piercing gaze.

"I don’t need to explain to you, Abigail. Move aside," Alexa said, her voice laced with irritation and annoyance. Her gaze was the pure definition of ’if only looks could kill.’

Abigail panicked as she watched her make her way towards Olivia. She bit her lower lip in frustration. She didn’t know how to stop the powerful Alexa from having her way.

"She’s still unconscious. At least wait for her to wake up before shoving a pill down her throat," Abigail said meekly, although her eyes were telling another tale. She wanted to skin Alexa alive with her gaze.

Alexa didn’t bother to spare her a glance. "It’s fine as long as it will slide down her throat." She immediately opened the black box in her hand, then took out the blue pill that was on a golden cloth inside the box.

Seeing that she wouldn’t be able to stop her further, Abigail hastily ran to her side, plastering a fake smile on her face. "Let me help you feed her the pill." She stretched out her hand towards her.

"No, I’ll do it myself." Alexa brought the pill closer to Olivia’s lips. Just as she was about to put the pill in her mouth—

Olivia opened her eyes. She had been pretending to still be unconscious when she heard their arguments, thinking this would deter Alexa, making her hand over the pill to Abigail.

"Alexa," she muttered. She blinked her eyes several times, trying to get tears out of her eyes. But it was like the heavens had shut the gate to her tears.

"You’re awake? Take..."

"Olivia!" Abigail cried dramatically, throwing herself between them. "I thought you were gone for good!" She cried, shedding crocodile tears.

Alexa cleared her throat—a clear warning to Abigail to step aside.

Abigail quickly made faces at Olivia, letting her know this was a danger. But Olivia played along, blinking at her that she understood.

"I thought you were dead," Abigail hugged her tightly before finally letting go, taking a few steps back away from them.

"Take this pill. It will help you heal," the monotone voice of Alexa echoed through the room.

Olivia stretched out her hand to take it, but she immediately retreated her hand, groaning in pain—even though she was in no pain.
