Chapter 141: Chapter 140 A Legend with a Silver Mask
"Are you okay?" Abigail asked, rushing to her side.
Olivia nodded. Her hands clenched in anger. She could not believe that Alexa would bring it to her again.
Alexa stared at both of them in amusement. She wanted to tell them how their acting was so poor, but she let out a deep sigh. She couldn’t afford to waste any more time with them.
However, deep down, she was curious as to why they had chosen to put up an act. The pill was very good at healing, except they know... No way, that wasn’t possible. She quickly brushed off the thought.
Although she needed to watch her take the pills, time was not on her side. She put the pill back in the box before handing it over to Abigail. "Make her take it. She will need her strength. We will depart in the next 20 hours."
’We? What did she mean by that?’
But before Olivia could ask any questions, Alexa had already turned around, walking out of the door.
Olivia turned to Abigail. "What did she mean by we?"
"Oh, that... she is in the beta squad... and so am I," she whispered in the last part.
Olivia’s eyes widened. She felt a strange tightness in her chest. "You are coming too? But you don’t know how to fight."
"You guys will need a healer. And I volunteered because I want to make sure you are okay... you know your second name is trouble in capital letters," Abigail tried to laugh it off. This was supposed to be a surprise, but she didn’t know she had let her know about it.
Olivia’s face immediately turned cold, her hands tightened beside her, knuckles turning white. "Withdraw from the mission, Abigail."
"Why should I do that?"
"Because I don’t want you to." Olivia’s voice came out irritated and annoyed.
"But you need someone who can take care of you and make sure you—"
"I said NO! I don’t want anyone to take care of me or protect me. I can take care of myself. You shouldn’t put your nose where it doesn’t belong." Olivia snapped at her.
"You can take care of yourself? You? Can you see the state you are in right now? What about before? I f**king transferred my energy to you for God knows how long." Abigail yelled back, her words striking every nerve in Olivia.
"I never asked for your help," Olivia said coldly.
"Ungrateful bastard. You have changed, Olivia. This wasn’t the side of you that had me wanting to become your friend. You think you have become powerful enough, huh? Fine, I will watch them bring your bones back, that is if they can even find them." Abigail’s lips quivered, as anger and pain rushed through her veins.
Her eyes stung from holding back the tears that were threatening to fall. The loud clanking sound of the box on the shelf echoed through the room.
"Good luck," she said before storming out of the door.
Olivia watched her frame disappear from her view, replaced by the loud bang of the door. She let out a deep breath she didn’t know she had been holding. Tears streamed down her emotionless face.
’Hate me all you want, Abigail, but I can’t lose you. This is the only way I can keep you safe.’ She closed her eyes, letting the tears flow freely down her cheeks.
She sniffled, her eyes flicking over to the small box. ’Lucian,’ he had wanted to investigate the school. If she could give the pill to him, maybe he could detect what the pill really is.

Olivia stood in front of the academy, staring at the plaque. "From the ash, we shall rise." She wondered why they had chosen this quote. Well, it did make sense given their current situation.
She had been unconscious for the past two days, missing out on the practice. Her head tilted to the sky. The sun was already setting. She didn’t know whether to scream at the universe for making her life so difficult.
Abigail had been a great source of comfort to her bleeding heart. Having this fallout, although necessary, made her bleed out more. She had shut the wall against her friend because she didn’t want to inflict Abigail with her bad luck. She didn’t want her to die like Luke had died.
Even the powers she had gained from the monster turned out to be a facade. She had become the maid who would take care of the monster’s child. At the thought of the monster, she felt something bitter, like venom, spreading through her chest.
She exhaled deeply before making her way into the academy.
"I heard a legend had emerged from the pit fight. Rumor has it that she was so powerful that even an SS monster and six elite students were nothing to her. With a swing of her sword, they all fell down."
The words made Olivia’s steps slow down. She turned toward the direction of the voice, only to find seven students gathering around a male student. They all listened with enthusiasm and curiosity.
’Legend? Who is that?’ she thought inwardly.
"And who is this legend?" another student asked. Olivia walked towards them, also listening to the rumor.
The student sighed sadly, shaking his head. "Unfortunately, we weren’t able to see her face, as she was wearing a silver mask."
Olivia’s heart thundered in her chest as realization dawned on her. She was the one they were talking about? She leaned her head closer into their circle.
"Do you know why she is called a legend?" the narrator asked. They shook their heads, including Olivia with her furrowed brows.
He waved his hand, telling them to draw in closer. As if they were hypnotized, they all drew closer to him.
"She is the first person in this world that has been able to make a monster willingly transfer all its essence to her." He whispered as if he was scared to be heard.
