Chapter 118: Chapter 117 Tell Me Where to Find Him

Lucian arched his brows, staring at Dimitri as if he had hit his head on a wall. "Yes," he answered with a scrutinising gaze.

Dimitri let out the air he didn’t know he was holding onto all this while.

Lucian’s gaze followed him as he quickly stood up on his feet, smoothing out the creases on his clothes.

"What happened? Why were you behaving strangely?"

Swallowing, Dimitri’s lips parted, ’Should I tell him or not?’ He sighed, his shoulders slightly lowered.

"The real you just awakened, but for some reason, he had disappeared and now you have come back," he tried to explain in a way that would make sense to him, even though he knew that he wasn’t making any sense.

Lucian stared at him, trying to process what he had said. "So you mean, a part of me that I don’t know existed, just took over without me knowing?... and most importantly, I don’t have any memories about the things he had done."

Dimitri nodded his head. "Exactly, and so does he. He doesn’t have any access to your memories."

"You seem to be very fearful and respectful to him," Lucian flatly commented before getting off the bed. His body still hurt, but it was not something he couldn’t bear.

"Yes... he is a very respected being in our realm... I mean you, he is you."

Lucian chuckled, seeing how he bit his lips. "And what does he want?"

Dimitri blinked, feeling his throat slightly lumped. "Nothing, we didn’t get a chance to talk."

Lucian hummed. "Help me change into nice clothes, I need to see Oliva, She must be feeling down lately," his grey eyes glimmered with sad emotions.

Dimitri closed his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose. If he finds out about what he had done to Diana, he doubts if he would be able to forgive himself. However, he chose not to say a word.

He moved, walking closer to Lucian in order to help him with his needs. He didn’t understand why he felt such urgency to see her... neither did he understand why he cares so much about her.

.......

Olivia sat on the hospital bed, her eyes glancing now and then at Abigail who was watching her like a hawk.

"I’ve told you before, I’m not going anywhere else," she muttered, before resting her back on the pillow.

"And you think I’ll be foolish enough to believe you?" Abigail rolled her eyes at her.

"You have reopened your wounds. I didn’t know that you were planning your quick death," she added.

Olivia’s lips parted, but no words came out. She decided to remain quiet.

A knock suddenly made them turn towards the door. Olivia’s hand unconsciously clutched at the sheet beneath her.

"Lucian?" she whispered under her breath, biting her lower lips nervously as she believed he had come back for what she had done earlier that day.

She watched as Lucian entered the room. He gave a nod of acknowledgment to Abigail before his gaze fell on her.

She immediately stared down at her hand. ’Coward.’ She cussed at herself.

Lucian occasionally glanced at Abigail, getting the cue. "Umm... I’ll go get more... more stuff," she awkwardly said, almost facepalming herself, as she walked out of the door.

Olivia wanted to call her back, but the door was already shut. She tightened her hand so that her knuckles turned white. Great, now she was left alone with him.

"What? Did you come back so you can finish me off?" she asked, staring blankly at him.

"What are you talking about? I only came to check up on you," he asked, his gaze glimmered with curiosity as well as concern.

Olivia stared at him in the eye. For a moment she was taken aback by the care in his eyes. What now? Was he playing mind games with her? First, he was cold and pretending he didn’t recognise her, now he is acting warm as if she mattered to him?

"I thought you said that you don’t remember me. Why are you acting as if you care about me now?"

She didn’t know why she was feeling hurt over his personality change. Nevertheless, she cannot afford to care about him now. What they had before... whatever that was... is over.

She can’t afford to love him. Otherwise, she would bring disaster to him.

"I did?" he asked in bewilderment. He moved, walking closer to her. Every step he took felt like the wall she was building around herself was cracking.

"Yes," she answered flatly. "And you almost killed Diana... I understand you did that because she tried to take your life."

Lucian’s brows furrowed. "Diana tried to kill me? And I tried to kill her too?" he muttered under his breath.

It seemed like a lot had happened when the other side of him took control, and Dimitri had hidden all of this from him.

His throat tightened. "I’m sorry if I have scared you earlier... a lot of things are happening, and I don’t have all the answers right now... but I want you to know that I would never hurt you."

His words brought a blanket of warmth around her heart, tucking and comforting her. The sincerity in his eyes almost made her want to dissolve the cold wall she had been building. But she knew that things were not how they seemed. She couldn’t bring herself to trust him.

"Thanks for the reassurance, and for checking up on me," she said coldly.

Lucian didn’t know what he had done to deserve the cold treatment. However, they were already having a disagreement before the fight broke out, so he would not blame her for giving him a cold shoulder.

"I have intel on the location of Gauss. I thought you might want to know."

Olivia’s head immediately snapped towards him. She forcefully pulled herself to her feet. The abrupt movement made her wobble, losing her balance.

She felt his warm arms wrapped around her waist, preventing her from falling. She swallowed the gasp that almost escaped from her lips.

Their eyes met, she felt a surge of energy bursting through her veins, and for a moment she forgot about everything she was feeling. Surprisingly, grabbed him by his collar, pulling him closer, only an inch away. "Tell me where to find him," her eyes blazed with anger and revenge.
