"Try to be quick," Liora said, watching as Chen Wei and Liang Zihan gathered their weapons and checked their surroundings before stepping outside. The street was eerily quiet in the early morning light.

"We’ll try to come as soon as possible," Liang Zihan assured her. "Keep your vigilance close. We don’t know who else might be watching."

Without another word, Chen Wei and Liang Zihan slipped into the ruined streets, their figures disappearing into the misty morning air.

Liora sighed, turning back to the supplies. Zhou Yinuo sat cross-legged on a crate. She was looking at Liora with her dove-like eyes, her hands playing with a small rusty dagger, which was given by Chen Wei.

"Guess it’s just us," Zhou Yinuo mused. "Do you think we’ll get any visitors?"

Liora sighed. "Let’s hope not."

But deep down, they both knew that in this world, hope was a fragile thing. And it was better not to hope for anything at all.

"Are you hungry?" Liora asked, trying to distract herself from such depressing thoughts. Her mood would only worsen if she kept thinking about the things that had yet to happen.

"Do you want to eat something?" Zhou Yinuo asked in a small voice. She did not feel hungry at all, as their habits had drastically changed from a year ago.

They would eat only once a day, and it had yet to be twenty-four hours since their last meal. So she did not even consider it.

Chen Wei and Liang Zihan had also gone without mentioning it.

But Liora was entirely different from them. She was the kind of person who always munched throughout the day, and she had already started feeling hungry as the morning came.

And the thing was that she liked that instant noodle a bit too much. She had never eaten something like this in her past life. Forget about noodles—she had never even seen chopsticks in her previous life.

But strangely, she knew how to use them. Maybe it was the original owner’s muscle memory. It was really a new feeling to try something different. But deep down, Liora felt that all these new experiences were both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. She could not really pinpoint what was wrong with her.

So Zhou Yinuo decided to cook the instant noodles for her because she did not want Liora to be upset, not after she had done so much for them.

It was good that some branches were still there. She hurriedly started lighting the fire. Liora also snapped out of her thoughts after hearing Zhou Yinuo’s question and came to help her.

"Nothing. Just thinking about whether there is any delicious food other than instant noodles," Liora lied through her teeth. But she did not think her harmless lie would gain pity from Zhou Yinuo.

Zhou Yinuo watched Liora as she help her, while humming a soft tune, looking like a soft girl untanted by the harshness of world. A strange feeling welled up inside her—pity, concern, and something else she couldn’t quite name.

Liora had done so much for them, yet she was all alone in this world, having forgotten everything from her past. How hard must it be for her to survive in an unfamiliar place, surrounded by danger at every turn?

Zhou Yinuo thought of how Liora always seemed confident, always moving forward as if nothing could shake her. But was it really that easy for her? Or was she simply used to enduring hardship alone?

A soft sigh left Zhou Yinuo’s lips. She decided, then and there, that she would treat Liora even better. She would make sure she ate properly and had someone to rely on. Liora might act strong, but she shouldn’t have to carry everything alone.

She reached for one of the instant noodle cups and peeled back the lid. Without hesitation, she grabbed a bottle of water and poured it into the pot, heating it over the small fire they had built. The flames flickered gently, casting a warm glow in the dimly lit warehouse.

Once the water was hot enough, she carefully poured it into the noodle cups, filling them just below the rim. The steam curled into the air as the dry noodles began to soften. She placed the lids back on and let them sit for a few minutes, allowing the flavors to soak in.

Liora, who had been lost in her own thoughts, finally looked up when Zhou Yinuo handed her a cup.

"Eat while it’s hot," Zhou Yinuo said, forcing a small smile.

Liora took it, her fingers curling around the warm container. She pried off the lid and stirred in the seasoning packets, the rich aroma filling the space around them.

"You’re spoiling me," Liora teased as she mixed the noodles.

Zhou Yinuo shrugged, feigning nonchalance. "Someone has to."
