Chapter 175: Moving Further

The Sages had completely destroyed the seven massive ice mountains the moment they teleported out of the small teleportation device formed in the cave to the northern polar region.

To ensure that the path to the dungeon would never open again.

Still, something happened that even they didn’t expect.

When the Sages reached the South Pole, where they had taken Atlas with them, they searched for exactly half a month.

At the end of the search, they found the dungeon itself, but... the dungeon was nowhere to be found.

It was unknown how it had happened, but the area where the Sages and Atlas had thought they could enter together was now completely empty.

This was extremely bad news.

The Life Stone at the South Pole might have disappeared.

It was an incomprehensible situation. No one was supposed to be able to enter, but... What had happened?

When this situation was reported to Atlas, his blood boiled. He did not know whether the missing stone had been taken by those who worshipped angels or those who worshipped the devil.

Still, there was one thing he knew for certain. If those who found the Life Stone were the devil worshippers, the entire world would turn into a living hell.

Demons were far more ruthless than angels, perhaps a hundred or even a thousand times more so. This danger was elevated to an even higher level, and it didn’t stop there.

Atlas had made a mistake. He had asked Hermes to rescue Michael, thinking he could gain more allies. It wasn’t a huge mistake or maybe not even a mistake since Michael actually would be a huge help, but his thoughts were correct. He knew Michael was far more ruthless than Lucifer.

After all, Michael was not like the other angels.

The problem here was the possibility that the Life Stone might be in the hands of those who worshipped the devil. Either the dungeon had been cleaned out long ago in some way, or those who worshipped the devil had somehow managed to access this information.

"Lady Nyx," Atlas said suddenly. He had something on his mind and wanted to be sure.

"Is something wrong?" Nyx asked in a message she sent.

"I don’t want to insult or accuse anyone, but I have to ask... Among the gods or goddesses... Could someone have betrayed us?" Atlas asked suddenly.

If only Atlas and the Sages had learned of the Life Stone’s existence, and if the stone had disappeared before Atlas and the Sages had even left the dungeon at the North Pole, this would indicate one thing:

There was a traitor in the Sacred Land, and this traitor was directly aiding these two opposing forces.

This had not escaped Nyx’s or the other gods’ and goddesses’ minds. They had also pondered this matter for several days, but... no one wanted to believe it.

Nyx had asked the remaining Titans to check on everyone just in case, but nothing came of it. Either this person was incredibly skilled at hiding themselves, or the demons and angels who were likely still in possession of this information had managed to pass it on to their worshippers.

A long time had passed. Nearly three years had elapsed since Atlas’s return, and he had almost reached the position of a third-year student.

At present, no student in the academy was truly stronger than him.

During this time, Bellatrix had begun to focus all her attention on Irene. Even though Irene did not understand what was happening, Bellatrix had told her that it would be better to explain things to her.

Despite Atlas’s objections for nearly a month, everything changed when Cordelia herself said that this was the best course of action and that Atlas might need the help of his closest friend.

When Irene learned everything, Bellatrix began vomiting when she showed her almost every memory, and she even remained in a coma for several weeks.

When the young girl woke up, she hugged Atlas tightly, and there was no need to mention the tears streaming from her eyes. With that, Atlas had regained his closest friend.

All this happened just a short time before Atlas’s 17th birthday.

During this time, he finally had the opportunity to talk to Helena and Arthur in a relaxed and serious manner.

Not only the two of them, but also the others who had been rescued were sitting in front of Atlas. Cassandra and Juliet were with Atlas almost every hour of the day, just in case, for his safety.

Irene had entered the room to join the conversation with Bellatrix, but she was trying her best not to cry.

The young girl was truly burdened, yet she did not refuse these burdens.

"You look more alive," Atlas said to the 11 people in front of him.

It was true. There was no trace of their former emaciated, exhausted state, ready to be used by slave traders. They were more alive, bright, and ready for growth.

"Thanks to you," Helena replied.

Cassandra’s eyes were constantly fixed on Helena. Even from the ancient woman’s perspective, Helena was truly a beautiful girl, and she acknowledged that it was normal for Atlas to have fallen in love with her before.

"I did my best. If Lady Nyx hadn’t warned me if she hadn’t told me about your existence, bad things could have happened," Atlas replied. As always, he was using Nyx as an excuse for everything.

"I don’t want to interfere, but what exactly do we need to do?" Arthur asked suddenly, his jet-black eyes watching Atlas curiously.

"I don’t understand," Atlas asked.

"The moment we arrived at this academy, we were registered as students. Those of us who were older were assigned to specific tasks. We are grateful, but what should we do? After everything we’ve been through, it all feels like a dream, brother," Arthur said suddenly.

Atlas noticed his heart racing twice as fast the moment he heard the term ’brother.’ Regardless of his current life or the life he had before returning to the past, Arthur had called him that again.
