Chapter 57: Visit From An Old Friend.

After a while of chasing Gorvan around, Kenji was finally able yo catch him and make him stay true to his deal. Paying him a thousand gold coins.

Though bregrudgingly, Gorvan asked Kenji to return in a few days to claim his weapon, which he had decided to be a Gauntlet, but Kenji didn’t know about that yet.

And so, after ending all the drama with the Calgroth, Kenji decided that it was time for he and Haruka to return back home.

As they walked back, Kenij was a bit relieved. He wasn’t returning back with a sack of dreadiron, nor with an exhausted body.

He was returning back home, safe and sound, without the worries of the outside world no longer on his shoulder.

Now, all he could think about was getting home, and giving his three cute little children a biiiiigg hug!

Though, as they walked back, silence still ensued between the beast and beast tamer. Neither of them planning to break the silence anytime soon, and neither of them hoping to say sorry first.

Haruka of course wanted to apologise, hut couldn’t, as he felt all her effort to bring Kenji out of the shadow of someone else’s and into the light would have all been futile.

But Kenji on the other hand was particularly stubborn about the topic now. As he now had no intention of apologizing, nor taking Haruka’s advise. Heck! He didn’t even think about it anymore, as all that was glaring into his mind was Leo, Leia, and Pheia.

After a while, they arrived back at the inn.

Kenji immediately went up to the room he was checked in, as Haruka followed behind him in her human form.

The moment they arrived at the door, Kenii brought out his key to the room, and unlocked the door, giving him entrance into the room.

Immediately he got in, he was bombarded by a flying frying pan, headed straight for his head!

But luckily enough, he was swift and was able to easily dodge the frying pan. But before he could react to the flung pan, he felt something hard hit him on the head, causing him to fall on to the ground.

Seeing this, Haruka immediately jumped into the room cautiously, looking around, as she tried to find the culprit that had hit Kenji.

But before anything could be done, something jumped on her back and tied a blindfold around her eyes, immediately taking away her sense of sight.

Charge!

A loud but child like voice exclaimed loudly, yelling charge, as he or she swung a hard object, hitting Haruka squarely on her stomach, causing her to also fall onto the ground like Kenji.

As the person was about to swing the object on her again, a faint and gentle voice was heard.

" Wait guys! That’s Daddy and miss Haruka!" The voice said, immediately making the two attackers to stop and watch closely.

Kenji and Haruka immediately jumped off the griund, and Haruka immediately took off her blindfold.

As the two git off the ground, they immediately surveyed the surroundings and were shocked by what they saw, with Kenji being a bit angry.

Turns out that the two attackers, who seemed to have skillfully beaten them up just now, was actually Leo and Pheia! And the voice that was heard was Leia’s!

Kenji was shocked to realize that the ones responsible for this unexpected ambush were none other than his own children—Leo, Leia, and Pheia! His initial surprise quickly turned into frustration as he exclaimed,"Leo, Leia, Pheia! What on earth are you doing attacking your own father?!"

Immediately they heard Kenji’s voice, their heart sunk down to the bottom of their belly, as they immediately knew that they had done wrong.

After about fifteen minutes of nagging and repremanding the three trouble makers, Kenji came to the realization that they had actually thought that he was an intruder.

They had been playing a game when they had heard the door creak open, Immediately, they rushed over to the kitchen and grabbed as much lethal weapons as they can.

Though Pheia wanted to grab a knife, but know that her dad had said that they shouldn’t touch knives, she decided not to and picked up a kitchen napkin and a frying pan.

While Leo took a wooden spoon and a metal fork. Though he didn’t get to use the fork, he was still able to use the woodedn spoon on both Kenji and Haruka.

Leia on the other hand, wasn’t really one to fight and so decided to stand back a little, leaving the battle part of her siblings.

Although they had done this to protect themselves, Kenji was still a bit annoyed, and still give them an earful.

But after the drama and reprimanding, Kenji told them not to do that again, and he gave them a hug, ending the family fued.

Knock~ Knock~

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door, but before Kenji could check as to who it was, Haruka had already arrived at the door and so he stepped back a bit.

Immediately Haruka opened the door, she was puzzled to see a man in a white shirt and trousers. The man had a young and handsome face, but his eyes. His eyes made her feel like he wasn’t as young as she thought he was and was actually an old timer trying to look young again.

" Excuse me, but is this the room of Makoto Kenji?" The man asked, a smile crossing his face, as he hoped earnestly that he was right.

" Yes, but who are you?" Haruka questioned, her gaze squinting in confusion, as she tried to think to who this was.

" Hello, my name is Fubara, master Fubara," the man said, revealing himself to be Fubara, the man who had suddenly kneeled and called Kenji master immediately he ate the rice and curry Kenji had prepared.

" Fubara? Well, okay, I’ll tell him," Haruka said, immediately slamming the door to inform Keni who it was.

Master Fubara decided to wait, knowing that he had already arrived at the place he wanted to and so didn’t need to worry anymore.

He had decided to take a break from his job, and go an a vacation. But them he suddenly remembered Kenji, and remembered that he was meant to be in Rendel town.

Immediately, he headed there, so as to be absle to see Kenji again after so long. And so immediately he got to Rendel, he began trying to find information about Kenji, with his last try being the adventurers guild.

The receptionist there had given him the basic information that she could reveal and so Fubara had used that information to track Kenji down to this inn.

Inside, Haruka informed Kenji about the man who wanted to see him, and immediately Kenji heard his name, he jolted off the chair he was sitting and ran off to the door.

As he opened the door, he saw a familiar face smiling at him, causing him to also smile back.

" Fubara? Is that really you?!" Kenji said, excitement filling his voice, as he pulled Fubara in for a hug.

" Master Kenji, it really has been a while!" Fubara said, equally excited at this reunion.

Haruka and the children looked on at the two men currently looking excited while hugging each other. Try were a bit confused as to who this man was.

Although Kenji knew about their past in one way or the other, they didn’t really know much about him. So seeing him greeting a stranger like this in such an excited manner really made them wonder as to who this other man was.

After a satisfied moment of greeting, the two men parted, but the smiles on their faces did not.

" Well, are you going to keep me standing outside here?" Fubara questioned.

" Of course not! Come in, come in!" Kenji said, as he directed Fubara into his " home".

" Hello mister!"

As Fubara got in, he was immediately stunned to see three cute little children greeting him with their head slightly bowed down.

He immediately walked up towards them and bent down a bit, immediately ruffling their hair," hello cute little ones, how are you?" He asked with a smile.

" We’re fine mister!" The children said in unison, their cute voices about to melt Fubara’s heart.

But mustering up his will power, and trying not to faint, he said," so what cute names were bestowed to you heavenly blessings?"

" What? I’m not a "heavenly blessings" I’m a Pheia, my dad gave me that name," Pheia said, clearly not understanding the big words Fubara used to speak to her.

" Yeah! And I’m Leia,"

" Leo!" The other two said, chipping in, as they supported their sister. All of them clearly having no idea as to what the words bestow and heavenly blessings mean.

Fubara chuckled at Teir innocence and cute words. He couldn’t believe that they had misunderstood his words to that extent.

Kenji and Haruka at the background, also couldn’t help themselves, as they also let out a soft chuckle while facing each other.

But the moment they were satisfied with their laughter, they stared at each other with conflicted gazes.

" I, need to get some fresh air," Haruka said, as she turned around and headed off towards the balcony/verenda. ( Which ever one you guys prefer).
