Animal Tamer's Dominion
Chapter 56: Unbelievable Amount!

Chapter 56: Unbelievable Amount!

As Haruka arrived and Kenji spotted her, a strange wave of silence washed by the both of them. Contrasting the way they had spoken through the communication circle.

The both of them stared right at each other, not knowing what to say, as they stood there in silence. The weight of the bags of dreadiron feeling more heavier by the second.

" Umm, let’s go now," Haruka said softly, breaking the akwardness and reminding Kenji that he still needed to deliver the dreadiron to Gorvan.

" Alright, let’s go," He replied, as he lifted the sack of ores from the ground, tossing it on to his shoulder, and began to walk forward.

As they walked, the joirywas silent, as neither of them had anything to say to each other, and neither of them would want to initiate a conversation.

As they were still in a silent fight, and we’re totally not ready to reconcile.

* Until he tells my why, and properly apologizes, i’m not going to say a word to him,* Haruka thought internally, holding on to the determination of not talking to her tamer.

* Stubborn as always. I didn’t know Haruka was this stubborn. I mean jeez, I already said I’m sorry, but still she doesn’t even want to listen. Sigh! God, I hope we arrive at Gorvan’s place quickly, as I cannot stand this silence any longer.* Kenij thought to himself, as he quickedned his pace, hoping to quickly arrive at Gorvan’s shop. Maybe then, he could hear a little noise that could appeal to his ears.

••••

After a while of walking in silence, the two finally arrived at the market square. The bustling of the street, yelling of vendors, and clapping of the footsteps on the ground, immediately felt more like pleasure to Kenji than pure silence.

He had missed the noise so much.

As they continued their journey, Kenji navigated through the chaotic market, with humans, beasts, and beast-kins walking around the market. Creating a colorful fantasy like scenery.

Through the chaos, Kenji spotted an old looking shop with a strangely shapped chimney by a corner of the market, spewing out smoke that wiggled around through the air like untamed serpents flying into the sky. And Immediately, he came to the shop, he swing open the doors, throwing the bag of dreadiron onto the ground beside him.

As he did so, a large cloud of dust spread throughout the shop, and immediately it cleared, Kenji was met with eyes filled with annoyance.

* Oh sh*t, I forgot I wasn’t his only customer* Kenji thought, as he nervously scratched the back of his head.

" Hehe, sorry everyone, my bad," Kenji said, as he took a few steps back, while embarrassingly heading towards the waiting room, so as to wait for his turn.

Haruka had also entered Into the shop with him and had seen his whole ’ grand entrance ’ it was a but funny, but then again, she couldn’t laugh, or Kenji might get more mad.

She had turned into her human form when heading towards the shop. It would be a major problem if everyone realized that she could transform into a human whole being a fox.

This might Immediately alert the people who had captured her, and would make them come after her again

Following Kenji, Haruka also went to sit down, quietly waiting their turn, as Gorvan handled his customers.

* Pretty sure all that little calgroth is selling right now is a bunch of junk, just like he had sold to me,* Kenji said, as he silently prayed for the people who had come to buy weapons from Gorvan.

••••

After about a whole two hours of waiting, it was finally Kenji’s turn, and lucky as it may, there was no one behind Kenji, meaning he had all the time in the world.

Seeing Kenji head over towards him, a slight smirk grew on Gorvan’s face, showing the ridicule that was about to spew out of his mouth.

" So you’re back eh? Seems like you had no luck with the dreadiron. But don’t worry, there’s no need to be said, as it’s normal. I mean bandits definitely have to be str-" Before Gorvan could complete his sentence, Kenji threw two sack of ores until the table, with some of the ores even falling out.

Seeing the ores, a dumbfounded exppression washed up on Gorvan’s face, as he couldn’t believe that he was actually seeing right.

He swiftly took off the welding glasses that he had placed on and shakingly picked up one of the dreadiron ores.

" Incredible," Gorvan murmured, as he held up the piece of dreadiron ore in his stone-like hands with amazement.

He then stared back at Kenji with utter disbelief," You mean to tell me that you actually got the dreadiron ores? And two full sacks of them at that?!"

" And we also defeated those bandits. Now the mine is free for public use and government monetization," Kenji said, with his chest puffed upwards in pride.

" You what?! You defeated the bandits?!" Shock was the only word. Shock was the feeling that was currently coursing through Gorvan’s body, as his hands shook violently.

" You mean to say you beat them. As in they were defeated?" Gorvan said, shock riddling his face, as he took a few steps back, almost hitting a few of his tools.

" No! Impossible! There’s no way you did that. That dreadiron must be fake! Yes, fake!" Gorvan said, as he picked up the dreadiron and threw it at Kenji.

" Don’t take me for a fool boy, I’m still a hundred times older than your father!" Gorvan said with a prideful grin, that made Haruka chuckle.

She was being very amused by the sight of all of this. It was actually really funny.

" Fake? Why would I bring you a fake. I need a good weapon, you tiny creature, so why would I jeopardize that for fake. Don’t you have some kind of ore checker machine thing? Why can’t you just check it’s authencity?!" Kenji said, a bit of annoyance laced in his voice.

Hearing Kenji’s words, Gorvan immediately came to the realization that these were real. For someone who wanted a top notch weapon as Kenji, he wouldn’t bring any lesser handed materials.

And the fact that Kenji sounded so confident while speaking about the dreadiron also proved to him that all of this.... wasn’t fake.

" What? Do you finally believe me now?" Kenji asked, a prideful grin etched on his face, as he seemed to say. * C’mon old man, I’m waiting for your big reaction*

Gorvan sat down on the stack of books he placed behind the counter, reminding Kenji of how short this dude is.

" Truly, I am very suprised. I can’t believe you actually got so much dreadiron. And to make matters worst, you actually beat up the bandits from the crimson veil. How did you do it?" Gorvan said, an impressed look washing up on his face, as Kenji had gained a sizeable amount of respect from him now.

" Well," Kenji said, raising his chin up and puffing out his chest," it’s just a matter of true strength. Even without a weapon, I’m still incredibly strong," Kenji said, boasting about his achievements. When in reality, he had been running away from the bandits, and if not for Haruka’s intervention, he would have probably been skewed into human barbecue and fed to a dinosaur.

" Well, since you’re u have gotten the ores, and I did promise that I shall craft you a great weapon, then I believe that I must fulfill my promise," Gorvan said with a sigh. It had been a while since he had put his craftsmanship to the test.

He hadn’t been making good weapons since all of the weapons he had made wouldn’t be cherished as he wanted them to.

He would sweat and bleed day and night just to create a truly worthy weapon. But then a regular adventurer with money to splurge buys the weapon and just doesn’t give it the care it deserves. Eventually abandoning them.

From then on, he had decided not to waste so much energy on a weapon that would be trashed away anyways. And so that was what he did, making trash weapon and scamming adventurers.

I mean, that was exactly what he did to Kenji. The only difference was Kenji was persistent in complaining and requesting for a new weapon. Making him feel that Kenji truly must value his weapon, and so he deserves true craftsmanship.

" What kind of weapon would you like?" He asked, an inquisitive gaze pasted on Kenji.

Kenji thought hard for a moment. This was truly a big question. He was going to use so much dreadiron for one weapon, an amount that is rarely found.

So he had to pick an appropriate weapon.

" I’m actually clueless. I’d like a sword. But I feel it’s kind of a burden to be swinging one around. Besides, mastering a sword wouldn’t come as easy as moving my fists, so I’m not sure. Why don’t you suprise me?" Keni said with a smile.

With a slight sigh, Gorvan replied," Alright then. Give me three days, and when that three days is over, you may come for your weapon,"

" Okay," Kenio said, as he turned around to leave, when he suddenly paused and turned back.

" What? Aren’t you leaving?" Gorvan asked in confusion.

Keni then smiled mischievously," you sly fox of a short Calgroth, you still OWE ME A THOUSAND GOLD COINS!"

" Oh no, I have to get out of her!" The Calgroth then Immediately jumped down from his stack of books and turned tails and ran!

" Damn it you short old man! Get back here with my money! You promised!" Keni exclaimed, as he ran off, chasing the tiny legged Calgroth.

At the background, Haruka couldn’t help but chuckle out loud, as she witnessed the scene of Kenji chasing Gorvan!

* Ha! I wish he could always be like this. True to himself,* she thought internally, as she sighed, the chaos reminding her that she and Kenji’s relationship hadn’t yet gone back to what it used to be.

" I hope he learns soon, as this distancing is beginning to kill me," She murmured, as she closed her eyes, letting a tear drop slip through.
