An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me -
Chapter 132: The one above
Chapter 132: The one above
"Ha, humans think they are the center of everything," she said.
She pushed down with her sword, pushing Quin back a few steps. She attacked, slashing with a flurry of attacks, but Quin blocked all of them with ease.
"You are really good, I have to say, Quin, but not good enough," she said with a smile and stabbed. Her sword glowed blood red. Quin parried the stab, yet somehow a slash formed on the side of his stomach.
His eyes glanced at the wound and back at her. "You have some tricks. Sadly, I’m tired of this," Quin said and attacked. She tried to block, but her sword passed through him.
"Behind you," he said before slashing. She blocked at the last moment but was thrown back. She managed to stop midair, flying with her wings, but just as she stopped, Quin appeared behind her and slashed again.
She couldn’t block the attack and was sent down like a meteor. She slammed into the ground and formed a massive crater.
She struggled to get back on her feet. "How is it possible that you are this much stronger?" she said.
"Whatever information that you have about me is sadly incomplete. I’ll ask you this—have you heard of the one above?" he asked, slowly coming down. He landed on the ground and started walking toward her.
"The one above? You mean the human myth said to be stronger than every human, the Guardian of Vermilion? That’s just a myth that sprung up years ago. There exists no such human," she said.
"Your ignorance is beautiful," Quin said and vanished, moving so fast it was as if he teleported. She raised her sword at the last moment and managed to block his attack. Her body shot back like a bullet. She slammed into the ground, tossed and rolled until she broke through the fence and multiple trees.
Quin slowly started walking toward her. His pace was calm and unrushed. He walked until he got to the fence; the dust that rose was slowly settling.
Sally shot through the dust, using it as cover to land a sneak attack, but as soon as she came out with a slash, Quin blocked it and went as far as kicking her right in the guts, sending her up. He leaped into the air, flipped, and landed an axe kick right on her head and sent her down into the ground again.
Quin dropped down and looked at her. "You don’t get it yet? I’m the one above, the pinnacle of humanity," he said.
"Bull crap," she cursed and pushed herself up. "If someone like you existed, then humanity would have attacked the demons," Sally said.
"Urghh, Sally, weren’t you smart? You’ve been here long enough to know that simply attacking the demons won’t be easy.
But I don’t have the time to explain to you, so just die already," he said and raised his sword.
"Hahaha, hahaha, your cocky act has led you down to your death," she said suddenly. She spat out blood on the ground, and a massive magic circle formed under Quin.
Boom
A massive pillar of flames shot up out of the circle, burning hot and high. The flames were so hot they would burn metal in an instant.
"Hahaha, hahaha, that’s it, burn to your death. The one above? Cocky bastard. I’ll take down your entire school in an instant after you are dead."
Sally cackled and spoke. Her normal look vanished and all that remained was a crazy demon.
"You are really, really loud."
She heard Quin’s voice from the flame. He slashed with his sword, and the entire flame dissipated.
"You really thought using fire works against someone from the Vermilion bloodline? Pathetic," he said. She was stunned to see him standing without a single wound.
He dashed forward, reaching her in an instant. Her eyes followed his blade, but her body couldn’t move.
Slash.
His blade cut into her chest. Blood sprayed out, and she was thrown back, slamming into a tree.
"Impossible," she said, coughing out blood. She got on her feet, and the cut started healing back.
"Oh? You heal?" Quin asked.
"Hahaha, exactly, so you can’t defeat me," Sally said.
"Uhm? That’s not what I should be worried about," Quin said. He let out a crazy smile. "This means I can cut you down over and over and over until you beg for death," Quin said.
When she heard what he said, the realization hit her. She immediately tried to fly away, but Quin was already in front of her like a flash. He didn’t use his sword—he punched her right in the guts.
She arched backward, coughing out blood. She tried to get away, but he didn’t let her. He punched her again.
"Screw you," she cursed. Her sick smile had already been wiped away. She cast a self-destructive spell right there. A massive ball of fire formed above them and came crashing down.
Quin saw her suicidal attempt and smiled. He grabbed her. She raised her above his head. The fireball hit her first, and though it was her own attack, the flames scorched her skin, but it did nothing to Quin.
"Let’s see how long your healing helps you," he said and threw her to the ground. Her burns immediately started healing after the attack stopped.
Quin crouched beside her, waiting for her to get up or say something, but none of that happened. Instead, a formation formed around her.
Quin didn’t know if it was an attack or something defensive, but he didn’t care—well, he didn’t care until the formation started shifting and twisting space.
He tried to stop it, but it was too late, and she vanished.
"Shit, shouldn’t have let her get away," he said. He got back and looked at the ground where she had just been.
"Running isn’t going to help, Sally. I’ll get you in due time," he said and walked away, swinging his arm like nothing bad happened.
[....]
Inside the second-year cafeteria, Arin and Legion were busy inside there. Arin was on the ground infusing her mana into the floor where she was to activate the gate.
Legion, on the other hand, was staring at a student he had tied to a chair—a young boy from the second year.
"What will I do with you?" he asked in a slow tone. He lifted the boy’s chin up. The fear in the boy’s eyes was evident. He was shivering and trying to get away, but he couldn’t.
Suddenly, a magic circle appeared inside the room, and Sally appeared there. Immediately they saw her, they rushed to her.
"Lady Sally!"
"Lady Sally."
They both rushed toward her, trying to see if she was alright.
"Get off me." She pushed them off. She sat up and stretched her body.
"That Quin—he is far stronger than I believed," she said, getting up to her feet. "Where are you on the plan of the gates?" she asked.
"We are on the second gate," Arin said.
"The second? The second? What the hell have you all been doing all this time? If Quin gets here, he’ll destroy the gates without a single struggle.
And that’s not all. If the Headmistress finally makes a move, then we can forget about the whole plan. This academy is her domain. She possesses ultimate power here.
You three are slow. What a waste," she cursed in rage.
"Lady Sally, Blaze died, so it’s only the two of us now," she said.
"Huh? Who killed him?" she asked.
"The Year One Rank One, Riven," Arin responded.
"That kid... I’ll have to kill him before we leave," Sally said. She walked to the spot where the gate was to be and placed her hand there. In less than three seconds, the gate activated—one larger than the one in the library.
[....]
"We have to move faster. The second gate will soon be activated, and everything will go to hell," Riven said as they ran.
"Everything is already in hell. I wonder why the Headmistress or someone at the top has yet to make any move," Noel said.
"That’s not important now. We just have to do what we can," Mia said.
Boom.
An explosion in a class beside them sounded. Someone was battling inside there. Riven immediately came to a halt. They walked toward the door.
He stretched out his hand to open the door, but before he could, the door was blasted open and someone came flying out. He caught the person quickly, only to find out that it was Sofia. She was barely conscious with a few bruises around her body.
"Sofia!" they all said at the same time.
They looked into the class and saw Chloe as well, battling a demonized. Her staff was in hand and she used Ice lance in rapid succession.
Mia didn’t waste even a second. She charged into the classroom, and Noel followed immediately. The two of them attacked at the same time—wind and lightning. Their attacks landed on the unsuspecting demonized and killed it instantly.
