Chapter 126: You’ll see your blood

Chapter 126: You’ll see your blood

Lance attacked. Jack crossed his arms and blocked the attack. He growled at Lance.

"What the hell are you doing?" Jack asked.

"Tell me, Jack, who do you think is the leader of our class? Of the first years?" Lance asked.

"What the hell are you saying? What importance is that right now?" Jack asked and pushed Lance back. He quickly retreated several meters away.

"It’s important to me. Sad if you refuse to tell me, I’ll take it that you are with him. And if you are, I’ll cut you down right where you stand," Lance said.

"You have lost it. Aren’t you the chosen of Kumis? Shouldn’t you be doing what’s right? Right now the academy is about to fall and you are worried about a class status?" Jack roared.

"It is not just a class status!" Lance yelled and shot forward, using an overhead slash. Jack blocked the attack but was blasted back. He flipped in the air, landed on the ground, and immediately started running.

"I’ll not let you get away. Tell me who you stand with!" Lance roared and chased him, catching up immediately. He slashed from the side. Jack blocked the attack again, but he was blasted back again. This time, he slammed into the ground and rolled for a few meters before stopping.

He looked up and saw Lance in the air, coming with a stab. He rolled out of the way, and the sword stabbed into the ground deep.

He got on his feet and immediately attacked Lance. Lance dodged backward, but the tip of the claws cut into his face and drew some blood.

Lance pulled out his sword and retreated backward. He touched his face and saw the blood on his hand. His anger increased.

"You struck me. I’ll take that as you are against me," he said in rage. His sword began glowing.

"I don’t know what twisted ideas you have in your mind, but do you really think the academy will allow what you’re doing to go unpunished?" Jack asked.

"I’m the chosen. Do you really think the academy will bat an eye at me killing someone like you?" Lance asked.

"You have completely lost it," Jack said, then stretched out his claws. "But I’m done running. I thought I could get through to you, but since that’s not the case, I’ll take you down," he said, mana system condensing at his claws. He charged in and slashed from both sides at the same time.

Lance moved back very quickly, dodging the attack. He immediately countered with an overhead slash. Jack moved to the side and dodged the attack before attacking as well.

Lance blocked the attack. He pushed Jack back and attacked with a light arc. Jack dodged the attack, but he was distracted for a moment, and when he looked up, he saw Lance already in front of him, attacking.

Lance’s sword shined bright as he slashed. Jack blocked the attack and was thrown far. His arms felt numb. His gauntlet had a heavy dent in it.

Lance wasn’t done with Jack yet, so he rushed toward him again. But before he could get to him, an arrow came flying.

Thwap, Whoosh. The arrow cut through the air at an unbelievable speed. Lance managed to block it, but the moment the arrow touched his blade, it exploded. The blast threw him back. He slammed into the ground roughly.

The brother charged in after his sister’s shot, his sword to his side. She immediately followed behind her brother, an arrow already inside her bow.

Her brother leaped into the air and slashed down. Lance tried to block, but vines shot out of the ground and grabbed his hands, stopping him.

It looked like the attack would land, but white flames exploded from Lance’s body and burned up the vines. With his arms free, he blocked the attack at just the right moment.

Clang.

The ground beneath Lance cracked, but he completely blocked the attack. Still, it was no time to be happy, as from his side, the sister showed up, pulling her arrow.

"Zara, get out of the way," she said. Her brother made vines come out of the ground and pulled him out of the way. She shot the arrow, and it penetrated through her flames before exploding.

Lance was stunned when the arrow entered his flames. The blast threw him back several feet. He slammed into the ground, tossed, and rolled before coming to a stop.

Louis and Treshan, who had been watching the whole fight, finally decided it was their time to leave, and without saying anything more to Lance, they walked away.

Lance got back on his feet. The rage in his eyes was evident.

"Why, why, why? Why the hell are all of you standing with him? Can’t you see? He is trying to take away what belongs to me!" Lance yelled.

"I believe you are the one trying to take what belongs to him," the elf girl spoke.

"Sora," her brother called her name.

"No brother, I’ll speak," she said, then looked at Lance.

"I might not have had enough time to know much about Riven, but one thing is for sure—he is a far better leader than you. He knows what to do in times of distress. He knows how to stand for what is right, while you bent back for the second years.

And finally, he doesn’t attack his classmates because of his own insecurities. You are a disgrace to the goddess Lumis," she said.

"You brat," Lance growled. He looked at Sora, his eyes filled with anger. He pointed his sword at her.

"I’ll make sure I cut your head off and hand it to your brother," he said, about to attack. But from behind him, a flame arc cut through the air and hit Lance in the back.

"You attack us once and I could cover that because of the situation, but you do it again, and I don’t care what your reason is. I swear I’ll make sure you see your blood, Lance," Robert spoke. He cleaned the blood from the side of his mouth.
