Chapter 112: The three
Chapter 112: The three
Riven watched her walk into the class. He smiled. "A few days ago, this would have made me happy—finally being accepted—but now it no longer holds that much importance," Riven thought.
[Heavy change detected. You are no longer seeking validation from target. Initial mission called off. No rewards given.]
The system suddenly popped up and ended the mission that he had been on for a while.
"No, no, no, no. What the hell? This isn’t what I wanted! I still need the rewards," Riven cried out.
"Misery Grave, is there a reason you are outside talking to yourself?" He suddenly heard Sally from behind him.
"Oh, it’s nothing, Miss Sally. I was just doing something," he said in a rush. She raised her brow but didn’t question him about it.
"Well, head in. I have a special announcement to make," she said. He nodded and walked into the class.
’Special announcement, huh? I’m guessing those three are finally here,’ Riven thought. He looked up and saw Mia and Noel sitting together. Noel was signalling for him to come.
He walked up there and got on the empty seat. "So, when did you both start sitting together?" he asked. Mia, who was in between both of them, looked at him and responded.
"You both have pretty good understanding of swordsmanship. Staying around the both of you will help me more," she said, then faced forward.
"Yeaaaahhh, I guess that makes sense," Riven said.
A few moments later, Sally walked in. The class went quiet, everyone paying attention to her.
"Good day, students. The last week has been quite the uphill for the academy. With a demonized showing up in the academy, it has really been something else.
We have two of our students to thank for not allowing the issue to escalate—Riven Von Grave and Noel Von Grave. The academy has rewarded both of them with a million points each.
In honest regard, such a reward is small compared to the risk they were faced with, but certain rules do not allow us to give them more.
Also, a student died that day, being corrupted by the demonic energy, turning into that twisted monster that we all saw.
We have no clue if she was the one that did it to herself or if someone in the academy had actually caused this. The academy, as you know, is already looking for the person. There have been little results, but we don’t plan to stop until we finally root out any potential threats." After she finished saying that, she paused.
Her eyes scanned the students one by one, and then she spoke again.
"With that out of the way, there are two major announcements that I have to make. The first is: as of this week going forward, there will be a lot of mixed classes and assessments with the other classes.
I believe that you all will make sure that our class doesn’t fall short and always remains the top class.
When all this starts, all classes will be given a certain amount of points to start with, and as you go, your class as a whole can gain or lose points, so be careful with everything that you do, as your failure might affect the whole class.
More information on that will be shared with all of you later on." She finished and then walked to the door. She opened it, and three people walked in.
They looked to be the same age as everyone in the class—two boys and one girl. They were all dressed in the same uniform, but they had a green sash around their arms.
The first boy was a red-haired boy with unusually sharp teeth. He was average height, and he kept smiling, showing the teeth even more.
The girl had shiny silver hair that matched her eyes. She was small; her expression was extremely calm. She moved with grace and elegance.
The third was a tall, hunched-over boy that had his hands in his pockets. He had black hair, eyes that looked like they hadn’t seen sleep in days, with dark bags underneath them.
The three of them followed her to the front of the class.
"These three are students from one of the most prestigious academies in the neighboring kingdom—the Kingdom of Sapphire. It’s not a student exchange program, but these three were brought here because Sapphire believes the education in Vermilion might have some great things.
These three are, in a sense, scouts. They will be with us for a semester, and when they return—depending on how good the things they learn from here are—an actual exchange program might be set in place," Sally explained in detail.
’And here begins the falling out of Vermilion and Sapphire,’ Riven thought. He folded his arms, looking at those three, and for some reason, the three of them locked eyes with him.
"Alright, the three of you, introduce yourselves," Sally said.
The red-haired boy stepped forward first. He smiled, showing his teeth even more. "My name is Blaze Lionheart, and I’m here to get stronger, so you guys better be strong," he said.
The students looked at him with cold eyes. Was this dude serious? They felt offended by what he said, but some in the class wanted to see what Blaze could do. Riven was one of them.
The girl stepped forward. In a calm manner, she spoke, "My name is Arin Miller. It’s a pleasure to be part of this class. I hope to have a pleasant stay with you all."
The boys in the class were all hyped when she spoke, some immediately falling for her.
Riven looked around, then sighed. ’If they only knew she was a devil second only to Sally in cruelty.’
The third and last stepped up. He didn’t say anything for a while, and then he finally opened his mouth. "Hmmmmmmmmmmm, I’m Legion Mervin whatever," he said and walked back. His introduction was the most boring of all.
’Legion the Dark—that’s his title. Cackling maniac... but that’s only when he’s dissecting humans,’ Riven thought.
