Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night
Chapter 76: Lock her up

Chapter 76: Lock her up

"Oh my, how is she doing?" Theresa asked with evident worry in her voice, which annoyed Damien. How could they have kept it from him that she was dealing with trauma?

"Mother!" He yelled, feeling frustrated.

"Yes, yes. She’s dealing with a past trauma. She has a problem with being intimate and suddenly blacks out when she is about to be intimate," Theresa confessed, rubbing her forehead in frustration.

"What’s the trauma about?" Damien inquired, leaving Theresa speechless. She had promised not to tell anyone about Aurora’s past trauma, and she didn’t know how to keep it from her son.

Even if she lied, Damien was going to find out eventually. Caught in a difficult situation, Theresa found herself on edge, wishing Damien could accept that as an answer.

"I promised to keep it a secret," Theresa replied, avoiding Damien’s gaze.

Damien scoffed, growing furious with each revelation. "I demand you tell me what it is now, mother!" He demanded, his voice carrying an underlying warning.

"Why not ask her yourself?" Theresa urged, feeling trapped.

"If I could, I wouldn’t be here!" He answered.

"Fine, she was rejected by her mate and sold to be a slave. Though I don’t know who her mate is because I didn’t inquire further," Theresa surrendered and told him the truth.

"She had a mate?" Damien asked.

"Yes, and I am sure it was an Alpha," Theresa said, recalling buying her as a Luna slave. Unless the auctioneers lied to her, Aurora’s mate was an Alpha.

"What else do you know?" Damien asked, unsatisfied with her reply. He wanted to know more about Aurora’s past and which Alpha could have betrayed her. Alpha Nureo hasn’t found his mate yet, Edward wasn’t an Alpha, so which Alpha could it be?

"That’s all," Theresa truthfully answered.

"Where was the auction performed?" Damien asked.

"Near the outskirts of the country. That was five years ago, they might have moved elsewhere!" Theresa answered and pointed out. It was her first time buying a slave, and the men in charge of selling them looked like travelers.

Damien didn’t say anything else and stormed out of Theresa’s room.

He returned to the hospital, and Aurora was already awake, playing with another hospitalized child. Looking at her face, none of her expressions hinted at the hardships she had faced. Could her trauma be the reason she was planning to escape the night he met her again?

Aurora spotted Damien, and their gazes met. Averting her eyes, she urged, "Piper, I have a visitor now. Come back later, okay?"

"Okay, Aurora," the child agreed and left her room excitedly. Damien entered her ward once the child was gone and approached her on the bed.

"Thanks for bringing me here," she gestured, sounding as polite as she could be. Damien noticed how she was trying to keep her distance from him.

He knew she must have overheard everything back at the garden, but he didn’t care if she was hurt. After all, she was just his breeder. Why did it matter if he called her a plaything?

"Who was your mate?" He asked, taking her aback.

Aurora was shocked and grew anxious, wondering how Damien knew that she had a mate.

"I have no idea what you mean," she denied, looking away from him.

"Why were you rejected?" He inquired further.

"I... I need to rest. Please take your leave, Alpha," she stammered, attempting to lie on the bed. But before she could, Damien grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer to him, their faces now very close.

She tried to free herself from his grasp, but he only tightened his grip, causing her pain.

"You are hurting me, Alpha!" She reminded him, wincing in pain. Why was he suddenly interested in her past, and who told him about it?

The color of gold in Damien’s eyes indicated his fury, but though Aurora was intimidated, she didn’t show it.

"Who is your fucking mate?!" He yelled at her.

"I have no idea what you mean," she denied, showing no fear towards him.

"Then should I help you have an idea?" He threatened, tightening his grip tenfold.

"Ahhh," she groaned in pain, tugging at his arm, urging him to release her. Damien’s anger only grew as she remained quiet. Why was she so adamant about keeping her past a secret? What could be the big deal about her history that she couldn’t share with him?

It irked him that she wouldn’t be forthcoming, and he didn’t know when his wolf’s instincts took over, causing her pain.

"Are you trying to infuriate me?" He asked, and she scoffed, tears welling up in her eyes.

"Why do you care about me? I owe you no explanation, and I don’t care if you are infuriated," she sneered at him, and tears started rolling down her cheeks. He had always hurt her and made her feel small, so why was he acting like he cared now?

Even if he threatened to kill her, she wouldn’t reveal anything. He didn’t deserve to know anything about her, he was a complete scumbag.

"Really? I hope you are true to your words," he replied, smirking evilly at her. If she wanted to see his devilish side, then he was going to show her.

"I don’t give a damn," she mocked, wiping off the tears on her face with her free hand.

"Is anyone out there?!" He yelled, attracting attention to both of them.

"Alpha," one of the guards stationed at intervals in the wards hurriedly entered the room.

"Lock her up in her room. No one is allowed to see her, and she shouldn’t be given anything to eat until I say so," he commanded, staring deep into her eyes as he issued the order.

"Al...pha," the guard stammered, shocked by the order. Why would their Alpha want to lock up a patient?

Releasing his grip on her hand, Damien walked up to the guard and warned, "If any of my orders are disobeyed, you will pay with your life." He threatened before leaving the ward.

"Yes, Alpha," the guard quickly complied, not willing to risk his life.
