Chapter 60: Scream under me

Charlotte and Sarah exchanged confused glances, unsure of what had just transpired. However, they brushed it off and Charlotte joined Sarah by her side, where Dave had vacated his seat.

Settling in comfortably, the duo engaged in a lively conversation, chatting and smiling together.

Watching them, Aurora couldn’t help but miss Scarlet and wonder how she was doing. Lost in thought, she sighed without realizing she was in the company of others.

"I’m sorry if we annoyed you. It’s been a while since we met, so I got overexcited," Sarah played the victim, wearing an apologetic look that made Aurora feel uneasy.

"That was not my intention," Aurora said, trying to argue her way out, but it seemed like what mattered was the fact that Sarah got to be the victim. She only signed a harmless contract, why did she have to face all of these?

"Why are you apologizing? The uncomfortable one should leave," Laura said, eyeing Aurora with disdain. In her mind, Aurora was an obstacle, and as her daughter’s future Luna, she felt she didn’t have to show any respect to someone like Aurora, who she believed was seducing someone else’s man.

"Mother!" Sarah scolded, secretly giving her mother a meaningful glare. She knew that her mother’s attitude could ruin everything if she kept acting like the bad guy. Sarah was there to win Damien’s heart, not to cause trouble for him or those close to him. Though she deprived joy from watching her mother humiliate Aurora, there was a limit to it.

Damien seemed protective of her and it was only right she acted like she cared about Aurora, to please Damien.

Charlotte was puzzled and couldn’t understand why Laura seemed dissatisfied with the lady seated beside Damien.

"Who are you?" Charlotte asked Aurora with genuine curiosity.

"I am Aurora," she replied.

"Ohh, may I ask about your position in the mansion?" Charlotte inquired politely but eagerly, wondering why Laura had such animosity towards her.

"I..." Aurora stammered, feeling embarrassed to reveal her true position.

"Who would be bold enough to call herself a sexual partner?" Laura muttered, shocking Charlotte with her words. Damien had a sexual partner? Wasn’t he rumored to be gay and uninterested in women? How had Aurora managed to pique his interest?

"Being rude to my woman is equal to being rude to me!" Damien finally snapped, slamming his hands on the dining table, causing everyone to flinch. Sarah’s heart ached when he referred to Aurora as his woman.

Aurora felt a strange feeling from being called his woman.

"You are also being rude to our daughter. Introducing your sexual partner to your wife is the highest form of disrespect," Laura didn’t hold back, facing Damien squarely. She had never been fond of him, and if it weren’t for the Elders and her daughter insisting on the marriage, she would have chosen Alpha Lucas instead.

"You have the choice of ending the marriage. After all, I already have a woman!" Damien leaned back in his chair, smirking mischievously, hoping to provoke a reaction from Laura.

"What?" Laura couldn’t believe what she had just heard. Her fists clenched in anger, but she was stopped by her husband, Donald.

"Alpha, my wife is just being overprotective of our daughter. She is our only child, and I hope you understand her mother’s unruly behavior." Donald, the Lord of the West, stood up and apologized for Laura’s behavior before making her sit down.

"Of course, I can see how precious she is to you, and marrying her to me was probably your way of protecting her!" Damien retorted, hinting at their naivety for forcing her into the marriage.

Sarah’s heart sank at his words, but she remained determined not to give up. She believed that he would eventually fall for her persistence.

"Father is right. But I do not mind Alpha having a fling, becoming a wife and Luna should be my priority," Sarah asserted, earning approving smiles from the Elders.

"We sure picked the right woman!" One of the Elders commented, and the others nodded in agreement.

Feeling uncomfortable in their midst, Aurora decided to leave the dining hall.

"Stop!" Damien ordered, raising his voice at her.

"Alpha, I really have to..." Aurora began to explain, but Damien tightly gripped her wrist and led her out of the dining hall.

"I hope you are not furious at him, Alpha Damien has always been like that," Theresa intervened, offering a reassuring smile to Sarah’s parents.

"He should fix his attitude," Laura grumbled, adjusting her hair.

"You might be rich enough to get any man for your daughter, but I hope you don’t forget that Alpha Damien is powerful enough to acquire your wealth," Enoch warned Laura politely before leaving the dining hall as well.

"Oh my, did he just threaten me?" Laura asked Theresa with disbelief in her eyes. Theresa felt her heart ache as she had to deal with such guests, but she wished Damien knew how to flatter people to make things smoother.

Unlike Dave, Damien was a completely different person. He paid little attention to others’ feelings and always remained true to himself, regardless of the situation.

"It was definitely not a threat, please calm down," Theresa pleaded with Laura, trying to diffuse the tension.

Upon reaching his room, Damien slammed the door shut, and then he pushed Aurora against the closed door, holding her hands firmly with his own.

With uneven breathing, Aurora nervously anticipated what he might do next and closed her eyes.

When he remained silent, she cautiously opened her eyes and gasped when she saw his scrutinizing gaze. She was taken aback by the hint of lust in his eyes. What was he doing? Was he trying to seduce her instead of scolding her?

"Alpha Damien, it’s quite excessive for this!" She said, trying to bring his attention back to the situation at hand. They couldn’t be intimate all the time, it wasn’t a proper act.

"For what?" He inquired, seemingly unfazed by her remark.

"You know better than I do!" She retorted, feeling flustered by his gaze.

"Oh, you mean making you scream under me?!" He seductively replied.
