Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night
Chapter 58: Damien decides

Chapter 58: Damien decides

As she made her way to the kitchen, Aurora encountered Scarlet walking with a swollen face.

"Scarlet, why do you look so sad?" Aurora asked, moving closer to her and gently placing her hands on both sides of Scarlet’s cheeks to check for any signs of distress. The image she had witnessed in Scarlet’s room earlier that morning made her wonder if something bad had happened between them.

"Did he hurt you?" Aurora inquired with worry, attempting to inspect Scarlet’s body for injuries, but she couldn’t find any, which only heightened her concern. Scarlet remained silent, not moving her mouth or showing any desire to talk.

Suddenly, Scarlet took notice of Aurora’s question and asked, "How did you know he was in my room?"

"Well, I was just checking up on you, and that’s when I saw you both," Aurora explained, and Scarlet nodded in response. Scarlet realized that it was Aurora who had made the noise that woke her up.

"No, I am fine. I just got soap in my eyes," Scarlet lied, offering a sad smile, but Aurora wasn’t convinced.

Deciding to talk to Enoch later and find out what was wrong, Aurora changed the subject as Scarlet mentioned Damien’s fiancée. "I have to go, The Alpha’s fiancee is here," as Scarlet was about to leave, she was struck by sudden pain, nearly losing her balance, but Aurora quickly supported her to prevent a fall.

With wide eyes and a shocked expression, Scarlet recalled a new memory that had just resurfaced. "It was me!" She exclaimed, holding her head in frustration. She realized that Enoch hadn’t intentionally slept with her, instead, it was she who had impulsively forced him to stay while she was drunk.

Aurora found it challenging to follow Scarlet’s train of thought, as she seemed off that morning. She wondered if the lingering effects of alcohol were causing her friend to act strangely.

"I forced him into my bed. He saved me, and..." Scarlet trailed off, kneeling down and repeatedly hitting her forehead in shame. She blamed him for her mistakes, even though he never said a word.

Aurora bent down to Scarlet’s height, holding her wrist to stop her from hurting herself. "You are scaring me. What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" She asked with concern.

"I am not okay," finally admitting her feelings, Scarlet hugged Aurora tightly, sobbing in her hands.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Aurora gently patted her back, respecting Scarlet’s need for privacy.

"No," Scarlet whispered against Aurora’s shoulder, continuing to sob. She didn’t want to discuss her feelings, she had kept them bottled up for years and didn’t want anyone’s pity.

"Alright, let’s not talk about it," Aurora said, understanding Scarlet’s wishes, and allowed her to cry as much as she needed.

Meanwhile, Enoch felt guilty as he observed the two friends sobbing together. He had been looking for Aurora, as the Alpha wanted her by his side, but he hadn’t expected to encounter such a sad scene.

He contemplated whether to pretend not to care or wait until Scarlet released all her emotions before approaching Aurora.

"Let’s go. I am fine now," Scarlet wiped her face and stood up. "Wait..." Aurora began to speak, but Scarlet abruptly halted, her gaze fixed on a specific spot.

Aurora followed her gaze and saw Enoch standing in a corner, looking guilty. She grew suspicious, wondering if something had happened between the two of them, as they both seemed off that morning. Enoch was usually active and focused, but now he appeared less engaged.

Aurora felt bothered by the situation. What could have possibly transpired in that room?

"The Alpha is asking for Aurora. Come with me," Enoch declared, breaking their gaze, and started walking away.

Scarlet hesitated, torn between stopping him or letting him go. She had already told him not to appear in front of her again, so would it seem foolish if she called after him now?

In defeat, Scarlet dropped her head, sighing and feeling regretful. She didn’t want to have anything to do with him, but she also didn’t want to be the one in the wrong.

She knew she had made a mistake, and he deserved an apology, but she was unsure of how to approach the situation.

"I will be back to check up on you. Don’t do anything and go back to your room, okay?" Aurora warned Scarlet before following Enoch.

Scarlet agreed with a smile and watched Aurora leave.

Scarlet felt overwhelmed by the whirlwind of emotions that had hit her that morning, leaving her feeling dizzy.

Deciding it was best to take a day to rest and collect her thoughts, she chose to sleep in. She knew she needed time to figure out how to apologize to Enoch, but for now, she craved some peace and solitude.

Upon reaching her destination with Enoch, Aurora felt a sense of unease as she noticed a fair-looking woman with red hair standing beside Damien. It was evident that she was the arranged fiancee for Damien, and she wore a short, simple gown that accentuated her figure beautifully.

The woman’s bright smile was so dazzling that it made Aurora feel suddenly intimidated. Even with light makeup, she exuded an undeniable beauty that made Aurora feel small and tempted to escape the scene.

Unfortunately, as Aurora was about to make her move, Damien’s gaze locked onto her, preventing her from leaving. She hoped he would ignore her and focus on the woman beside him, but her expectations were ruined, as Damien never failed to disappoint.

"Come over here, Aurora," his voice, cool and stern, resounded in her ears, making her flinch in fear. She felt as though she was doomed at that moment.

As Damien called her over, everyone, including the woman’s family, turned their attention in their direction. Some gazes were neutral, others curious, and some filled with disdain.

Putting on a bright smile, Aurora turned her back slightly, pretending she hadn’t heard him well, hoping to avoid the situation.

"I said come over here," Damien repeated, halting her attempt to escape, and inwardly, Aurora cursed him for putting her in this uncomfortable position.
