Chapter 44: A diary about Damien
Chapter 44: A diary about Damien
Was she prepared to leave her past behind? The thought hadn’t crossed her mind until now. If she were to forget her past, then the five years she spent seeking revenge would be in vain, and her parents’ deaths would have been for nothing.
No, she couldn’t abandon her revenge plan for a man who saw her as nothing more than a tool. As she contemplated the situation, an idea struck her, she could use Damien to her advantage. It would be a win-win for both of them, he would get his child, and she would get her revenge.
She resolved to find a way to overcome her phobia without letting go of her past. Theresa had mentioned another method during their previous conversation, and now that she had made her decision, she would choose that option instead of abandoning her past.
With newfound determination, she covered herself and drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, breakfast was quiet as Damien appeared to be in a sour mood, and nobody wanted to provoke him further.
She didn’t see him again after breakfast yesterday, and he didn’t come down for dinner either. Was he still upset about what had happened?
As she stole a glance at him, their gazes met briefly, and she quickly looked away, cursing herself internally for the unfortunate timing. ’Sh*t,’ she thought and cleared her throat.
"Is he mad at you?" Dave leaned closer and whispered into her ear. It was evident that Damien was angry at someone or something, but besides Enoch, the rest of the pack members weren’t sure who or what it was.
"I think so," she whispered back, and they both chuckled.
"He looks cute when he’s mad," Dave continued whispering.
"He does? I don’t think so," she replied in a hushed tone, shaking her head at Dave’s remark. Damien looked terrifying and unapproachable when angry.
She couldn’t believe he was still holding a grudge against her for what she said. In her mind, she was the victim, not him. Whatever, she didn’t care.
"What’s so funny, Dave?" Theresa, who was sitting next to Dave, noticed their covert interactions and asked.
"We were just having a conversation, nothing to worry about," Dave replied, smirking at Damien. He enjoyed seeing Damien furious, it was payback for all the times Damien had punished him.
"Dave, the cattle farm needs supervision. You are in charge," Damien announced, dampening Dave’s spirits with an undesirable task.
"What?????" Dave exclaimed, abruptly standing up and expressing his discontent about his new responsibility. He should have known Damien wouldn’t let him get away with it. Such a cruel brother.
"Any objections?" Damien asked, flashing a mischievous grin.
"I hate you," Dave muttered, suppressing his anger, and stormed out of the dining room.
Aurora felt sorry for Dave, but there was nothing she could do to help him. If only they had a more typical Alpha like everyone else. But what was the definition of a normal Alpha, anyway?
"Alpha, the welcome party the pack members organized is being held today," Williams, Aurora’s friend, was present at the dining table today, which surprised her.
Based on what he said, he was probably there to relay that information. It was his first breakfast in the mansion.
"Okay," Damien responded casually.
"Poor Dave, he would have been excited to hear this news," Enoch sympathized, shaking his head. If only Dave had waited a bit longer, he would have heard the good news. But it didn’t matter, Dave had people to provide him with information.
"Beta Enoch, the location will be sent to you," Williams revealed, receiving a nod from Enoch.
"Aurora, let’s get going," Theresa said, standing up, and Aurora promptly followed.
Once they reached the garden, they were served tea and biscuits for their therapy session.
"So, have you thought about it?" Theresa asked, sipping her tea contentedly.
"I don’t want to let go of my past," Aurora disclosed, causing Theresa to choke on her tea in surprise.
"Are you okay?" Aurora asked, concerned, and handed Theresa a handkerchief.
She had never encountered someone so determined not to let go of their past. Aurora had always been stubborn and obstinate, and she still exhibited that attitude.
"Did you really think it through?" Theresa asked, wiping off the small stain on the corner of her lips, still in disbelief.
"I did. I have so many things to deal with, so I can’t let go of my past. I will go with the second choice," she said, oozing confidence in her decision, leaving Theresa momentarily speechless.
"Alright, then we might get naughty and shameless from now on," Theresa said, hoping to scare Aurora, but Aurora merely nodded and replied, "Scarlet already told me that."
"So tell me, what do you know about intimacy?" Theresa asked, starting to pace in front of Aurora.
"Um, to be submissive when your husband wants to mate with you?" Aurora responded, but it sounded more like a question.
She had only been taught rules and norms at Lucas’s pack, but no one had bothered to educate her about sex. Lucas’s pack had been really inadequate in many aspects, and they hadn’t taught her anything during the three months she was with them.
"Gosh, you have a long way to go. I meant, what do you know about having sex with a man?" Theresa was straightforward, causing Aurora to blush.
"I know nothing," Aurora replied, scratching her neck nervously and smiling.
Theresa sighed and took her seat. "We would have to start from the beginning. It’s no longer a therapy session but an intimacy session," Theresa said, picking up the diary from the table.
"Take this. Until the end of our session, you must write down all your emotions in it, especially the ones you feel when you’re with that man," Aurora received the diary and frowned slightly.
Now she had to document how she felt every time she was around Damien. He always made her annoyed, frustrated, and tired. Were those emotions really worth writing about?
"And even the negative emotions?" Aurora asked.
"Oh yes, every single one should be recorded," Theresa replied.
"Is that all for today?" Aurora inquired.
"Yes, I wasn’t expecting you to choose the second option, so I didn’t come prepared. We will meet here every morning around the same time. Have a good day." With that, Theresa left the garden, leaving Aurora behind.
Looking at the diary, she realized it would now be dedicated to Damien, as she had to write down her emotions when with him.
’That cruel Alpha.’
