Chapter 32: Bedroom Energy for Damien

Aurora’s heart swelled with happiness as she laid eyes on Damien. He had arrived just in time.

"Still holding onto the past?" the man smirked at Damien, surprising Aurora with their familiarity. Damien had friends? But their interaction seemed filled with animosity.

If they knew each other, how come Rome was asking her if she was Damien’s sister? Was he playing hard to get so he could extract information from her? She suddenly felt disgusted by him and could not wait to leave his presence.

"What past could I possibly have with a stranger?" Aurora widened her eyes at Damien’s retort, realizing she was the key to escape this situation.

Feigning a headache, she placed her hands on her forehead and began to agonize, "Oh no, I think I am about to faint. My head is throbbing!" She let out a scream and leaned on Damien for support.

"Should I take you to the hospital?" Rome offered, concern etched on his face, making Aurora feel guilty for deceiving him. However, she had no other choice if she wanted to salvage the rest of the evening.

Subtly pinching Damien, she winked at him, signaling that he should follow her lead and guide her out of the hall. To her surprise, he remained rooted to his spot, staring at her without responding. She continued pinching him to get his attention, but he only tilted his head and raised an eyebrow in confusion.

’Idiot,’ she cursed inwardly, then took hold of Damien’s arm and wrapped her hand around it.

"Thank you for your help today, but I would like to go home with my brother now," she stated, initiating her plan to pull Damien out of the hall.

"Who’s your brother?" He asked, puzzled by her referring to him as her brother while dragging him away.

"Well, obviously, you are not my husband. What else could I have said?" she replied, keeping her eyes fixed on their destination.

Damien didn’t bother answering the question and allowed her to lead him away. He was tired of the concert anyway, it was time to leave.

"Dami! I almost missed you. When are we going on our date?" The lady from earlier intercepted their path just as they were about to exit the hall.

She wore a seductive smile, but her gaze turned disdainful when she noticed Aurora’s hand wrapped around Damien’s arm.

"Ahh," Aurora exclaimed, realizing the reason for the glare, and quickly withdrew her hand from Damien’s arm.

However, Damien took hold of her hand and said, "I never promised you a date. I have a girlfriend now." His smile sent a shiver down Aurora’s spine, it looked eerie. She wondered if he ever smiled at all, considering how awkward he seemed.

Caught off guard, she burst into laughter. "Sorry, I just remembered something," she apologized and hid behind Damien’s back, fearing the ballerina lady’s glare.

She didn’t want to complicate things by making it appear as though she was preventing the ballerina lady from pursuing Damien. So, for tonight, she chose to be a coward. If only she could tell the lady to flirt with him all she wanted and that she meant nothing to Damien.

"Goodnight," Damien gestured, once again attempting to lead Aurora away.

"Hmm, we are not dating, so don’t misunderstand," Aurora whispered as she passed by the ballerina lady before being whisked away to the car.

Confused, the ballerina lady frowned, wondering what Aurora meant by ’not misunderstanding.’ Was she rubbing Damien’s cold attitude in her face, or was she trying to help her win Damien over?

Whatever the case, she didn’t need any assistance in getting Damien. Even if he were married, she wouldn’t stop pursuing him. Eventually, he would succumb to her advances.

"Why are you so cold to her? It’s obvious she likes you," Aurora asked as they rode away, sounding like a concerned mother.

Damien didn’t reply and kept his gaze fixed on the front of the car. She tutted and turned away, giving him the cold shoulder.

Remembering something, she cleared her throat and faced him. "Thanks for bringing me here tonight. I loved it," she said, genuinely expressing her gratitude.

Damien turned his body to face her but struggled to find the right words. He wasn’t accustomed to forming relationships with women, which made things awkward.

"I did it for myself," he finally said, the awkwardness evident in his voice.

"Sure, you did!" Aurora nodded and giggled, expecting such a response. The fact that he didn’t say anything harsh was comforting.

Suddenly, her stomach growled, indicating her hunger. She covered her face, embarrassed by the noisy rumbling, and fell silent.

"Stop at a nearby restaurant," Damien instructed the driver, who nodded in response.

"You don’t have to..." Aurora began, but Damien shot her a glare. "Alright," she relented and remained quiet until they reached a restaurant.

Minutes later, they finished eating, with Damien watching Aurora eat while not touching anything himself.

Without wasting any more time, they began driving back to the mansion after filling Aurora’s stomach. Aurora felt alive like she hadn’t in years.

She had never gone on an outing with Lucas before. She thought about how wonderful it was to go out and date. Wait, was this like a date?

"Don’t you like ballet?" Aurora asked, thinking back to Damien’s impassive attitude during the emotionally charged show.

"It’s a waste of time," he replied, his voice devoid of hesitation. Aurora felt sorry for him, he seemed like such a bore.

"You should try doing more enjoyable things and see how interesting they can be," Aurora suggested, then asked Enoch for a tablet. He handed it to her, wondering what she had in mind.

"Look, these are old ballet performances. My favorite is Swan Lake because of its sadness and emotional depth," she said, searching for information on ballet and extending the tablet to Damien to show him.

"I see you are full of energy today," he taunted, causing her to withdraw the tablet. She was only trying to have fun, why did he always have to make things difficult?

"I am always full of energy," she retorted, scoffing at him.

"I hope you still have energy left for my bedroom tonight," he teased.

Her face turned red, and her body grew hot from his suggestive words. He smirked, delighted to see her reaction.

"Alpha, we are being trailed," Enoch informed.

Just as he was about to instruct the driver to break the speed limit, a car went crashing into theirs.

*Screech*
