Chapter 201: End the madness once and for all

"Alpha, Alpha Lucas has arrived with his men!" One of Damien’s men rushed into the pack house, delivering the news with a grin on Damien’s face.

"But there’s a problem," the man added with a frown, prompting Damien to motion for him to come closer.

"He’s with Luna Aurora," the man reported, and chaos erupted instantly. How could Lucas have captured Aurora so easily? Something felt off, and his people might be in danger, he needed to send a message across immediately.

"Where is Lucas now?" Damien asked.

"Just outside the gate," the man responded, and Damien nodded.

Remembering the balcony overlooking the gate, Damien headed there and quickly spotted Lucas. His anger surged when he saw no sign of Aurora.

"Well, look who it is, the arrogant Alpha," Lucas taunted when he noticed Damien and laughed loudly.

"Oh, is this what you are looking for?" He dragged Aurora by the neck to face Damien. Damien gripped the railing tightly, wishing he could rip Lucas apart.

"I am fine," Aurora mouthed repeatedly, but it did nothing to soothe Damien’s anger.

"Alpha Damien, I think it’s time we settle our scores. But unfortunately, I am not inclined to release my mate!" Lucas shouted so Damien could hear him clearly.

"Lucas, you won’t get away with this," Aurora warned, glaring at him as she yanked herself free from his grasp.

"Oh, I never intended to. My goal is to have you for myself. That woman is old enough to join my father, she’s not important," he responded, filling Aurora with disgust.

How could anyone be so vile? He didn’t even care about his mother and would sacrifice her to get what he wanted, just like he did five years ago.

"You disgust me," she spat, turning away in revulsion.

"No, baby, you will have no choice once your mate is dead," he said with an eerie smile, kissing her cheek and dragging his mouth across her neck in a revolting manner.

"You bastard! Let me go!" Aurora struggled to evade his kiss, pushing him away.

"Lucas, I will kill you!!" Damien shouted, unable to contain his rage any longer, and stormed off the balcony.

"Your mate sounds serious. Should I be scared?" Lucas mocked.

"I will kill you myself if he doesn’t," Aurora replied, tears streaming down her face, with her fists clenched. She might have set aside her plan to avenge her parents, but she wouldn’t leave this pack without killing Lucas.

"I have got the evidence. What’s the situation outside?" Dave asked, handing Damien a flash drive as he arrived.

"Lucas has Aurora. We won’t be using Plan A anymore, we will attack at dawn," Damien ordered, clenching the drive in his hand.

"How did he manage that? Shouldn’t someone check on the situation at home?" Dave suggested, worried. If Lucas had succeeded in capturing Aurora, it meant their pack was in danger.

With Enoch and Scarlet to protect her, how could he have even managed to kidnap her? Was there a spy in the pack? It couldn’t be, as Damien could detect a foul smell in a second, talk more like a spy.

"I will send someone," taking the words out of Damien’s mouth, Dave said and left his side.

Damien had not expected things to go that way, but since it had come to this, it was time to end the duel once and for all. He was at an advantage knowing Lucas wouldn’t harm Aurora and only wanted her for himself.

So if he attacked, Aurora would be safe, the real fight was between them both. It was time to end the madness once and for all, this wasn’t a real fight, to begin with.

"Gather our men," he instructed a guard.

At dawn.

"Alpha, there has been no movement in hours, should we attack them now?" Lucas’s beta, informed, making a suggestion.

"I am not a coward, we would fight them boldly, let them come." Arrogantly, Lucas said and dismissed his beta.

Just then, a noise was heard causing Lucas to frown.

"Who are those morons fighting?" Annoyed, he asked and one of his men rushed in with blood all over his body.

"What the hell?" Lucas quickly stood up to his feet and approached the injured man, helping him up.

"It is Alpha Damien, we are under attack!!" The man relayed and fell weakly to the floor.

"Damien!!! I will kill you today!" Lucas yelled and started making his way out of the tent but halted when he remembered the unconscious Aurora lying on his bed. He had drugged her to avoid dealing with her tantrums but was regretting his actions now.

"I will fight alone, do not leave her side until I am back." He commanded his beta and finally left the tent.

Confirming the departure of his Alpha, Lucas’s beta moved closer to Aurora and tapped on her shoulders twice.

"He is gone," he said, informing her of the situation at hand.

Aurora slowly opened her eyes and sat up, straightening her now rumbled gown.

"Peter, thank you so much." Aurora expressed gratitude toward Lucas’s beta and smiled at him.

Peter had always been fond of her since the first time she was brought into Lucas’s pack as his mate, he always kept her company whenever she was bored.

"I am sorry for being a coward five years ago," going on his knees, Peter apologized for not helping her back then but Aurora understood him and helped him up.

"There was nothing you could have done, you can’t go against your oath." She said and smiled at him to show that she wasn’t angry at him.

A beta can go against its Alpha, it would be seen as treason and he could lose his family in the process. Though she despised him and everyone else who abandoned her then, growing up made her realize they wouldn’t have done much.

They would end up like her which she wouldn’t want.

"I won’t be able to fight with Alpha Damien but I will safely bring you over to their side." He disclosed and Aurora nodded her head in understanding.

"You didn’t drug me, and now you are helping me escape. This is more than enough but what about Lucas?" She asked.

"I either die or live for my Alpha, I will join him in battle once you are safe," Peter responded and Aurora knew there was nothing she could say to change his mind.

Enoch would do the same for Damien just like every other beta would die for their Alpha.

"I will take your family to my pack."
