Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night
Chapter 200: The last laugh

Chapter 200: The last laugh

At the border of Damien’s pack...

"Alpha, a messenger from home!" Lucas’s beta burst into the tent, panic evident in his voice as he awaited orders.

Lucas stared blankly, wondering what could have happened and how his mother had discovered his location. He had lied to her about where he was, how had she outsmarted him again?

That woman would never let him have his moment. She was always finding a way to outshine her son. Sometimes, he wished he could eliminate her, but her connections and power could prove useful in the future. He planned to wrest those from her before disposing of her. Reuniting with his biological father would be the ultimate way to repay her for everything.

"Bring me the message," he ordered, but his beta hesitated, standing still. Lucas raised an eyebrow, questioning him silently.

"He refuses to deliver the message unless he sees you in person," the beta revealed, which enraged Lucas. Was his mother trying to undermine his authority in front of his men?

Clenching his jaw, he grudgingly ordered, "Let the messenger in," and tossed aside the book he had been holding.

She always found a way to belittle him. If only he hadn’t let her control him five years ago, he wouldn’t have lost Aurora, and they would be ruling his pack together by now.

Speaking of Aurora, before his beta could leave, he added, "Send one of our men to check on the situation in town. Those fools might be gathering evidence already." He then dismissed the beta.

"Yes, Alpha."

Two minutes later, the beta returned with the messenger.

Lucas noticed something odd about the messenger’s appearance but said nothing, instead instructing him to approach.

"I bring news from Alpha Damien," the messenger announced, and the words jolted Lucas from his seat. Shocked, he loomed over the messenger, demanding, "A message from Damien, from my pack? Are you one of his men?"

"Yes, Alpha Lucas. Alpha Damien has taken control of your pack. I am here with a message for you," the messenger replied, extending a small container for Lucas to take.

Hesitant, Lucas eyed the item before finally accepting it from the messenger.

When he opened it, his eyes widened at the sight of a severed finger. He pulled it out for closer inspection.

"Mother!" His senses went on high alert as he detected his mother’s blood on the finger, and his mind spiraled into chaos.

Grabbing his sword, he roared and struck down the messenger in a single blow.

"How dare you, Damien?!" He bellowed, his rage echoing through the tent, causing concern among his men outside.

"What is wrong with your Alpha again?" Frustrated, one of the men inquired, getting fed up with his increasing tantrums each day.

"I wish I knew," another man responded and they all grew concerned.

Whenever Lucas went into a rage, they would always be the ones bearing the consequences. He would transfer aggression to them and that might cost them a lot as usual.

Sometimes, they wished they could escape from his pack and find a better pack but they had sworn to protect their Alpha. Breaking the path would render them useless as no pack would accept them if they knew of their origin.

If that happens, they will become rogues and outcasts forever. The chances of them finding a new pack were very low so they were stuck with their insane Alpha forever.

"Alpha, please calm down. Yelling is not the solution, your mother is in danger, we need to think of a plan now." Lucas’s beta reasoned, trying to calm him from doing something extreme.

"I should be calm when I don’t know what is happening at my pack?!" Raising his voice, he bared his fangs at his beta and questioned.

"This is exactly the reaction Damien wants from you and that is his advantage." Boldly, Lucas’s beta stood by his words and pointed out, causing Lucas to halt for a minute.

His beta words sank into his mind and he realized what he meant. Damien was probably rejoicing over his reaction, he would never let that bastard get what he wanted.

Embarrassed, he turned his back against his beta and dropped his head in shame. This was not how he expected everything to turn out, that smart Damien was just too strategic. He should have planted a spy on him instead of in town. But knowing the type of man Damien was, it wouldn’t take time before the spy was caught.

"What should we do?" After calming down, he asked.

"Rushing back home now is not a good idea, let’s give it until tomorrow morning. You have to be composed when you face Alpha Damien, looking tense would only give him the upper hand. Being rational would prevent you from making hasty decisions when confronted with them." His beta suggested and Lucas agreed with it.

He can’t face Damien in this state, he would lose it in front of Damien. That arrogant bastard was never one to panic, that was why he hated him. He was just too perfect for his liking and it made him feel stupid.

"What of our men?" He inquired.

They couldn’t possibly leave with all their men?

"That’s exactly why Alpha Damien wants you back. You can choose to leave some of them to die here, or take them back with you and win the war there." Giving him two choices, he disclosed.

"Then I need to find a way to leave with Aurora, find me a good costume to wear." Making up his mind, he instructed and smirked. Since it was going to be this way, he would go all in with this fight.

It was a win for him anyway, he gets to secure Aurora and his pack.

"But Alpha..." cutting his beta off, he sternly threatened," Get me the costumes or lose your tongue while trying to convince me otherwise."

"Yes Alpha," bowing his head slightly, Lucas’s beta shut his mouth and left the tent.

"Let’s see who gets the last laugh,"
