"Did you come up with this plan yourself?" Aurora asked in amazement as she examined the map that outlined Damien’s strategy. It was truly a brilliant idea, and if everything went as planned, not only would they emerge victorious, but Lucas’s pack might also end up with a new, more competent Alpha.

Now that she considered it, Lucas didn’t deserve to be an Alpha. If he was willing to endanger the lives of his people just to satisfy his ego, he was capable of much worse. By the time his pack would rise against him, he would be unstoppable.

"Dave and Enoch helped with the road routes, but the strategies are all mine. I have always wanted to create a plan like this, but no Alpha has ever dared to ambush me...until Lucas," Damien said.

Aside from a few minor issues with Edward and some weaker Alphas, he had never faced a serious attack.

"I see, so..." Aurora began to speak, but suddenly felt nauseous and hurried to the bathroom.

Alarmed, Damien called after her, "Aurora!" His heart raced at the thought that she might have been poisoned. If anything happened to her, he would make sure Lucas paid with his life.

"Blegh, blegh," Aurora threw up violently with Damien at her side.

"What is it? Are you in pain? What’s happening?" Damien bombarded her with questions, almost causing her to roll her eyes while she vomited. Why was he being so dramatic over her simply throwing up?

After a while, she stopped and rinsed her mouth with water.

"Are you okay?" Damien asked, still worried, as he supported her with his hand on her back.

"It’s probably just malaria. I am fine," she assured him, but just as he was about to respond, she fainted.

"Aurora!"

"Congratulations, Alpha. Our Luna is pregnant." The doctor stepped away from the unconscious Aurora, who lay on the bed and approached Damien, bowing his head as he delivered the news.

Damien gasped, his expression blank as he stared at Aurora. ’She’s pregnant?’ The words echoed in his mind, and he could hardly contain the joy swelling within him.

He was going to be a father, and it was with the woman he loved. For years, he had avoided love, resigning himself to the idea of starting a family with someone he didn’t care for. If anyone had told him he would one day find love, he would have laughed in their face. Now, he wondered if this was how Enoch felt when Scarlet became pregnant. It made him think about how Enoch had managed to cope with the loss of their child and still move forward.

In that moment, nothing else mattered. He couldn’t wait to hold his baby in his arms.

"Alpha?" The doctor called, noticing Damien’s silence.

"Thank you, Doctor. Please come to my study in two hours," Damien ordered, dismissing him.

Once the doctor left, Damien went to sit beside Aurora on the bed and picked up her hand. Staring affectionately at her, he pecked the back of her hand and smiled.

"Our baby boy is coming. Though I wish for a baby girl, I hope our baby boy didn’t hear that." He whispered and dropped his hand on her still flat tummy.

He was going to be the happiest man on earth in the next 9 months, and if only this stupid war was already over. Low key, he was happy she got pregnant, he could use that as an excuse to change her mind.

Who wouldn’t want to protect their child? The motherly instincts would overrule her selflessness, and he wouldn’t have to worry about persuading her.

"You don’t know how much joy you have brought into my life." Lowering his head, he pecked her forehead and left the room after glancing at her one more time.

Leaving her room, Damien went in search of Scarlet as he didn’t know who he could tell without having the news leak. It would be best to keep it out of so many ears now that Lucas was still at their borders.

Who knows? He could change his target and directly come after their baby.

"What are you doing out here?" Getting to Scarlet’s room, he met Enoch pacing about the front of Scarlet’s room. Had they fought again? Urghh, those two could not do without fighting despite loving each other so much.

"Alpha!! What are you doing here?" He returned his question with a question.

"I need to see Scarlet, is she asleep?" Without paying much attention to it, Damien answered and moved to enter the room only to be blocked off by Damien.

"What are you doing?" Frowning his face, Damien asked.

"You can punish me instead, I can’t allow you to harm her." He said, going to his knees to plead.

"I am not here to punish anyone, Aurora is pregnant and I need her help, idiot." Sighing, he revealed, causing Enoch to look into his eyes shockingly.

"Luna is pregnant?!" Rising, he questioned, marveling at the good news. The two best friends got pregnant at the same time, though Scarlet’s own was earlier.

"Yes now, can I pass?" Hastily, he responded.

"Oh sure Alpha," moving away from the door, he answered and Damien shook his head at Enoch’s hopeless look.

Aurora was right, Enoch wouldn’t be able to hurt a fly in this condition. He wasn’t even courageous enough to face her, such a hopeless man.

"I said I do not want to see your face!!" Yelling, Scarlet was about to throw her slippers at the intruder that she thought was Enoch only to halt when she saw Damien standing in front of her.

"Even pregnancy can’t stop your tempers," he commented and she grumpily dropped her slippers to the floor.

"If you are here to punish me, you would have to wait until I give birth to my child." Unbothered, she said and he chuckled, irking her.

What was funny? Why was everyone annoying her?

"I wish I could, but I am not here for that. Well, your friend is pregnant and you were the only one I could think of to get help from." He revealed and she covered her mouth in shock.

"Aurora is pregnant?! OMS!! How? At the same time? Where is she? Let’s go see her,"
