Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night -
Chapter 192: Pregnant
Chapter 192: Pregnant
"Ahhh," a scream erupted from one of Lucas’s men as a muscled figure twisted his arm harshly.
After the dust cleared from her eyes, Aurora gasped when she saw that it was Damien, and out of fear, she hesitated before walking up to him.
"Damien, I..." Cutting her off, he turned to meet her gaze and it made her gulp down in fear. His gaze was dark and he looked bloodthirsty, causing her to take a step back. Not that she was afraid of him, but it would be unwise to provoke a hungry wolf.
"Who knew my mate had plans to follow her ex," angered, he muttered, feeling both betrayed and jealous that she would even consider meeting up with Lucas behind his back.
"This is not what it looks like, I wanted to find a way to stop Lucas and that was why I came out. This war is killing your people and it can’t go on like this," raising her head to meet his gaze, she started, clarifying things.
Scoffing, Damien bit his lips and said, "’Your people?’" Emphasizing her phrasing of words.
"You can’t possibly be overthinking that right? I am not yet their Luna, how can I claim them now?" Justifying her choice of words, she questioned, finding him unbelievable.
"Did you consider yourself their Luna?" He inquired.
"I...I don’t know," cluelessly, she responded, not knowing what to say. After getting betrayed by her first mate, the least she could do was not hope. Not that she didn’t trust Damien or could not trust him, but it would be better to not expect anything, after all, Lucas could be right.
"Do you still consider yourself your ex’s mate?" With a blank expression, he asked.
"What? I am not willing to answer your absurd questions. Scarlet is injured, we need to get her out of here for treatment first." Waving his questions, she said and walked away from him, trying her best not to shed tears. She was never going to let him know his accusations hurt her, she was going to keep it in and endure everything.
"Aurora," Damien called, his gaze softening when he realized his mistakes. The dominating urge came over him and he didn’t know when he started getting overly possessive. He just hated the thought of seeing Aurora with another man, she was all for him alone and he wanted to make sure it was so.
"Damien, not now." Controlling herself, she said and didn’t stop until she reached Scarlet’s side.
"I am sorry, Scarlet. You are safe now," getting down on her knees, she made Scarlet rest on her and started saying soothing words.
"Take her," Damien ordered Enoch who had just appeared, and the latter stared at Damien for a minute before retrieving Scarlet from Aurora. He knew Damien was only sparing Scarlet because of him and he would have killed her if she wasn’t his mate.
They have had their differences but this was enough to kill her, Scarlet deserved it.
"Aurora!" Rushing to her side before she could fall to the ground, Damien called and immediately wrapped her in his embrace.
"I am sorry," he pleaded and pecked her forehead.
Aurora leaned into his embrace and remained silent until they got back to the pack house.
Scarlet was tended to and the doctor revealed that she was pregnant, and that was why she fainted from that minor push.
"How many weeks?" Enoch panicked as he asked, unaware of how to receive that information. The memory of the child they lost was still vivid in his memory, and the first thought that came to his mind was if he could take care of their baby.
He did promise to have children with her but now that she is pregnant, he is suddenly not so sure of himself anymore.
"Three weeks gone, she must have known she was pregnant judging by her system. From her pulse, she has not been taking anything harmful to the baby," the doctor disclosed causing Enoch to gasp in fear. Covering his mouth, he started pacing about and thought of how it must have felt to keep the truth hidden from him.
Could it be that she hadn’t trusted him fully? Or was she trying to protect their baby from the war?
"Thank you, doctor. Can you send someone tomorrow morning to check up on her?" Seeing as Enoch wasn’t himself, Aurora butted in and said, dismissing the doctor.
"I am sure she didn’t mean to hide it from you, I was also not aware of the fact," Aurora said, trying to convince him.
"No, she did the right thing by not telling anyone but I won’t let her carry the burden alone this time around. We would leave to start a new home elsewhere," making a decision, Enoch said and smiled.
Aurora was happy for them and smiled, glancing at Scarlet one more time before leaving them alone. Scarlet would want to see Enoch first once she was awake so she would check on her later.
Lost in her thoughts, Aurora mindlessly walked back to her room, ignoring her surroundings until she was suddenly carried off the ground and tossed over a shoulder.
"That marks the end of your game today," Damien spoke and didn’t give her a chance to speak before walking away.
Getting to his room, he locked it after them and walked them up to the bed. Dropping her on it, he removed her shoes and his and climbed on the bed with her.
"Damie..." cutting her off, he shushed her with a finger over her lips and pecked them.
"I have had a rough day, let’s suspend the discussions until tomorrow morning." He said, rubbing circles on her back.
"What of your men at the border?" Worriedly, she asked.
"We won today, Lucas won’t be able to fight us for the next two days." He relayed and she sighed in relief.
Maybe she was worrying too much for nothing, after all, Damien would never lose to a stupid Alpha like Lucas.
