Chapter 191: Lucas’s birth

Lucas assumed that secret was completely safe, he never knew Aurora was aware of his infidelity.

"I know a lot of things, Lucas. I know the reason you did not take my side when you could have." In truth, he was the one who betrayed Aurora by sleeping with another woman, but he knew if he defended her against the accusations, his affair with his mistress would be exposed.

"You know nothing Aurora, you can choose not to believe me but nothing is going to stop me from claiming you now. You were always mine and would always be mine," he said, his gaze, darkening as he neared Aurora.

Shaking her head, Aurora took a step back and stared at him with contempt. She should have known this was all about his ego, and he had not changed a bit. He only wants her back because he didn’t want her to be happy with another man, it was not because he was apologetic.

"I should have realized, this was never about repentance. But I am sorry to disappoint you, not even my dead body will follow you back to your pack." She promised, readying herself to move if he launched at her, as she cautiously took a few steps back.

"Then you must be foolish to have come here alone," saying that, his expression changed to that of a maniac’s own and he started chuckling that scared Aurora.

Seeing that the man in front of her was not ready to comply, she struck a deal, "Alpha Lucas, if you willingly leave my mate’s pack, I promise to keep the secret of your birth forever." Shocking Lucas with the information he thought was buried.

Halting, he frowned and asked, "How? What do you know?" Hurriedly taking a step forward to grab her arm only to be yanked off by Scarlet.

"Take your filthy hands off her!!" Scarlet yelled, baring her fingers to attack if Lucas remained adamant.

"I told you I know a lot of things, Alpha Lucas. That day, I spilled tea on my gown and had to change my gown. That was when I stumbled upon you and your mother arguing in your corridor," Aurora revealed, completely shocking Lucas with how detailed her memory was.

"Why did you never tell me?!" Yelling, he questioned, feeling betrayed by her.

"So you can kill me like your men, and those who dared to know? No Lucas, I am not that stupid, and I was in love, I didn’t care. I thought nothing mattered as long as we were mates and you were a good Alpha. If only I had exposed you and your mother, my parents would have survived the untimely death," she said, shedding tears when she recalled her dead parents.

She always wished Lucas happiness and he took the one thing that gave her joy, her parents.

"That information can ruin me and my mother," he said and she scoffed.

"You killed my parents, Lucas! But you care about you and your mother losing a position? How stupid of me to think you would ever realize your wrongdoings. You deserve every bad thing in this world," she spat.

"I was born to rule, your parent’s lives are nothing compared to my position." As expected, he felt no remorse and a part of her rejoiced in that fact. At least, she could ruin his life with no guilt, she had given him too many chances and she was done playing victims.

"I need to leave before my mate senses my absence. So choose, end this unnecessary war now, or risk your position? I can easily get the evidence needed through to your pack elders, so don’t take me for a fool." Going straight to the point, she opined, letting him know that playing smart would not help him.

Honestly, she had no way to pass the information but if she managed to leave here, she would relay the information to Damien and that was the end for Lucas.

"No Aurora, you have none of that. My guess is, once you manage to escape me now, you will go and tattletale to that hypocrite mate of yours." As if guessing her thoughts, he disclosed, causing Aurora to panic.

He was not gullible after all, good for him.

"You wouldn’t dare kidnap me or Damien will find you and tear your limbs apart." Acting tough, she threatened, trying to scare him.

"Baby girl, that’s an empty threat." Bursting into laughter, he mocked.

"Oh shit, he brought backup." Lucas’s men came out of the trees and Scarlet cursed under her breath when she spotted them.

"Grab her," pointing his hand at Aurora, he took a few steps back and ordered.

He was going to kill two birds with one stone, she was foolish to have come alone. As for her friend, he would leave her barely enough to see another day. That would serve as a reminder to never cross him once he successfully brings Aurora back to his pack.

"Stay away, you fools!!!" Scarlet yelled at the men, grabbed Aurora’s hand, and ran for their lives.

"Don’t let them escape!!" Lucas gave his order and his men ran after Aurora and Scarlet.

"Satisfied? Your mate is going to kill me if there is a scratch on your..." before Scarlet could complete her sentence, she was sent flying and landed with her back against the floor, sending her unconscious.

"Scarlet!!!" Aurora exclaimed, about walking up to the unconscious Scarlet when Lucas’s men grabbed her.

"Let me go!!!" Struggling against their hold, she commanded, not caring if she got injured in the process.

"Please let me go!!!" She started pleading when her words were going through deaf ears, and tears started streaming through her eyes when she couldn’t do anything to defend herself.

If only she had listened to Scarlet, then Scarlet wouldn’t be in that situation. She would never forgive herself if anything happened to Scarlet, and neither would she forgive Lucas.

She would have hesitated before taking her life five years ago, but now, as long as she is done killing Lucas, she would follow suit.

"Please, just let me go." Breaking down, she muttered, her voice losing its vigor.

Suddenly, a gust of wind took her off guard and she fell before she could fathom what was happening.
