Chapter 184: Wage war against his pack

"Bring him to my study room," Enoch came to relay the information, and Damien ordered.

"Make sure no one comes here," glancing at Aurora one last time, he commanded and left the room with Enoch. It was time to face that bastard, it would be fun annoying Lucas.

"You don’t have to stay with us, go and meet Scarlet. She looked angry when I saw her earlier," Damien instructed, remembering the look on Scarlet’s face in the dining room. She looked bothered and now that he had a mate, he knew they needed attention.

"I can do that later," afraid of a fight erupting, he refused.

"It is a command," halting, Damien turned to face Enoch and coldly instructed.

Enoch knew he couldn’t disobey an Alpha’s order, so he retreated and bowed slightly before leaving his sight. He was right, there is no conflict he wouldn’t deal with later. Women are problematic, it is best to find out what is wrong with Scarlet before it escalates.

Getting to his study room, Lucas was already sitting even though it was inappropriate to sit when the Alpha was yet to arrive. But then, he was also an Alpha, it would be unnecessary to fight him over it.

"I see you have already made yourself comfortable," remarking, he said and went to sit directly opposite Lucas.

"I grew tired of standing," he said and firmly smiled.

"Really? So sorry for keeping you waiting," sarcastically, Damien responded and smiled back.

"It is fine, I am here for a reason and I will go straight to the point." He started and Damien nodded his head as a gesture for him to proceed, "Miss Aurora was once my mate, you have been deceived." Then declared.

He was expecting to see a shocked or angry expression on Damien’s face, but unexpectedly he was calm and didn’t look surprised. What was going on?

"Did you hear me?" Confirming that Damien heard what he said, he asked and Damien chuckled darkly which took Lucas aback. He knew Damien acted like a psychopath at times, but wasn’t this reaction abnormal? He was talking about Aurora, the one he assumed to be his mate.

"I heard you out loud and clear Alpha Lucas, but where is your evidence?" He asked and stretched out his hand as if to receive something.

"I am the evidence and what’s with that reaction..." halting, he scoffed when he realized the situation. Damien was aware of the fact that he was Aurora’s mate, but why was he comfortable with it?

"You know," he said and Damien smiled.

"She is my mate, of course, I know everything about her. Now where is the evidence to back your claim?" Nonchalantly, he said and demanded, his expression carefree.

Angry, Lucas clenched his fist and was about to snap at Damien when he suddenly remembered he could not declare any fight yet until it was certain Damien wouldn’t cooperate with him.

"Like I said, the evidence is me. And since you already know everything, I am here to ask that you release my mate." He said, causing Damien to burst into laughter at how stupid he sounded. He knew Lucas would be unreasonable but wasn’t he being foolish right now?

"You rejected her years back, and she did the same which means you are no longer mates. And I don’t care if you believe me, we are mates." Damien said.

"Can you even listen to yourself? Can a werewolf have two mates?" Thinking Damien was lying to him, he asked.

"Why ask me? Selena Goddess granted her a mate, a mate that would love her, unlike the first beast she was mated to." Damien said, intentionally getting at him so Lucas could lose it.

"Watch your tongue, Alpha Damien, you would have done the same if you were in my shoes. Don’t act so kind," warning, he said and it made Damien scoff in disbelief. Was Lucas kidding him right now? Who would hurt his mate to the extent of torturing her, and selling her out like she was nothing to him? He even watched as her parents were killed over an accusation that wasn’t confirmed to be true, how do we justify that?

"Don’t give excuses for your mistakes, you should have made investigations before taking any action. But you never truly loved her and blindly believed the accusations, do you still believe you were right?" Reasoning, Damien listed out his wrongdoings and for a minute, Damien could spot the regret on his face before they went back to normal.

"I do acknowledge my mistakes but I want to fix them now and I need my mate, hand her over to me." With an authoritative tone, he demanded and it got Damien annoyed.

"She is not your mate anymore, remember that. And we are now mates, how can I hand my mate over? Are you trying to be funny? You already have a pregnant mate yet you want her?" Refusing, he said. If he wasn’t a selfish person, why would he want to take back the mate he rejected himself?

"I can discard Juliet, it is Aurora I truly want. Alpha Damien, let’s settle this amicably. Would you deprive me of my mate?" Calling Aurora his mate made Damien lose it completely.

"Such a miserable being, get out of my office before I call in people to drag you out." Commanding, he said and Lucas grabbed his shirt instead.

"Are you trying to wage war against my pack by refusing me?" Gritting his teeth, he threatened but Damien was not fazed and replied, "So be it."

Stunned, Lucas shook his head and scoffed before letting go of Damien’s shirt.

"I will make you regret this and wipe off that arrogant look on your face." He promised but Damien only found him funny. Even while they studied, Lucas had never been able to defeat him.

"Be my guest," annoying him more, Damien said and Lucas grunted frustratedly before walking out of Damien’s study room.
