Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night
Chapter 146: Wedding dress

Chapter 146: Wedding dress

Waking up, Aurora yawned and stretched her hands, her eyes still closed. She felt so relaxed and free...hold on, free?

Opening her eyes, she looked under the duvet and widened her eyes when she saw the state she was in. She had never slept with only her panties on, she always wore a nightgown. Just when she was about to look around her, a sleepy moan startled her, making her look up.

Damien!! She screamed inwardly, wondering how she got in bed with him almost naked. Had they done the deed yesterday night? But how? She remembered sobbing into his hands and, oh no, she slept off.

He would never take advantage of her, what was going on? Looking at his sleepy face, she didn’t feel like waking him up as he looked so comfortable and relaxed.

She was tempted to trace his face with her fingers, but stopped herself from making a mistake. Watching him sleep so peacefully, made her doubt he was the same cold man who always hurt her.

Unable to resist touching him anymore, she traced her finger along his eyebrow, dragging it down to his nose till she got to his mouth, making her withdraw her hands immediately.

His lips were soft and warm, she wondered if it was the same lips that took hers yesterday.

’Focus Aurora!’ Scolding herself inwardly, she rebuked, and shook her head repeatedly, warding off the silly thoughts.

His face was perfectly shaped, devoid of rashes or scars, it was all too perfect that she wondered how he evaded being scarred.

A lady like herself had more scars compared to an Alpha like him, a warrior at that. Was there a special cream he used to clear off the scars?

Sighing, she removed the duvet, wanting to sleep out of the bed to look for her clothes but was suddenly yanked back into a strong embrace.

"It is rude to leave one’s partner in bed without a morning kiss?" He said, his eyes still closed.

He was becoming more and more shameless and she was starting to get used to it, but she wasn’t sure she could endure being teased in public as Damien was capable of anything.

"We are not partners, yet." She added, not wanting to sound so confident or uncertain. She was going to gain her freedom at all costs, rejecting him was a piece of cake for her.

And it was time she started playing hard to get if she truly wanted to convince him that she didn’t want him. If she allowed him to touch her so easily, then all her plans would be in vain.

A man would only be convinced about a woman’s affection towards him if she was uncomfortable under his touch. She smiled inwardly, thinking of how disappointed he would be when she rejected him.

"But we are sharing a bed," he noted and she smiled.

"You know who else shares a bed? Siblings," saying that, she wrapped the duvet around her body and got out of bed, leaving him uncovered on the bed. Damien was amused by her reply and couldn’t help admiring her again.

How had she gotten so sharp in one night? He knew she was trying so hard not to fall in love with him but it only compelled him to chase her more. She was a rabbit prey, but was now a fox prey he would enjoy hunting down.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked, his hands folded in front of him, as he watched her intently.

"I did, thanks for sharing your bed. Alpha," she answered, keeping things polite.

If that was how she wanted to play it, then it was cool with him.

Aurora looked around for her things but could only find her gown so she left his room, hoping to retrieve the bra later and get prepared for the day first.

Going back to her room, Scarlet was already waiting for her, the latter gazing out of the window calmly.

"Look who is shameless now," Scarlet said, teasing Aurora for walking with only a duvet on her body. Scarlet was not shocked, she knew where Aurora was coming from.

"It’s not what you think," she quickly said, wanting to explain herself but Scarlet was having none of it.

"Really? Then do you have to be completely naked for it to be what I think?" She teased, giggling. She loved how skilled she was getting back at Aurora. Aurora knew she was getting back at her for this morning, and didn’t bother arguing her way out.

"What do you need?" She asked, walking further into the room.

"It might be a secluded wedding but Theresa insists I get a bridesmaid. I know you don’t like attention so I am here to seek your permission first?" Scarlet started, explaining why she was in Aurora’s room.

The wedding plans started cool until more people got to know about it, making the plans escalate. Theresa was always a believer in harmony, she believed if one chose a partner, then he or she shouldn’t be shy to show the world their partner. It was an indication of love, that only she believed in.

"I thought it was just a private wedding?" Confused, Aurora asked.

"Well, yes. Until Theresa and the rest got to know, I am so exhausted." Expressing her frustration, Scarlet answered, going to sit on the bed with a defeated look. She never wanted any of this now and back then, but she had no choice as they were her only family.

Theresa had been a mother figure to her since she came into the mansion, she couldn’t refuse her what she wanted.

"Ohh, are you comfortable with it?" Aurora inquired.

"No, but what choice do I have?" Falling to the bed, Scarlet fell on her back and ran her hands through her hair.

"Then why don’t you tell her? I am sure Theresa would understand," Aurora suggested, even though it was the obvious solution to the problem.

"It’s not about understanding. It’s just a one-day thing, what matters is that I get to be with Enoch. I just don’t like crowds which is my problem so I have to deal with it myself."

Scarlet offered an explanation that Aurora found reasonable. Typically, weddings were fleeting events, except in Scarlet’s case, where an unfortunate incident called for a second wedding. Not everyone had the fortune of experiencing a second wedding, so enduring challenges became the only solution.

"I will be your bridesmaid," Aurora volunteered, eager to alleviate her best friend’s burden.

"Really? Willingly?" Scarlet questioned with doubt.

"One hundred percent willingly," Aurora affirmed, prompting laughter. As Scarlet had mentioned, it was a brief affair, something they could quickly overcome.

Changing the subject, Aurora asked, "Have you chosen your wedding dress?"

"Theresa will handle that, all I have to do is relax," Scarlet replied, expressing gratitude for Theresa’s assistance.

The previous wedding dress, also chosen by Theresa, had been a last-minute decision due to Scarlet’s initial choices being damaged a day before the wedding. Fortunately, Theresa’s cousin, Liliana, was present and resolved everything.

Considering something, Aurora asked, "What about your first wedding gown? People usually keep them, you could use that instead of waiting for another one."

Scarlet’s expression turned serious, and she sat up, looking regretful.

"I burnt it out of anger," she confessed, feeling ashamed.

Sensing she had touched a sensitive topic, Aurora walked up to Scarlet and sat next to her, saying, "It doesn’t matter, I burnt my mom’s while trying to act like a princess in it." Recalling the memory, Aurora reassured her.

"Seems like our little Aurora wasn’t much of a gentle child after all," Scarlet teased, earning a playful smack. Seeing that Scarlet’s mood had improved, Aurora felt relieved and decided it was time to freshen up.

"Now, give me some privacy, I have to get prepared for the day," Aurora insisted, nudging Scarlet out of her room.

"You could have allowed him to do that for you, or were you shy?" Scarlet teased at the entrance, but Aurora shut the door and headed into her bathroom for a bath.

"I caught you," Scarlet playfully called out before leaving the room.

In the dining room, Dave, Enoch, the Elders, Louis, Theresa, and Damien sat at the table, their plates untouched as they awaited Aurora’s presence. Damien was occupied with overseeing the pack’s construction, and wanted to see Aurora before he left, uncertain of returning in time and concerned she might have fallen asleep.

"Are we here to stare?" Dave asked, growing bored and displeased. He suspected his brother’s delay was connected to Aurora.

"Alpha, are you dissatisfied with the mansion’s food?" An Elder asked, feeling uncomfortable under the prolonged scrutiny.

"I am not, the food always appears delicious each day," Damien responded, though the underlying meaning was evident to all.

"And our Alpha seems to grow more shameless every day," Dave remarked, shaking his head. Little did he expect his brother to openly discuss his fantasies.

"Hey kiddo, persuade your brother to let us eat," he said, addressing Louis.
