Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night
Chapter 138: Lousy brother, Dave

Chapter 138: Lousy brother, Dave

They soon reached the cliff and were safe temporarily from the witches. Louis’s hand was bleeding profusely and he was panicking. He needed his hand to open the portal, otherwise, he was good as useless.

"You have to open the portal now," Enoch said, looking back at the forest to see if the men were coming.

Nodding his head, he stood in a position to summon something then he started chanting, using all his strength to summon a portal but fell backwards when the wound in his arm struck him.

"Are you okay?" Rushing to his side, Aurora asked, inspecting his arm in the process.

"Okay, now what?" Frustrated, Enoch asked, staring at Damien with an annoyed look. Before they were attacked, he and Damien engaged in a discussion of how to leave this world. While Enoch suggested they shouldn’t rely solely on Louis’s portal, Damien insisted, saying he believed in him.

Now the belief was going to kill them all, if Louis didn’t open that portal.

"We fight them off, I take the lead, and you follow." He instructed then walked up to Louis.

"You can always do it, don’t be discouraged. I won’t let my daughter marry a weak man," he assured, joking in the process. Aurora couldn’t help blushing when he talked of the daughter he was yet to have. Thinking about Sarah, she wondered if he was still going to marry her? Well, Scarlet said he was planning to make her his luna, but the heart of a man couldn’t be trusted.

Damien stood up, winked at Louis and walked back into the forest with Enoch, following closely.

"They don’t seem to be versed with magic, they are probably humans trying to develop the powers of the witches, we can try fighting them off," Damien stated his observation and Enoch nodded in response.

Standing up, Louis began opening the portal, rising as he fell. He did it multiple times but the injury was hindering him from creating the perfect portal.

Looking back at the forest, his ego was bruised when he saw Damien and Enoch fighting the men alone. Even when their lives were in danger, they never gave up and were ready to fight. He needed to be a man just like them and prove his worth. He didn’t want to disappoint Damien, so, with a newfound determination, he stood up.

"Witch boy, when are you planning to open this portal?" Scarlet asked, irritated by his sluggishness.

"Scarlet!" Aurora scolded, and the former groaned in frustration.

Dropping her head on Louis’ shoulder, Aurora smiled reassuringly at him and left his side. Feeling better, he exhaled a deep breath, closed his eyes and positioned himself to open the portal.

With every ounce of strength in him, Louis pushed against the portal, widening it ,despite his bleeding hand. He roared, pushing himself to his limit. A thunder struck, alerting Damien and Enoch of the portal and they started inching towards where Louis was.

"He did it," Damien muttered, feeling proud of him.

"Aurora, let’s go!" Grabbing her wrist, Scarlet walked with Aurora into the portal and they vanished.

"Don’t let them escape!" The leader among the men said, urging the men to follow after them.

Damien kicked off one of them and kept on running towards the portal.

"Go in now!" Reaching the portal, Damien ordered Enoch. Hesitating, Enoch looked back at the men Damien was fighting off and eventually walked into the portal.

Damien kicked the man hovering on top of him, and entered the portal with Louis.

Blinking his eyes, Louis attempted to adjust to the brightness of his surroundings. Sitting up, he yawned, relishing the comfort from the nap he just had. He hadn’t slept so well in years, and the bed felt too inviting to leave just yet.

Wait, a bed? Realizing where he was, he got out of bed and surveyed the room. It was strangely spacious and too luxurious for his class. What was happening? Where was he?

Spotting a window, he walked up to it, eyes widening at the beautiful scenery outside. Recollecting the events, he remembered being attacked by witches and escaping with Damien. Speaking of Damien, where was he?

Leaving the window, he sought the exit to the room and approached it, hand directed to the knob. Just as he was about to open it, the door creaked open, revealing Damien.

"Little boss, you are awake?!" Damien greeted, his face lighting up with excitement.

"Did we make it?" Louis asked, relieved to see Damien.

"Are you kidding me? We came back five days ago. We all thought you wouldn’t wake up again," Damien joked, even though Louis didn’t find the last part amusing.

"Come on, it’s too early to frown. Everyone is waiting to see our hero. Freshen up and come downstairs." For some reason, Damien always felt at ease around Louis. He regarded Louis like a brother, a better one than Dave, and he desired to cultivate a close bond between them.

Nodding in response, Louis found his way to the bathroom, gaping in shock at the interior. A bathtub, a shower, and tables filled with bathroom essentials adorned the space. He had always imagined the human world to be this fantastic, unaware that werewolves were now embracing modernization.

Excited, he removed his clothes and immersed himself in the bathtub, letting the cold water wash away his worries. Finally free from the curse and burdens, he could relish life as he pleased.

Grabbing the soap nearby, he scrubbed himself thoroughly, then examined his arm where he remembered being shot. Strangely, there was no trace of the arrow or any injury. It was as if it had... disappeared. He planned to ask Damien about the treatment later, intrigued by their remarkable healing capabilities.

After finishing, he left the room, searching for a way downstairs but found the hall long and the rooms identical, making it difficult to differentiate. What in the world was happening? Why was this house so different from the hut-like structures in the witch’s world?

"Are you looking for something?" He was startled by a passing maid.

"Sorry, I didn’t mean to." Noticing his fear, she apologized, feeling bad for startling him.

"It’s fine, I need to find my way downstairs, how do I get it?" He asked.

"Oh, follow me." She offered, leading him away.

Louis followed her and they soon reached the dining room where everyone was seated, including strange faces.

"He is indeed cute," he heard someone remark and he almost mistook the person for Damien if he hadn’t looked properly. So Damien had a brother?

"Little boss, come here," spotting him, Damien called out to him and directed him toward a space beside Dave. Damien didn’t want Louis sitting beside his lousy brother but all the spaces had been filled up before he arrived.

Nodding his head, Louis went to sit where he was instructed.

"You know, this is our first family dinner after a while, you are so lucky to be here." Leaning closer to him, Dave relayed, smiling at him which made Louis uncomfortable.

He sent Damien a pleading gaze and the latter understood his plight. "Dave, would you love to eat with the pack members?" Damien warned, passing across a message to him.

"The boy likes me, don’t try to separate us," Dave said, glaring at his annoying brother.

"Don’t mind my son, please eat up." Easing the atmosphere, Theresa said, smiling warmly at him and Louis felt better under her gaze. She was better than this weird man beside him.

"Thank you ma," he said and dug into his plate.

"Hmm," he couldn’t hold back the sound as he never tasted something so rich and delicious like this.

Noticing gazes on him, he smiled awkwardly and said, "It is just so delicious," truthfully.

They all busted into laughter except some of the new Elders who were trying hard not to offend the Alpha by making a wrong move.

Aurora had chosen to banish some of the clueless elders who took part in her suffering, and then she ordered Elder jude to be beheaded, showing him no mercy. As for Sarah and her mother, Aurora felt it was stupid to kill people who didn’t see any fault in what they did, so she sent them back to their pack.

Fortunately, the Alpha there wasn’t so pleased with them and had to punish them himself when he heard about what happened here. They were denied their wealth and thrown into the street to survive.

Aurora didn’t feel better but killing them wouldn’t help either way. Damien noticed how distant she had been since they came back, they hadn’t had time to talk because of his duties.

Elyon was freed upon Aurora’s wish, she believed he was innocent, but he was still under house arrest because Damien hadn’t decided his punishment.

He guessed it was time to start taking a step closer to her. Everything in the pack was going back to normal and he was able to restore power back but not completely.

There were still some traitors lurking in the pack, but he was going to fish them all out.
