Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night -
Chapter 131: Dramatic women
Chapter 131: Dramatic women
She tried forming a sentence, but she couldn’t bring herself to ask anything. It was like there was something in her that was hindering her from talking at the moment. So all she could mutter was how.
"You should calm down first and ask me whatever you want to." Damien noticed her confusion, considering her state. He was also surprised to see her, so he could understand what was happening. Even though the dramatic part was quite confusing, women were naturally dramatic, so he didn’t find it annoying.
Aurora was yet to wake, there were plenty of time to answer her questions. And judging from her look, Scarlet wouldn’t hesitate to walk toward their room and break the door down, if she found out that Aurora was there.
Taking a deep breath, she gazed back at him and asked, "Where is Aurora?" That was the only thing bothering her, all other questions could come after.
"She is here but asleep, you can’t see her in this state." He answered, pointing out that she wasn’t stable enough to meet Aurora. The latter was yet to heal completely and he didn’t want her yelling or crying until she was fully healed. Moreover, he wanted to make sure that they left the witches’ world unharmed.
And he was going to do just that, by bringing her back safely. Thinking about the mansion, he wondered who was left in charge if Enoch was here. It was obvious that she was with Enoch, if she was here because only a few knew the way to the witch’s world.
"Where is he?" Referring to Enoch, Damien asked.
"He went out looking for any information on Aurora, I was too hard on him." Answering, she returned to her guilty state and felt bad for making things hard for Enoch. If she hadn’t pressured him, he would have met Damien by now.
She just hoped he was fine, she couldn’t stop worrying about him and badly wanted to see him, before guilt ate her up.
"I would go look for him, do not leave Aurora’s side!" She said, warning him, before making her way toward the inn’s entrance.
"No, you should go to our room and wait till Aurora is awake. She would be happy to see you, I would get Enoch." Holding her hand, he said, offering to do the job instead.
"What? Aurora needs someone to protect her and we both know you can do that better. Why would you leave her? She refused, not agreeing with his arrangement.
"We need to find a way out of here anyways, and my little boss is finding it hard to teleport us out, so I have to go. Louis would protect you, don’t worry, just stay by her side." His words were confusing, as she didn’t know who he was referring to as Louis or Little Boss.
"What the hell are you saying? Who is Louis?" Just as she finished asking, a young boy, old enough to be called a guy came forward.
"It’s me," he replied before Damien could reply, earning a grateful look from him. Now he could leave to find Enoch, leaving Louis behind to deal with Scarlet.
"Okay, I have to go now." Saying that, he swiftly left, not waiting to hear her response. She gritted her teeth, irritated by the fact that those two men never listened to her.
They were always making decisions without informing others, they just couldn’t stop doing it.
Sighing, she turned her body, ready to leave but turned it back to look at the young boy called Louis, finding him interesting.
He looked fair but not too fair and he had the features of humans. If Damien met him here, why didn’t he look like a witch or even had one feature of either side of the witches?
"Because I am not one." He answered her thought, scratching his neck nervously when he realised that he just read her mind, which was rude. He read Damien’s own because of the deal to get his blood. He needed to be sure his client wasn’t going to betray him.
And Damien was making it easy for him, by not shutting off his thoughts. He wanted to ask Damien if he intentionally allowed him to listen to his mind, or if he truly didn’t care.
"Don’t do that, I would kill you!" She hated when people intruded on her privacy, especially not a young boy like him, who knew nothing about life.
"I am sorry, I am just used to it," He apologized.
Glaring down at him, she dusted off her gown in an annoyed manner, and walked away.
Great, he managed to make a bad impression on their first meeting. As he watched her walk away, he wondered about her relationship with the Alpha.
They didn’t look alike and didn’t look close, what could the relationship be? He decided to keep a good watch on her in case she was a threat to Aurora.
He got his drop of blood from Damien but the fear of having no where to go, made him promise to see Damien out of the witch’s world before he left for his journey. And that was how he became a guard for Aurora.
He had been unable to sleep, as he had been thinking of ways to ask Damien to take him to his pack. A lot of things had changed and he wasn’t sure he could survive there alone, without the knowledge of the outside world.
All his life, he had been stuck in the witch’s world, hoping earnestly to find a cure to his curse but it never came. When it finally came, he didn’t know what to do.
He was lost, hopeless, confused, and bothered about his next step. He had no ambition and could not particularly pursue any career, going to Damien’s pack was the only solution.
He could train to be a guard there and if things weren’t working out, then he was finally going to find his way out of Damien’s pack. Maybe, if he was able to find out what he was, he would be able to find his path.
He was sure he wasn’t human as he could teleport which was unusual. A werewolf could not teleport, they only had fast speed and reflexes so he wasn’t one. He couldn’t be a witch, he is unable to cast some spells and doesn’t have their features.
There were lots of creatures in this world, but none of them were capable of teleporting, that he knew of. He had been told of a story where a vampire had teleporting skills, but it was also said that the vampire didn’t live long.
Vampire? Could that be what he is? But he didn’t crave blood nor had fangs, how could he be one? He felt a throbbing headache as he tried to figure out what he was.
Thinking about his parents, he could not help suspecting they left him to rot in the dark witches’ world because they knew something. What parent would watch their child get cursed without feeling bothered about it?
He had no memory of what they looked like and he wasn’t sure looking for them was the solution. Shrugging, he decided to find out about who he was himself, abandoning the thought of finding his parents.
He had already reached Aurora’s room, standing outside the door to guard them. He leaned on the door, listening to the faint voice of Scarlet that sounded like she was apologizing.
He sighed in relief, knowing nothing bad was going on in there as Damien had told him. He said, Aurora might vent at Scarlet if she woke up so he could interrupt to avoid casualties.
Inside the room, Scarlet could not hold back the guilt in her heart. Everything happened because of her, she wasn’t good enough for her. Remembering how betrayed Aurora felt at the garden,it made her compare it to how she felt five years ago towards Enoch, after losing her daughter.
She felt bad for Aurora, wondering why she had such an unlucky fate. If only she had escaped the mansion that night, she wouldn’t be here suffering so much. But would she be happy there?
Scarlet found it hard to think, her mind was disoriented and she wished to run away from everything.
"Scarlet?" While she was lost in thought, a faint sound called her, the voice restrained yet carried shock. Turning her head towards Aurora, she rushed to the bed where Aurora was sitting, panic all over her face.
"You are awake!" She exclaimed, grabbing Aurora’s hand to confirm that she was not imagining it. She smiled when she felt the warmness emanating from Aurora’s body, and helped the latter sit up.
"How are you feeling?" Scarlet was so happy to see her best friend, awake that she didn’t care about anything at the moment.
"Oof," startled by the sudden hug, Scarlet yelped not expecting the action.
"I am sorry, don’t forgive me!" Aurora began and started crying, feeling bad for yelling at Scarlet at the garden. Scarlet only wanted to make her happy, but she was consumed by rage and didn’t want to accept the truth.
"I am sorry too, hate me forever," hugging her back, Scarlet also started tearing up, the both of them letting out their worries.
