Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night -
Chapter 130: Being too hard
Chapter 130: Being too hard
Realizing she was his mate, his love for her tripled and he wanted to claim her as his immediately. They got married quietly because Scarlet didn’t like big weddings or noise.
She got pregnant and Theresa begged her to stay in the mansion until their baby was two years old, because she wanted a grandchild. They planned on moving out once their child was two years old, but things never went as planned.
Scarlet lost her baby, because of Enoch and that was the root of their shattered relationship.
Back to the present>>>
Scarlet smiled, reminiscing about their chaotic start. They didn’t start well, but she cherished all of the memories she got from being with him.
"We were in love then," she noted, turning her body to face Enoch. He loosened his grip on her a little and made her face him, staring at her affectionately.
"To be honest, I have always had a crush on you but from a distance. That was why I allowed you to take my first time." Confessing, she blushed, shy from having to tell the truth.
From the first time she entered the mansion, she had always admired Enoch because of his hardworking nature. He was a perfect beta, the beta every maid was having a fantasy about. The Alpha was not limited himself, but they were graded.
Sincerely, she was exhausted after cleaning his room that night and couldn’t help venting when she saw the state of the room she cleaned vigorously. Whenever it came to cleaning his room, she did it twice as perfectly because it was him. Seeing him not valuing the effort of the person that cleaned the room, angered her too.
"I know, I do catch you stealing glances at me," he answered, aware of everything. Their love story was a weird one, but he was happy they turned out to be mates.
"I am sorry for saying I do not trust you, I was just terrified," she said, dropping her head on his chest regretfully. Her emotions always made decisions for her, and they did affect her in some situations.
Thankfully, Enoch was there for her most of the time and always protected her from danger. Thinking back at it, he might have been bad at being a husband but he made sure to protect her no matter what.
"I do not deserve your trust, I don’t blame you but myself." He stopped her from blaming herself and hugged her, patting her back gently.
Feeling comforted in his embrace, she nuzzled closer to his chest and hugged him back, closing her eyes to feel the warmth of her mate. It had been five years, five good years since they were this close and she craved a moment like this.
She still couldn’t forget how their first child died, but it was wrong to blame him forever. He was her mate and unless they rejected each other, they were stuck with each other.
If they had the time to acknowledge their mistakes, they might have been able to produce more kids. She never really thought of it, and just allowed her anger to cloud her thoughts.
"Scarlet, you need to get some sleep. I should get some information outside." He said.
Scarlet shopk her head, not wanting to let him go at the moment.
"But you..." Interrupting, she said, "I am sorry I was too hard on you, you can keep on searching tomorrow. We have both had a rough day, let’s get some sleep together." Her head raised, as she talked. All her life, she thought he was the bad one, she was just realizing she had her faults too.
If she was calm and wasn’t hard on him, she might have been able to change him into a better husband. Instead, she made herself believe he couldn’t change.
"Okay, if you say so." Unsure of what to say, he scratched his neck nervously and agreed to stay.
"I feel sleepy, let’s go." Grabbing his wrist, she dragged him with her to the bed and sank them into it. Holding him tightly, she wrapped her legs around him, leaning against his chest.
She had always yearned for this, and now was the time to embrace him and let go of the past.
Enoch smiled, finding it amusing that she was still the same Scarlet he knew, his bull. Unlike other women who loved being controlled, she took control when necessary, and that was why he couldn’t stop himself from falling in love with her.
Leaning in, he wrapped his hands around her waist and dropped his head on her hair, inhaling her scent that calmed the turmoil in his heart. He felt better from holding her and he was able to clear the conflict in his head.
She wasn’t the reason he couldn’t focus, she was the reason his mind was still sane after everything that’s happened.
"To earn your trust, I promise to tell you everything that happens around me." He whispered, stroking her hair gently.
"Mmm," in an asleep voice, she hummed a response and fell back into a deep sleep.
"I will protect you, and never let you go again." Saying that, he fell asleep too.
The following morning, Scarlet woke up alone on the bed, a letter sitting on where Enoch slept, before he left.
The letter read that he had gone to get information that would be useful for them, and necessities would be brought in for her. She sighed, hating herself for making him work so hard.
Judging from the coldness of where he slept, he must have left early. Sighing, she dropped the letter on the bed and walked into the bathroom to freshen up.
Coming out, she had no clothes to wear so she was stranded, her body wrapped with only a towel. Groaning in frustration, she walked towards the door, attempting to leave the room to call for help by yelling.
Just as she was about to pull the knob open, a knock startled her, making her jolt back in shock. Realizing it was just a harmless knock, she exhaled in relief and steadied herself, preparing to open the door for whoever it was.
Standing outside, was a young girl, her hands occupied with items of clothing that looked like they were for her. Waiting for her to talk, Scarlet folded her hands in front of her chest and raised a brow at the girl.
Unfortunately, the girl could not handle the amount of nudity she had been seeing since yesterday night. She got herself entangled in a deal, to save herself from being scolded by that cold man. But who knew if this woman in front of her would scold her or not?
It was not her fault that they weren’t on clothes, but it was rude to look and she was being rude.
"I..." She started, but remembered something and looked away, "I brought clothes for you," she said and handed over the clothes to Scarlet by stretching her hand sideways.
Receiving the clothes, Scarlet wanted to relieve her of her anxiety, but she shrugged and said, "Thanks."
"Breakfast would be ready in five minutes, would you love to eat here or downstairs?" still facing away, the young girl asked, her hands playing with the hem of her top impatiently. Scarlet could feel her fear and it bothered her, but how was she going to explain to the young girl that it was fine?
They were both women and it was fine to look, she didn’t have to look away.
"I would come downstairs," she answered, freeing her of the anxiety before shutting the door.
She found herself smiling at the girl’s behavior, her mind wandering off to the baby girl she lost. Would she have been as cute and naive as this young girl right now? She would be going to six years now if she had survived death.
Brushing off the thought, in order not to sour her mood, she dropped the towel and quickly put on her clothes, determined to also help ask around for Aurora.
If she was being honest, she was worried about Enoch and wanted to search for him instead, but it shouldn’t hinder her from asking about Aurora too. Once she was done, she left the room, locked it and went downstairs to eat.
Taking a turn that led downstairs, she bumped into something hard, causing her to fall backwards but was held up by a strong arm.
Once she balanced, she breathed out hard air, her mind recovering from the fall she almost made. Angered at the fact that the person who bumped into her almost ended her life, she raised her head, parting her mouth to yell, but halted when a dark familiar gaze met hers.
Damien!! Screaming in her head, she exclaimed, shocked and relieved to see him. What was happening? How was he here? No, why was he here, was the better question. All those questions spiraled in her mind but she was still shocked to utter them out.
Damien was just as shocked to see her, she could detect the surprise from his raised brow.
"How?"
