Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night -
Chapter 125: Half of a lifetime
Chapter 125: Half of a lifetime
"Unfortunate? What happened?" Damien asked.
"Their mistake cost the dark witches their children’s lives. Didn’t you notice there weren’t any kids on the street?" The boy answered, picking up stones.
Now that the boy was mentioning it, he truly didn’t see kids on the street. Normally, kids loved to play on the street and none were on the street where they came from
"Are you not exhausted from having to carry her all the way here?" Staring at Aurora, the boy asked.
"No, I am fine, let’s go." Eager to get things done with, he answered and started walking towards their door but was stopped by the boy.
"Stupid! You don’t just walk into a dark witch’s house." The boy scolded.
Damien felt offended by being called stupid, but the boy was right and he couldn’t help bubbling in his anger.
"I know you want to save her so badly, but you have to be wise to do that. When you are in a witch’s world, you act like one, or all your effort would be in vain." The boy lectured.
"Alright, lead the way," Damien said.
"No, you would lead the way." The boy corrected and Damien frowned. Wasn’t he just yapping about acting like a witch?
"Yapping? All I am saying is you would lead the way but without her, leave her to me." The boy explained.
"No," Damien disagreed, not willing to let go of Aurora. Rubbing his head, the boy sighed frustratedly, wondering how someone this dumb came into the witches’ world.
"Alpha, imagine walking in there and telling them to revive your wife or lover, what do you think their price would be? But if you walk in there with me, with Aurora in my hands, giving the excuse of saving our sister, what do you think they would ask for?" The boy reasoned, weighing the possibility of them having to exchange something much more valuable in return for what they wanted. Well, they were now together in it, so it was now, WE.
"I am ready to pay any price for it," Damien insisted, not willing to leave Aurora in his hands. While they argued, they didn’t take notice of the rising hair of Aurora in Damien’s hand.
"Oh, come on. They might ask for your life in exchange, don’t you get it? Dark witches are dark for a reason, they don’t fancy happy endings. You are reviving her because you want to live forever with her right? And that’s exactly what they feast on, one’s sorrow." The boy rattled on, shedding more light on his idea.
If a dark witch is capable of eating her infant for beauty, why would they care about a random person’s happiness?
Gazing at the door to the house, Damien wore a thoughtful expression. Anxiously, the boy awaited his response hoping it was positive. If the boy was being honest, he was only this concerned because he needed blood from Damien. If Damien dies here then it would become impossible to use his blood.
"Fine," Damien finally agreed, earning a relief sound from the boy.
"Bring her," receiving Aurora from his hand, Damien dropped Aurora and removed his coat to cover her.
"If not for my blood, someone would think you are being a good samaritan," saying that Damien smirked and started making his way toward the door.
The boy panicked, wondering how he was able to figure that out fast. Was he so obvious?
"Did you forget how to walk?" Lost in his thoughts, the boy remained rooted to his feet, eventually moving when Damien jolted him out of his thoughts. Shaking his head, he soon followed suit.
"I thought you did," Damien teased, and turned his back to start walking again.
Getting to the door, Damien knocked twice but received no response. Knocking the third time, the door creaked open, releasing an irritating smell from inside the room.
"You still wanna risk dealing with these rats?" Whispering, the boy said, expressing a face that said, I told you so.
Ignoring him, Damien opened the door and entered the room, his steps slow and calculated, ready to strike any impending danger.
"I told you it was a werewolf, I could smell him from afar." A voice spoke from behind the walls but no one was there.
"I think now is the time to materialize?" Suggesting, but more like an order, Damien said.
Soon, three witches appeared in front of Damien, their looks repulsing and their clothes dirty. Could dark witches ever try to be neat?
"Some are," the boy whispered, earning cold gazes from the witches, making him smile awkwardly back at them.
"Hi," waving his hand, he greeted and that was when the witches noticed the woman in his hands. Excited, the youngest among them moved closer to the boy, stretching her hands to touch Aurora but was stopped by Damien.
"Not even a strand," he warned.
"The boy is cute," the eldest among them complimented, and used her power to yank back her sister.
"How can we help you?’’ The eldest among the sisters asked, facing them.
"These are my siblings, Louis and Lucy. Unfortunately, Lucy died from a sickness and we have come to seek help from you." Damien relayed. The boy, now named Louis, found the name intriguing as he didn’t have one.
After being cursed, he was left to fend for himself by his parents, who gave him to a dark witch without naming him. He could vividly remember killing the dark witch that made his life hell every day, before he finally gained freedom.
But that was only temporary because he wasn’t free from the curse and needed to search for the curse breaker. He became a murderer at the age of 14 years and since then, he has been searching for an Alpha’s blood to set him free completely.
"Why would an Alpha werewolf have human siblings?" The witch asked, finding it suspicious that they were related. They didn’t look alike and their age difference seemed so far apart, could they be from different mothers? Even though, something wasn’t amiss about them.
"My mother fell in love with a werewolf, but could not marry him because his family didn’t want her. They sent her out of the pack but she was already pregnant with me. Going back to the human world, she married a human who always abused her before her death. I ran away with my siblings and was found by my werewolf father guards who came for me, where I was taken back to become the Alpha." Damien narrated, shocking Louis.
The man who was against his idea, was now perfectly narrating a fake story. He was going to admit though, Damien would make a fine actor.
"Awss, this is why love is for weaklings." Agonizing, the witch who seemed to be the second eldest said, wiping off fake tears.
"Alright, you want us to give you back her soul?" The eldest asked, going straight into business.
"Yes," Damien replied.
"Lay her down on that table," pointing her hands toward a spot, she ordered but there was no table there.
Frowning, Damien raised his brow at her questioningly, wondering what she was playing at.
"Oops sorry, now drop her." Pretending like she was sorry, she said.
Looking back at the spot, a table was now standing there. Louis walked up to the table with Aurora in his hands and dropped her on it.
The table moved by itself and horizontally stood in front of Damien, giving Damien a proper view of Aurora’s face since he left the mansion. Strangely, it felt like she wasn’t dead but just sleeping. Before he could properly fathom what was going on, the eldest witch clapped, distracting him.
"Let me give you this warning, Never make a deal with the devil." Referring to themselves as the devil, the witches warned, wanting to see if he would give up before they started anything.
"Not when you have so much in common with the devil," Damien replied, causing them to burst into laughter, finding him funny. Well, they always acted strong until you gave them the conditions that would discourage them.
"Alright, a deal for a deal. Make your wish," the eldest said.
"I want her life back," gazing at Aurora, he wished.
"Very well. In return, we want half of your lifetime," the witches offered, which didn’t seem to shock Louis. He was expecting more than that, it was better than he expected.
Damien would leave here alive and he would get his blood, it was a win-win. An Alpha lived very long compared to most werewolves and if he was lucky enough, he might die when he doesn’t feel like living anymore.
It’s just that things are now revolving, modernization is taking over, and lives are being short-lived. The Lycans went extinct after some time and werewolves weren’t living for as long as they should.
"Half of my lifetime?" Damien repeated.
"No bargain," the witch replied.
