Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night -
Chapter 123: Witches Coven
Chapter 123: Witches Coven
Entering the mansion, Charlotte was weeping so Dave hugged her and drew soothing lines on her back to calm her down.
"I am sorry, I couldn’t save her from Sarah," Charlotte apologized, tears dropping uncontrollably. If she hadn’t been so foolish, she would have been able to save Aurora. She couldn’t imagine what Damien was currently going through, coupled with the fact that she was his mate.
"Charlotte, it’s not your fault people decided to be cruel," Dave said, assuring her.
"No, I should have done something." Shaking her head, Charlotte refused to be comforted. If she had at least done something, Aurora wouldn’t be on the verge of death.
"Let’s hope for them to be fine, let’s hope. Stop blaming yourself, it affects me." He said, sighing, that made her stop crying. Thankfully, it worked and she wiped off her tears believing his words.
Truly her emotions affected him but it wasn’t so bad, and he was fine. But Charlotte had always been that sweet type, she cared for people more than herself. She was a selfless type of woman.
"Okay, I am sorry." She apologized, her face so tempting that he wanted to shower kisses on it. She looked even more cute when she apologized, and he loved her cute.
"Alright, let’s eat something before I eat you," he said, which made her blush.
"Stop it," she whined, beating his chest playfully. He was flirting when they were in a bad situation, she just couldn’t get enough of him.
"You look so enticing when you are red," leaning against her ear, he whispered and chuckled.
"Dave," she scolded, looking around for people and sighed in relief when no one was around them.
"Fine, I will stop for now," saying that, Dave busted into laughter and grabbed her hand, leading her away.
He led her to her room and left to take care of some things in the mansion. This was the time to be serious, for the sake of his brother, who was probably on the verge of going berserk, he was going to take care of the mansion.
First, he released his mother in her room who was crying when he came in. He knew she must have heard about Aurora’s death through one of the maids.
"Mother, I can’t give you full details, but Damien is going to set everything right." He assured her, wrapping her in a tight hug.
"She is going to die because of me," Theresa said, also blaming herself for Aurora’s death. Dave sighed, tired of hearing people blame themselves for Aurora’s death. That wouldn’t help revive Aurora, they needed to be strong for Damien.
"Mother, stop crying and blaming yourself. You need to be strong for Damien, we need to restore glory to the pack before his presence. So wipe off your tears and help me set this right." He scolded, sounding like a true Alpha.
Convinced by his words, Theresa nodded her head and cleaned her tears, ready to do anything to fix her mistakes.
"What do I do?" She asked.
"Now that is more like it," Dave was happy and pecked on her cheeks lovingly.
"We need to interview some workers and also complete the construction of the new pack house." He said.
"Construction? That might take a month or half of a month to complete," she expressed her concern.
"It would take them a month to be back or not up to, we have time for it. Now, you would help me handle the interview, I would deal with the construction and recruitment of new guards." He stated, confident in his analysis.
A week here is like a day in the witch’s coven, because of the kind of power surrounding their world. Well, there are white witches and dark witches, but the dark witches were more famous for dealing with souls. The white witches had to seclude themselves from the dark ones because they didn’t want to end up in hell like the dark ones.
"Oh alright." Theresa agreed.
Dave nodded his head, happy that everything was going well. He assumed Damien was going to take care of the criminals locked up in the dungeon when they were back. He feared them losing their lives from starvation before Damien’s arrival, so he was going to feed them to keep them alive for Damien.
Nothing was certain yet, but his brother won’t come back unless he found a solution, and he believed in his brother.
He was going to wait for his return, the return that would change everything in the mansion.
Scarlet was already awake, and she had beaten the crap out of Enoch after he explained everything to her. The car was silent, Scarlet was still angry and didn’t feel like talking.
Her growling stomach broke the silence, making Enoch burst into laughter. She was hungry but wouldn’t talk because she didn’t want to talk to him.
"What’s so funny? Never heard a growling stomach before?" Though embarrassed, she didn’t care as it was Enoch beside her. They had shared a lot of disgusting moments, and this wasn’t new to her. Except, it was a little bit awkward as they had been apart for five years.
"I am sorry, let’s get you something to eat." Enoch turned serious and apologized, not wanting to anger her.
She bursted into laughter, shocking Enoch.
"You are cute," she suddenly blurted, exclaiming when she realized she had said it loud. Oh no, he was going to think she was flirting with him which wasn’t the case.
Facing the other side, she covered her face in shame not wanting to see its reaction.
"Scarlet, when we are back. I am going to ask you out," he suddenly declared, which made her look at him.
"What?" She was shocked, not expecting such a proposal. He said he wasn’t going to appear in her life as a partner again, what was with the change of mind?
"I have already marked you and though the mark is already fading. We didn’t reject ourselves, you are still my mate. I will fix my mistakes and give you as many children as you want." He confessed, turning his head to look at her at one point.
"I don’t know what to say," she truthfully replied, lost for words.
"Just don’t turn me down when I ask you out. I don’t want to lose you again," he pleaded, his voice desperate.
"I am not sure we can be together again, it’s been five years since we drifted apart. Do you think love can grow again?" She said, trying to know if he still loved her. Honestly, she was very well in love with him, but she couldn’t just accept to date him if he asked her out, unless she was sure he still loved her.
"Scarlet, I have never for once stopped loving you. I love you and I want you back in my life. I don’t care if you don’t, I will wait for you to love me back." He confessed.
Scarlet’s face turned red and she quickly changed the topic, not wanting to say what she shouldn’t say.
"Let’s stop at a nearby restaurant,"clearing her throat, she said.
Enoch just chuckled and said okay.
Standing in front of the gate to the witches’ world, was none other than Damien with Aurora’s dead body in his hands.
A wooden banner was hanging on top of the gate that said, Way into the fairy world. Damien scoffed, finding the banner absurd.
His hair was disheveled, his eyes devoid of any emotions and his shirt rumpled from carrying Aurora.
"Who are you?" A voice asked, revealing a man holding a staff. He was wearing a robe that only covered the lower part of his body, revealing his abs.
Damien found the man lucky, happy that Aurora wasn’t awake to gaze upon him. A gaze that would have ended his life. He seemed to be the one guarding the gate to their world.
The man had a pale-looking-handsome face that made him look humane but Damien knew better than to fall for it. The witches weren’t beautiful, especially the dark witches. The white ones still had it fair but not all of them.
"I need a ride to the dark witches’ world," Ignoring the guard’s question, he requested.
"Do you have our coin?" The guard asked.
Bringing out one, he gave it to the guard and the guard swallowed it, shining his teeth in satisfaction. It was a pass in their world for a non-witch to enter.
"Follow me," the guard said and Damien followed suit.
Damien followed the guard into the gate and a river appeared upon the movement of the guard’s hand. The river was dark and fog blurred their vision, except for the moving waves that notified one of the river.
A small boat arrived. "That’s the boat that would take you. For your own sake, do not stare at anything inside the water. I am only saying this because of the beautiful woman in your hands," flashing Aurora a naughty look, he warned Damien about the river.
Damien felt disgusted and wanted to rip the man’s head apart but he had already disappeared. Ignoring the guard, he entered the boat and laid Aurora gently on it.
"Where to?" A voice from nowhere spoke.
"The dark witches," Damien answered and the boat started moving. Well, unlike their world, theirs was surrounded by magic and power so it wasn’t surprising to Damien.
While they rode on the boat, he would hear seductive voices coming from inside the water, and remembered the guards’ warning.
Why is that handsome werewolf here?
