Chapter 122: Take care of the mansion

Damien mindlinked Enoch, yelling as he ordered.

’Okay,’ Enoch didn’t bother arguing, knowing that something must have gone wrong, which wasn’t surprising.

Scarlet noticed his blank face and suspected something was wrong, so she asked. "What’s happening?"

"I need to get the pack doctor, stay here until I am back." He disclosed, and ran towards the door, removing the keys from behind the door, then he locked Scarlet in.

"Enoch!!" Scarlet yelled, but he had already left.

"I am going to kill you!" She threatened, anger all over her face. She shouldn’t have left Aurora alone with Damien, he was incapable of comforting her.

Walking about the room, she chewed on her nails, thinking of a way to escape this room. The window was no option as it was too far down.

Enoch ordered one of the guards by mind-linking him and the pack doctor got to the mansion in no time.

"What’s wrong with her?!" Damien yelled, unable to calm down as he watched the pack doctor treat Aurora. He had been working on her for the past thirty minutes and there was no progress. Aurora lay on the bed, looking lifeless.

"You need to calm down, and let him work under a perfect condition," Enoch persuaded, understanding that the pack doctor’s hands were trembling from fear.

"Can you calm down in this situation?" Damien asked him.

"I understand you Alpha, but I need you to stand outside the room for now. It’s for Aurora’s sake, please." Enoch pleaded.

Staring at her once more, Damien sighed and walked out of the room. Now standing outside the room, he punched through the wall, his wolf baring against his skin in anger.

’Why did you yell at her?’ His wolf asked.

’I couldn’t stand her wanting to leave me, could you?’ Damien replied, running his hands through his hair frustratingly.

’That’s not an excuse, she was still healing. She can’t bear to be in pain,’ his wolf chastised him.

’You think it is easy? I was fucking frustrated, do you get that?!’ Damien yelled at his wolf, and an internal conflict began between the both of them.

Claw marks appeared on his skin, indicating he was battling with his wolf.

’You don’t deserve her, I am going to take full control of your body and mark her. You will never get to claim your mate,’ his wolf threatened which only angered Damien.

’You are an animal, without me, you can’t mark her.’ Damien retorted and sat on the ground dejectedly. Everything had been going bad since he arrived, thanks to the foolish Elders and their supposed Luna.

He needed to unleash his anger on someone or he wouldn’t be able to calm down. But first, he would stay here until Aurora awakes.

Suddenly, he felt an agonizing pain in his chest, and was about to walk into the room when Enoch walked out of the room.

His face was down which made Damien frown. Enoch knelt on the floor and disclosed, "She is dead."

Damien’s heart stopped beating immediately, everywhere turned silent and he found himself walking into the room to check up on her. His mind was blank and the only thing he thought of was Aurora.

Walking up to the bed, he sank into it and carried Aurora in his hands, tapping on her face to wake her up, as he couldn’t believe she was dead.

Pain, worry, fear, regret, anguish, anger, washed over him as he stared at his mate.

"Aurora, stand up and shout at me," he said, nudging at her but was replied with silence.

Dropping his face on hers, he begged, "Please, don’t leave me like this. I would grant you your wish, just come back." Tears welled up in his eyes.

When she didn’t talk, his wolf whimpered, signifying sorrow.

"Nooo," he screamed, garnering attention from everyone in the mansion. His scream was enough to take down a tree and luckily, only some things in the room were scattered all over.

"I was wrong,"

"I am a bastard, a jerk."

"I do not deserve you," he kept on mumbling incoherent words, unaware of the number of people now in the room.

Scarlet managed to tear down the door room and was now running towards Aurora’s room. Upon getting there, a lot of people were gathered at the entrance making her worry.

Pushing her way through, she traced her gaze towards the bed and fell to the ground when she saw Aurora’s lifeless body in Damien’s hand.

Enoch went to stand beside her, holding her in place so she wouldn’t cause problem.

"Are you guys pranking me?" Facing Enoch, she asked.

"Scarlet, I need you to calm down." Enoch urged, holding her tightly in his hands.

"No, that’s not what I asked you. What is wrong with her?!" She asked, her voice getting loud.

"Scarlet," Enoch called.

"Nooo, what have you guys done to her?!! What did he do?!!" She started yelling, struggling to free herself from Enoch’s holding.

Enoch knew she would only worsen matters, so he knocked her out to avoid interrupting the grieving Damien.

Picking her up, he walked up to his room and laid her on the bed. He sat beside her and started stroking her hair, with different thoughts running through his mind.

Scarlet was his mate, the one he lost years ago because of his mistakes. Seeing Damien in that state made his heart ache, he hated himself for neglecting Scarlet for five years because she asked for it and he thought it was the best for her.

He was a fool for treating his mate like she meant nothing. He now knew a mate was everything one had, one’s complete self.

"I am not going to let you go any more," holding her hands, he whispered against them and kissed her palm. He was finding it hard to let her go but Damien needed him at the moment so he had to go.

Switching off the lights, he locked the door and left. His door was stronger than her room’s door, iit was of a high person’s room compared to hers in the omega’s quarters. She wouldn’t be able to break it down, so he was relieved.

Going back to the room, Damien was no longer in the room with Aurora. Oh no! He panicked, thinking of what Damien might be planning to do with her body.

’Where is the Alpha?!’ Mind Linking one of the guards, he asked.

’Alpha just went towards the pack’s border in his car,’ the guard relayed.

"Fuck," he cursed, thinking of what Damien must be thinking. There was only one reason why he would do that and he might have gone to the witch’s coven.

’Take care of the mansion, we will be back.’ He instructed the guard and walked back into his room. If they were going to seek the witch’s help, they might need some things for that. The witches weren’t easy to handle and they always asked for more than they could get.

After packing all that he needed, he went to sit beside Scarlet and kissed her forehead. He wasn’t sure how long they would stay in the witch’s kingdom, it was never an easy journey so he was saying his farewell now.

Looking at her one more time, he packed his things and walked up to the door, dropping his hand on the handle.

Hesitating, he looked at Scarlet, wondering if he should leave her in the mansion given the type of temper she had. Changing his mind, he went to carry her and left his room, deciding to take her along.

It was a bad idea but it was better than leaving her here.

As he made his way to the entrance of the mansion, he stumbled upon Charlotte and Dave, who seemed to be coming from somewhere.

"What the hell is happening here?" Dave asked, surprised to see Enoch carrying an unconscious Scarlet in his hands.

"Well, I need to run after your brother as he is heading towards the witches’ coven." Enoch disclosed, not bothering to hide the fact.

"What happened?" Dave turned serious.

Enoch halted and looked at them both, "Aurora is dead, he is probably planning to seek help from the witches, so I am going after him." He explained.

Charlotte widened her eyes at the information, tears welling up her eyes.

"I am coming with you," Dave said, making his way out of the mansion.

"I too," Charlotte said but Dave shook his head, refusing her request.

"Noo, that place is dangerous. You are going to wait for me here, okay?" Holding her hands, he said.

"I won’t wait for you here, I am not letting you go to a dangerous place alone." Charlotte refused.

Enoch almost rolled his eyes at their conversations, but managed to hold his irritation in. He couldn’t help but wonder if Scarlet would be so worried about him going to a dangerous place. His mate was a bull and he loved her like that.

"Okay, both of you listen. Someone has to take care of the mansion in our absence, to avoid another rebellion that would ruin the peace of the mansion. I will keep you updated about whatever happens. If we need your help, I will let you know." Enoch reasoned and walked out of the mansion, not waiting for their response.

"I think he is right, the mansion needs someone." Charlotte agreed with him.

Having no other choice, Dave walked out of the mansion and asked, "What of her?" referring to Scarlet.

"Trust me, you guys don’t want her here. She is going to give you a lot of trouble, it’s better if she stays with me." Enoch said and dropped her inside the car, safely wrapping the seat belt around her waist.

"Let Theresa out of her room, you would need her," Enoch instructed and went to sit on the other side of the car.

"Bring them back home," Dave said and Enoch replied, "Take care of the mansion." Before zooming off.
