Chapter 121: First real kiss

Thinking back at it, she was very happy then even if she had bothersome relatives. She was at peace with her parents. She was born differently from them, but they never hated her for having white hair or not having a wolf.

They loved her like any other good parents would love their daughter. She frowned when she remembered those times her mother would miscarry, making her weep for days that always weakened her.

They sought out answers from different people and even humans as to why she was miscarrying, but there was no answer given. She knew her mother wasn’t fine with it but they had to accept their fate and move on. Thankfully, her mother married a good husband who did not cheat on her or impregnate another woman.

They were one understanding couple, who rarely fought except for little misunderstandings. She had a perfect home and family, the world just decided to snatch it away from her.

She was going to get back at the world, but she needed to get healed first. Strangely, her skin was fine, but it felt like hell inside her.. She frowned, pondering what could be happening to her body. Was her body trying to heal or was it worsening?

"Aurora, the Alpha has instructed everyone to treat you as their Luna, which means you won’t have to do anything in the mansion except be a good wife to him. Are you fine with it?" Scarlet sat on a chair beside Aurora and revealed. The thought had been bugging her mind, but she wanted Aurora to be comfortable before she began revealing something to her.

"He did?" Aurora asked, her thoughts wandering back to what he told her last night. So this was what he meant by not hating him? That bastard won’t stop making decisions for her, she was never going to marry someone like him.

"Yes, I am sorry. I was the one who told him to make the announcement or I was going to run away with you," Scarlet disclosed, which caused Aurora to scream in shock.

"Why? I don’t want to marry him, I want to leave this pack as soon as I am done healing!!" She yelled, angry about the fact that Scarlet made such a big decision for her even after what that jerk did to her.

"You don’t? But I thought you loved him?" Scarlet was starting to panic. She knew Aurora was falling in love with Damien, and thought she would be happy to marry Damien.

"I don’t! He doesn’t love me, he sees me as a plaything. I am like this because of him, because he is too arrogant to acknowledge his mistakes!" Aurora said, yelling through her words.

"I know Aurora, but what if you are wrong? What if he doesn’t see you as a plaything?" Scarlet said, trying to change her point of view. It was weird that she was talking good about Damien, who would have imagined such a day?

"What? Scarlet, what has gotten into you? You were the one who warned me against me, why are you suddenly changing your words?" Shaking her head, she couldn’t believe her best friend was taking Damien’s side.

Scarlet was the one who warned her against Damien, but she never listened and started falling in love with that jerk. How come Scarlet was taking Damien’s sides right after she went through hell?

"No, listen to me Aurora. I was blinded by anger and couldn’t see beyond the bad side of him. But now, I know what is happening. Aurora let me explain everything," Scarlet started to hate herself for bad mouthing Damien.

He was never the bad guy in the story, he was the one who saved her. But it wasn’t entirely her fault, Damien never told her the truth and made her hate him.

"No, I won’t listen to you. You are conspiring with him, I hate you! Leave me alone!" Aurora yelled, covering her ears with her hands, her eyes full of tears.

"Aurora! Please give me a chance to talk," Scarlet said, moving closer to Aurora but was held down by a strong hand.

"Let him handle it," it was Enoch, gripping her wrist and dragging her away from the garden.

"What?" Scarlet didn’t understand what he meant until she saw Damien standing beside Aurora.

"But..." Cutting her off, he repeated.

"He would handle it, Scarlet, let’s go." Saying that he didn’t wait for her to reply and kept on dragging her away.

Aurora wept bitterly, finding it hard to fathom what was happening. Her only friend was teaming up with the man that made life unbearable for her. She wanted to run away from the pack and never come back. She wanted to stay away from everyone as they all seemed to be betraying her.

Everyone was fake, including Scarlet.

"Don’t hate your friend because of me, she is the only one that you can rely on." Calmly, Damien stated. He was sitting close to her, their faces almost meeting if she wasn’t bowing her head.

Looking up, her gaze turned cold when she met his.

"You don’t tell me what to do, get out of here!" She yelled back at him but was silenced by a kiss.

Seizing her lips, he drew her closer to him, one of his hands gripping her waist and the other holding her face in place. Struggling, she pushed him away, wanting to remove her lips from his but was only held more tightly. When she didn’t open her mouth, Damien gently pinched her by her waist, causing her to whimper, which gave him the chance to dive into her mouth.

Taking hold of her lips, he kissed her softly, waiting for her to catch on before he deepened the kiss.

Aurora was caught off guard as she hadn’t expected the kiss, but strangely, she felt a tingling feeling when he held her face in place. She knew that feeling well but he was too afraid to acknowledge, so she started struggling to pry herself away from him.

When he delved into her mouth, she found herself wanting more of it, and she didn’t know when she kissed him back. Damien smiled when she kissed him back and passionately sucked on her sumptuous lips.

Aurora loved the way he smelled, it was a mixture of fresh-wood and rainwater that calmed her mind. Holding his shirt, she allowed him to explore her lips more, dropping her head back to give him more access.

Right now, the mate bond was making her do what she didn’t want and she wasn’t ready to stop. That feeling of being complete was greater than her anger, she wanted to savor this moment, for she didn’t know how long it was going to last.

"Ahh," Damien bit her lips, abruptly pushing her away, that scared her.

Before he looked away, she caught hold of his fangs elongating, and knew what the matter was. Well, they were mates, which was still strange to her but the more she denied it, the more the bond got stronger.

Her face was red as she hadn’t expected him to kiss her, this was her first real kiss as she had only shared a peck kiss with Lucas.

She felt hot all over and could not stop replaying the kiss scene. Damien had never kissed her before, he always skipped to the foreplay part. Honestly, they shared no romantic feelings for a kiss to happen.

"I am sorry, I couldn’t help it!" He apologized, scolding himself for almost losing control.

Aurora just remained silent, not wanting to talk to avoid talking about them being mates. If she kept on acting oblivious, things wouldn’t be awkward for her.

"Is my one wish still standing?" Suddenly, she asked, taking him aback.

"Wish?" He repeated, wondering why she wanted a wish now. Could it be for revenge on Sarah and her mother? He already got that covered.

"Yes, the one you promised me before signing the contract." She explained.

"Okay," carefully, Damien answered.

"I want to leave this pack, safely." She requested, turning everything silent.

Different thoughts were going through Damien’s mind. Funnily, he felt sad rather than angry because his mate didn’t want him.

His mate wanted to leave the pack, just when he was about to correct his mistakes. He knew very well that if he said NO, she would be devastated which would affect his emotions. His mood swings these days were because of her, he felt most of her emotions.

That was what led him and Enoch to the garden, he felt suffocated and angry earlier, panic growing in him from the thought of Aurora being in danger. He traced her to this garden using her scent, and were both relieved and sad to know that she was only arguing with her best friend. Sad, because it was about him, happy, because she wasn’t in danger.

"I can’t grant that wish," he firmly stated, taking his stand to leave.

"You must grant me my wish, I don’t want to marry you, I hate you. Let me be or I would kill myself," she threatened, making him halt in his strides. His gaze turned cold and his fists were clenched, his wolf angered from hearing her wanting to kill herself.

"Don’t you ever make mention of wanting to kill yourself, you are stuck with me forever!" He yelled at her, which made her tremble.

Shaking, Aurora dropped her hands on her chest and went into a state of shock.

"Aurora!" Running to her side, Damien held her, tugging at her but she fainted.
