Chapter 110: Warlocks

"I wouldn’t do that even if you decide to snap my head in two," Andrew stood his ground, refusing to back down.

"Guards, take this man to one of the rooms in this dungeon. He needs to learn a lesson too," Elder Timotei ordered, and some guards entered the room. They rushed toward Andrew, ready to subdue him, and after a struggle, they finally managed to overpower him.

"Let me go, you fools who can’t think for yourselves!" Andrew snarled at them, frustrated that they couldn’t do what was right in the name of duty.

"Get this nuisance out of here," Elder Timotei repeated, and Andrew was dragged away.

"You will pay for this, I promise you," Andrew threatened Elder Timotei before being taken from the torture room.

"In your dreams," Elder Timotei dismissively waved off the threat and turned his attention back to Aurora, ready to continue torturing her.

Now that there was no one to defy him, he was determined to break her. Raising his whip, he offered the choice again, "The deal or torture?"

Slowly, Aurora lifted her head and smiled bitterly at him, replying, "I would rather die." She lowered her head in anticipation of the first strike, which came as expected. The first blow landed on her thighs, and the second struck her stomach, causing her to wince in pain. She felt her stomach convulsing from the impact of the whip.

Why did the whip suddenly seem to affect her body differently? It was the same whip Sarah had used on her before, but now it felt more painful. Her mind was in disarray as she tried to make sense of what was happening.

Wait! Though she couldn’t be certain, she had heard Andrew mention "bane." Was there poison on the whip or perhaps wolf’s bane?

Even though she was not a werewolf, she possessed some of the gifts and traits associated with them, like sensitive hearing and taste, which had contributed to her cooking skills.

She had grown up with werewolf parents and relatives, but they never disclosed the truth of her existence before their untimely deaths. She wasn’t merely human, and while she had kept her findings to herself, she suspected that there was more to her identity. She just hoped she wasn’t descended from the Warlocks who derive joy in black magic, as those beings were known to be malevolent.

"This whip is laced with wolfsbane, just enough to kill you, but I promise not to kill you. Unfortunately, we still need you," Elder Timotei said, although his actions contradict his words.

If an elderly man with children and grandchildren could treat a woman in this manner, what more could be expected from someone like Sarah?

"Does Theresa know about this?" Aurora suddenly remembered that Theresa hadn’t come to her rescue and asked, hoping for a reassuring response.

"Of course. She will be the one to pass judgment on you tomorrow, so don’t hold any hope of speaking the truth in front of her," Elder Timotei coldly warned, his gaze piercing her skin, sending shivers down her spine.

"Did she believe your words?" After a moment of silence, Aurora cautiously inquired, even though she anticipated the answer.

"I told you no one would believe the words of a plaything over a Luna’s," he answered, instilling fear in her.

For the first time, Aurora felt a sense of hopelessness, and she began to doubt her faith in Scarlet. What if she didn’t believe her either? What if her only friend sided with the malevolent ones?

What if the tables turned, and Scarlet convinced Damien to end her life? Her mind was filled with thoughts of her impending doom. Was she about to meet her end?

"Now let’s continue," Elder Timotei spoke, but Aurora was lost in her thoughts and didn’t realize what was happening until the whip struck her back, jolting her back to reality.

"Ahhhhhhh!" She screamed, biting her lip to stifle the pain. The agony was unbearable, and she wasn’t sure how much longer she could endure it. He said he didn’t want to kill her, but if the torture continued, she might not survive.

Her vision was becoming blurry, her organs were taking damage, her heart ached, and her skin felt like it was burning. All that remained was excruciating pain.

Should she agree to the deal and end it quickly? Either way, she was destined to fail. Death was closing in, and she could sense it. perhaps she should just embrace it.

The whipping continued until Aurora lost consciousness. Seeing that she was no longer moving, Elder Timotei flung the whip aside, overwhelmed with fear that he might have killed her.

*Fuck!* He chastised himself for letting anger take control of him. His intention was never to kill her, but in his rage, he couldn’t bring himself to stop the punishment.

Frantically, he searched for a bucket of water and doused her with it to check if she was still alive. Thankfully, Aurora coughed after a few moments, bringing relief to Elder Timotei’s worried heart.

"I hope to see you tomorrow, Miss Aurora. Enjoy your last day on Earth," he said, leaving the torture room.

Moments later, some guards entered the room, untying Aurora from the chair, and they hauled her to an enclosed cell, tossing her inside.

As Elder Timotei departed the dungeon, he felt a grim sense of accomplishment. He no longer cared about being discreet. Even if Theresa chose to show mercy to Aurora the next morning, it was doubtful that Aurora would survive the torments she had endured.

Retrieving the letter he had intended to give to her friend, he crumpled it and tossed it into a nearby bin before walking away.

While strolling through the mansion, Elder Timotei crossed paths with Theresa, who appeared less than pleased to see him. What was the reason for her reaction? Had she discovered their scheme?

"Elder Timotei, may I speak with you?" Theresa got straight to the point, for she did not consider him worthy of pleasantries.

"Good morning, Theresa," Elder Timotei greeted, subtly reminding her that she had skipped the customary greeting. However, she dismissed his comment with indifference.

"I have a witness who can vindicate Aurora of all charges. I don’t know what you and Sarah are plotting, but you’d better keep your hands off the Alpha’s woman." Theresa’s threat was delivered with such conviction that Elder Timotei couldn’t help but feel a twinge of fear.

If they indeed had a witness, their entire plan was at risk. No matter what, he had to get hold of that witness. Theresa had made a grave mistake by disclosing the information; he had spies within the mansion who could provide him with the necessary details.

Swiftly regaining his composure, he responded, "I have no knowledge of what you are talking about. I am merely punishing the offender. Is that against the rules simply because she’s the Alpha’s woman?" His retort vexed Theresa.

"Don’t play the fool for long. My son will return, and you will face his fury," she warned.

Approaching her, he inquired, "Your son abandoned her before departing. Why do you think he would care upon his return?" Theresa was left speechless, unsure of how to respond to his statement.

Elder Timotei was satisfied with her reaction and added, "Moreover, I am not certain she will survive until your son’s return." He then walked away, smirking in triumph.

Theresa nearly collapsed but managed to lean against the wall for support. She had expected to have the upper hand, so why had she been so thoroughly defeated by them, when they had no substantial evidence?

"And as for your witness, keep that person safe." Turning slightly, he hinted that their witness was not secure.

"Fucking bastard," she muttered as he departed, though his response was merely a chuckle as he disappeared.

Theresa rushed back to her room, hoping to find her handmaiden, but she was nowhere to be found. Gazing at her phone, she decided to call Damien to see if she could save Aurora.

Picking up her phone, she dialed Damien’s number multiple times, but no one answered. She continued to redial until two guards barged into her room without seeking permission.

"Hand over the phone, Tess," Elder Timotei commanded, using the nickname from their youth.

Wait, how did he know that she was about to call Damien? Did he have spies around her?

"Are you resorting to force now? I am still the mistress of this mansion and hold authority over the guards. Don’t threaten me with them," she shouted, concealing her phone behind her back.

"We are not trying to threaten you, we are trying to get rid of Aurora, and you are in the way," Elder Timotei replied.

"Guards, do what you have to do." With a simple order, the guards advanced on Theresa, forcibly taking her phone from her grasp.

"You goddamn traitors! You will pay for this humiliation!" Theresa yelled in despair.

"You will remain confined in your room until tomorrow morning. Get some rest, as tomorrow will be a long day."
