Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night
Chapter 105: Scarlet is looking for Aurora

Chapter 105: Scarlet is looking for Aurora

"Mr. Elyon, despite my reluctance to put my pack in harm’s way, my responsibility as an Elder is to rectify the situation, using whatever means necessary. I trust you to comprehend my decision." Elyon found himself utterly shocked, unprepared for such a response. How could an elder of the pack side with someone as erratic as her?

And what was going on with this disorganized pack? Shouldn’t an Alpha have a say in their laws? Why hadn’t he even seen the Alpha since he arrived? Unless... Could it be what he suspected?

"Are you both conspiring behind your Alpha’s back?" He inquired, leaving both Sarah and Elder Timotei stunned. The confident smirk on her face vanished, replaced with a look as though she’d been struck by a heavy blow.

"I will rip out your fangs if you persist in opposing me!" She threatened, shouting at him.

"So, I was correct, you are also violating pack law. Are you not concerned about the consequences?" He probed.

She smirked and declared, "I am the future Luna of this pack, second only to the Alpha. Think of how unstoppable I will be once I attain that position, huh?" She exuded such confidence in her incoming ascension to the Luna position that Elyon began to regret challenging her. If their plan succeeded, she might not spare his life for opposing her. He decided to play along and give her what she wanted. After all, he was nobody to anyone here, he could only rely on himself for survival.

’I am sorry but I have no choice.’ Inwardly, he apologized for the life of who he was about to ruin. He couldn’t believe he was here to ruin someone else’s life the same way his was. How could his life take such a wrong turn in a month, who had he offended to deserve this?

"Alright, I will drink it," he agreed, prompting Sarah to squirm with joy.

"That’s what I am talking about. You won’t regret making the right choice," she claimed, though he scoffed inwardly, considering it the worst choice.

The guard approached Elyon, urging him to open his mouth. He complied, and the guard poured a drop from the small bottle into his mouth.

A sharp, blue light surged through his body like a bolt of lightning, rendering him utterly helpless. Dark veins spread across his body, almost suffocating him. He could no longer feel his body, and his wolf threatened to break free. The potion was meant to awaken a dormant wolf, but for an active werewolf, it seemed more like a wild effect, pushing an active wolf into a frenzy, causing it to overreact.

"I thought you said it would take five days to take effect?" Elder Timotei stepped back, asking as he cautiously examined Elyon’s body, ready to flee if necessary. He had been informed that it would only take effect after five days, so why did Elyon look like he was about to go berserk right now?

"Yes, it’s just a reaction. This is to demonstrate that if he doesn’t comply with our wishes, the potion is genuine and will drive him into a frenzy. Well, death ends it all," she responded, directing her words at Elder Timotei but with a meaningful gaze fixed on Elyon. In his helpless state, Elyon wanted to speak, but the potion was doing something strange to his body, leaving him paralyzed. It seemed as though it was empowering his wolf but immobilizing his body. Could this be why they always had to kill those who were affected?

’If the wolf is fully in control and the body can’t resist, then the antidote is useless,’ he thought to himself.

"Now, are you prepared to be free?" Moving closer to him now that he was powerless, she inquired, raising his chin to meet his gaze.

His eyes spoke volumes, pain, betrayal, guilt, and anguish. Even in his helpless state, he couldn’t do anything and had been reduced from a strong beta to a useless wolf. Life could be so unfair, someone at the top could easily fall while someone in the lowest position could easily rise. He should have been more vigilant about his surroundings and the people he believed cared about him. It was astonishing how those who claimed to love you could be capable of ruining you.

His response came as a silent and drained whisper, "Yes."

Patting his head, she persuaded him, "All you have to do is admit to being her accomplice. Don’t be foolish, boy." With that, she left the cell with Elder Timotei.

"I will be your demise..." Elyon whispered his final words as they walked away, slipping into unconsciousness.

As they left the cell, the journey back to the mansion was shrouded in silence. Elder Timotei appeared conflicted about the entire plan, having just witnessed the disturbing events. Elyon’s warning about the potential danger to the entire species weighed heavily on his mind.

Rogue werewolves were typically known for causing chaos and upheaval wherever they roamed, but this particular rogue seemed different, piquing Elder Timotei’s curiosity about where Sarah had found him.

"Miss Sarah, may I inquire about where you captured this rogue?" Unable to contain his curiosity any longer, he finally posed the question.

"He had managed to infiltrate our pack and had been living here for over two weeks. I needed an accomplice, and fortunately, the guards apprehended him just when I needed a stroke of luck," she explained, reveling in the fortunate turn of events.

"Ahh, so he might not be a complete rogue, then. He could be a spy from another pack or a werewolf who escaped from his original pack," Elder Timotei pondered, his face etched with concern as he contemplated the gravity of the situation. He had assumed that they had caught him while he was scavenging, but it now appeared that the situation was more complex.

"Don’t worry, I questioned him, and he claims to be a rogue who has been on the run for a month," she reassured, briefly alleviating Elder Timotei’s concerns.

"I still feel the need to exercise caution. He may be concealing his true motives for reasons only known to him," he cautioned.

"Very well, Elder Timotei, I will be extra vigilant," she responded, although her confidence in her plan remained unwavering. She had to play along to maintain the charade.

"Good. I will be visiting Aurora tomorrow. Would you like to join me?" Elder Timotei inquired, remembering her request for paper and pen to contact her friend. It was merely a formality, but they had to maintain the appearance of not being opposed to her.

"No, I trust you to handle it," she waved off the idea. Her true desire was to see Aurora on the day of judgment when she would finally have no competition.

"I hope you can keep your emotions in check, Milady," he advised. Based on his observations of Sarah, she appeared to be impatient, and that could be detrimental to their plans.

"Absolutely, Elder Timotei," she assured him, though only Selena knew if that were true.

"Have a good night, Milady," he bid her farewell and promptly left the mansion.

Taking a deep breath, Sarah decided to retire for the day, content with the progress she had made.

The next morning arrived swiftly, with work already in progress as usual at the mansion. Theresa’s usual rounds were halted due to her sadness.

While contemplating a solution to save Aurora from impending danger, a forceful knock on her door interrupted her thoughts. She hurriedly got out of bed, approached her wardrobe, and selected a robe to wear.

Opening the door, her eyes widened at the sight of Scarlet. Panic surged through her, she knew Scarlet had come to inquire about Aurora. Scarlet was fiercely protective of her, and there was no guarantee that she wouldn’t reveal what was happening to Damien if she found out.

No matter what, Theresa resolved to put on a facade for Aurora. She didn’t want to hide the truth from Damien, but if Elder Timotei’s words were true, then Aurora might not be safe with him. Moreover, Aurora had mentioned the decision to nullify their contract after he left, suggesting he wanted to get rid of her. Now, Theresa was the only one who could save Aurora.

"Theresa, good morning. May I come in?" Scarlet greeted directly.

"Good morning. Of course," she replied, faking a smile and making way for Scarlet to enter. Scarlet closed the door behind her and moved further into the room.

"How can I assist you, dear?" Theresa inquired once they were seated on the couch.

"I haven’t seen Aurora for days, and I am getting worried. Initially, I thought she had gone on a trip with the Alpha, but then I found out from one of the maids that they had seen her the morning after the Alpha left," Scarlet explained, her voice filled with concern from her search for Aurora’s whereabouts.

"Really?" Theresa exclaimed, feigning ignorance of Aurora’s location.
