A Serpent's Tale
Chapter 322: Resurrection

Chapter 322: Resurrection

"You’re all wondering why you’re here, blah blah blah. Shut up you’ll see soon enough what I have in mind."

And before they could ask further questions, Yesh shut them up again.

"Yes, you all need to be here. As do they." The mighty creator made a come-hither motion and suddenly three souls suddenly were pulled over to his side.

The three souls were confused as to what was happening and why it was happening.

"Wh-What’s happening?" The green haired one said in a panic, looking at everyone surrounding her and her sisters.

The red haired one shivered as she looked up at the big red demonic looking being and held onto her eldest sister.

The blue haired Serpentine hugged her younger sisters together in an attempt to protect them from the individual who had the most presence out of everyone surrounding them, that being the glowing man that kept changing skin colour.

"Yesh, what exactly is going on here? What have you brought all these people here for?" Astraa complained as she demanded an answer.

The God simply stated, "Resurrection." As he began to manipulate some sort of cosmic energy that permeated the universe into his hands.

Asmodeus was the only one here who wasn’t shocked at the sight of this as he’d seen Yesh do this before.

Everyone else on the other hand, couldn’t make heads or tails of it. They’d never seen such power before. It was beyond anything that they could have imagined.

Before anyone could ask questions though, the three deceased souls started to illuminate brightly before getting turned into several specks of light, matching the colour of their hair.

The specks of blue, green and red hair then swirled into the power between Yesh’s hands as he started to raise above his head.

Astraa, Asmodeus and Katraa just watched on in awe and confusion as they tried to understand just what Yesh was doing. Yet no matter what they thought or imagined, they had no clue.

Katraa held Asmodeus’ arm as she trembled from the overwhelming force that was being emitted from the energy in Yesh’s hands, and Asmodeus held her back to comfort and support her under the weight that was forming from the energy.

Suddenly, Yesh brought one of his hands down and pointed his palm at two of the three of the remaining people that were nearby, as everyone else had run away at this point.

The moment the palm pointed at the couple, their faces fell limp and light started to pour out of their orifices, yet they still clung to one another tightly out of instinct.

Astraa on the other hand wanted to run, but knew that she couldn’t, as Yesh would just pull her back again.

A verdant glow started to emanate from the couples bodies completely now as Yesh began to take whisps of said light and weave them through some of his own power to create some sort of connection passage.

All of this immense power started to shift the stars themselves as they sparkled brightly in broad daylight in the mortal world.

This shift in the cosmic leylines made all look up into the night sky as they saw the spectacle unfolding.

Mortals who were not preoccupied by battle and such or were indoors or underground remained none the wiser.

But for those on the surface outside could clearly get a good look at this, and to them, it would be a sight to behold for the rest of their lives, as such a phenomenon rarely ever occurred over the ages.

For the Divine though, this signalled a shift in the balance, yet also not. For the Fates and the new, younger gods, this meant nearly everything was going to change.

Yet for the old gods, even those sealed within the old world, this meant nothing, as they could tell whose hands were at work here. They knew that ultimately nothing would change as of this divine intervention.

The old gods were scared though. Because He was becoming more active as of late, which put them all in check.

The Fates were fuming at his intervention, but with his power, there was nothing that they could do to stop him, so they stayed silent and watched, waiting to see what he was going to do.

And they would find out soon, as Yesh prepared to execute the last stage of his plan.

That last stage requiring the divine power of Astraa. And at this point, she had figured out what he was doing, as she looked down to the mortal world.

"You’re resurrecting them... Why though?" She looked over at Yesh in confusion.

The God took a deep breath and calmed down, lowering the power he was using so that he could talk more easily.

"Because I want to, and I feel sorry for her." His eyes looked tired despite not doing anything ever most of the time.

"Who? Traytora? But she’s never met these three. Why resurrect them." Astraa pressed further.

"A few reasons really. First, I just want to. I haven’t done anything in eons. Second, this ties in with the first one, people need to be reminded that I exist, specifically the other Deities. But mainly the Fates. They need a stern reminder to keep to themselves and stop running amok and making a mess in the world. And my intervention will do that."

"It will also hopefully bring some light to her life also, seeing as it’s covered in such a thick blanket of despair." Yesh’s words rang through Astraa’s heart, as she thought back to Asmodeus’ words when they first met.

"Is this really the right thing to do though?" She questioned, unsure of herself and even her position as a deity.

She only became a Goddess because her people and fellow Naga needed her to be one, and she was the only one with the potential and resources to do so. She had never been on a true journey to find herself or her purpose and role as a Goddess.

Asking Yesh might help her find out what it truly meant to be a Deity.

"Honestly? That’s entirely up to you. You have every right to choose what kind of God or Goddess you want to be. Right or wrong, righteous or evil. It all comes down to how you want people to see you. Your powers as both a mortal and a Deity certainly are important to your image, but they’re not everything."

"You have to find what works best for you, that and how you want to be viewed. That’s what’s required to make you the best Goddess you can be. At least, to you anyways."

Astraa mulled over Yesh’s words for a moment before taking a deep breath. She would work on that later, but for now, she would help Yesh.

"Is there anything I can do to help?" She asked.

"Yes actually, there is. I need you to help direct the souls into their original bodies, otherwise they would get stuck in Traytora’s. And that won’t be good."

Astraa nodded as she received her instructions, preparing to execute them when needed.

And she wouldn’t have to wait long as Yesh resumed empowering his weird energy orb that he’d made, pointing it at Asmodeus and Katraa.

"Get ready." He warned Astraa as the orb suddenly shot out and hovered above the two of them.

Astraa closed her eyes and focused on the three souls she sensed within the writhing mass of pure unfiltered energy and their origin points, which is their bodies.

Then, out of nowhere, a pillar of cosmic power descended from the stars above from the constellation that had been made that represented resurrection.

This pillar fell over both the orb and the couple before leaving the heavenly realm and shooting down towards Traytora.
