A Serpent's Tale -
Chapter 323: Revival
Chapter 323: Revival
A tremendous pillar of light shot down from the sky and pressed down onto a little serpentine.
The poor girl screamed out loud with a harrowing screech of agony that instantly spread throughout the graveyard.
Everyone attending and even those outside covered their ears and closed their eyes in an attempt to reduce the effect of the piercing scream entering their ears, their bodies instinctively curling up on the ground as the brightness of the light that had come crashing down on the poor girl.
This pillar of light stayed there as the energy poured into and through the girl’s body, creating a bubble that pushed everyone away as it grew.
The iridescent golden glow coming off of it then started to shift and change, with stripes of red, green and blue swirling and spiralling across its surface.
The horrid, shrill screeching that was coming from the serpentine shortly ceased, as the overwhelming pressure coming from this power left her body. But not before healing her completely of any harm she suffered.
As quickly as it appeared, it ended just as quickly, with the bubble of light shrinking down, but not around Traytora.
It instead split into three differently coloured bubble of energy, each one illuminating with gold and one of the three colours from before.
This shrinking continued until all of the bubble had disappeared into the coffins that they surrounded.
Once the blinding brightness had faded, and everyone soon recovered from that and the screeches. It took several minutes for them to actually recover and get back up from the floor.
Once they got up though, they were finally able to think and ask themselves, "What just happened?"

(Traytora POV)
’What just happened?’ I asked myself.
I felt like something had happened, something painful, yet I didn’t feel anything that would indicate such a thing, physically or mentally.
The only thing I could feel was a slight grogginess within my mind as I registered that I was currently lying on the floor.
Getting up, I could see that everyone was just as confused, yet they were all looking at me all the same for some reason.
This just made me even more confused.
Why was everyone staring at me? Why did I feel off, like I’d forgotten something? Or is this more a feeling of deja vu?
Whatever it was would have to wait however, as I heard some kind of thumping noise from behind me.
*Thump*
And the only thing behind me currently was the three coffins.
So I turned around to see what made the sound, but nobody was there, nor was anything out of place.
’What the hell was that just now? Clearly it wasn’t anyone here behind me, so what was that?’
It seemed that I wouldn’t have to wait for long as it happened again.
Three times.
Once for each coffin.
I jumped back in shock as I saw the coffins rattled, seemingly from the inside, as I couldn’t see any outside interference of any kind.
That was when the coffins started rattling and shaking, as if something was trying to get out. But the only things inside were the bodies of Vishyra, Zyshoraa and Rakzaa. Which meant one of two things.
The first was that they were now zombies, but given the circumstance, that didn’t seem all that likely. The second mostly likely, and only other thing that could explain all of this was that they had somehow been resurrected.
My suspicions were proven right as half of the lid on the middle coffin spontaneously blew off and a blue haired Naga sat up, clearly disoriented and confused.
I, and I think everyone else were too stunned to properly react, or even just react at all really.
That is until the banging from the other two coffins rang out again for just a moment, clearly much more desperate than before.
I saw someone rush past me and then break open the right most coffin open and sighing in relief as a red haired Naga came out and hugged them.
That got me to shake myself out of my stupor as I rushed to the head of the left most coffin, raised my hand and stabbed into it with my claws, then tore a chunk of the wood out.
I gave a sigh of relief upon seeing the person inside was alive thankfully.
They had air now, so we could take the tops of this coffin of normally now, since all three were initially nailed shut.
After a few minutes, the triplets were now free from their coffins. They were still confused as to what was happening, as they say that the only thing they remembered was working a late-night shift before blacking out.
When they asked about what happened, everyone avoided answering the question, even Garrick and Ba’arhim. Two people closely involved with both the incident or them.
They eventually made some kind of excuse to postpone answering, though I’m not sure why exactly they would want to do that in the first place. They have a right to know after all.
I was about to tell them when Ba’arhim put his hand on my shoulder and shook his head, telling me this. "Not yet. Let them get used to being alive again, revival can be strenuous on both the mind and body."
I argued that we should tell them, "But that’s for normal revivals, by like a priest or something right? This wasn’t a normal revival in any capacity."
*Sigh* "I understand your enthusiasm, I do. But still, at least wait a couple of days before telling them. Regardless of what kind of revival it was, it still takes a toll on them in many aspects, just let them rest for a few days, then you can tell them if you so wish."
Fuck that, I’m telling them whether they like it or not. I won’t tell them today as he does kind of make a valid point that they should at least get some rest and get used to being alive again.
But I feel that making them wait more than a day to tell them the truth is wrong somehow. Like they should be told sooner rather than later or else it might fuck them up mentally in some way.
I have no idea what way, but I could just feel that it would fuck up their psyche.
A few things before that though, the first of which was getting them to agree to meet me, then setting up a time and place to meet with them.
But before even that, I had to make sure nobody else here knew about what I was planning, lest they try to stop me.
So, I waited for few hours as everyone that had gathered, and even the Duchess herself alongside various other high ranking officials, came and assessed the situation, making sure that everyone was okay.
Fortunately for me, the triplets came over and thanked me in person for whatever it was that I did to help them come back from their ’coma’.
I of course played it off as nothing, because I didn’t actually do anything, I was more of a conduit if what I’m hearing from everyone else is true.
Thankfully I was able to ask them to meet up with me tomorrow before I was taken into custody by some officials for an interrogation.
