Chapter 287: Soul Changes

At some point I fainted from the constant excruciating pain, but I woke up soon after to feel absolutely no pain whatsoever.

In fact, I felt even better than before, as if my soul had been healed, and even made stronger somehow.

When I checked my Soul Scroll to see if anything had happened, I was shocked by what I saw.

’Huh?’

What the hell was with all of this? So much had changed.

From near the top to the very bottom, everything had changed to some degree compared to last time I looked.

I now had a "Profession" option, which was basically like the Class option, but it just meant that I could have another class.

I also saw that some things had been removed, but I couldn’t quite remember what they were, let alone conceive why they were removed.

Then there was a minor change to the Equipment section which showed me the items that I had which were bound to me. Not sure why I didn’t get it before but I won’t complain, it’s useful to keep track of certain things.

My stats hadn’t changed but due to my Soul having levelled up by ten whole levels out of nowhere, I now had four hundred and twenty points to spend and increase my strength.

And below that was one of the most surprising things.

My [Affinities].

The first thing that I noticed there was the fact that the last mysterious element that I had an affinity for was [Dark].

But after seeing that, I also noticed that the levels of my more prominent affinities had increased as well somehow.

I had reached a new level of affinities, which was called [Supreme]. But how exactly was that better than [Apex]?

And not only did my affinities get stronger, but my weaknesses became better? Like, my resistance to them had actually been increased.

Also, I think I’m missing a few as well if I’m not mistaken. I’m pretty sure I had more than this last time I checked.

Whatever, not important.

In regards to my skills, quite a few of them had levelled up. Starting in my [Physical] Skills, only one had changed. From [Dark Vision] to [True Sight]. Apparently, this made it so that my eyes could see through all lies, illusion and remain forever perfect.

Paired with my [Hyper Regeneration], that meant that my eyes would always remain in peak condition. Not to mention that I would never be blinded by sudden changes in the lighting in my surroundings, as my eyes would adjust near instantly.

After [Physical], came [Magic], and that was probably the place to receive the most change. [Hell Fire] increased quite a bit. My poison Skills went up a little in accordance with my affinity for [Poison] also. Otherwise, it wouldn’t make sense as to why that happened.

Then all of my [Space] magic also increased by a couple levels each, which on top of my new [Apex] affinity for it, meant that learning would be even easier, but it would be very hard to improve upon it also.

Not too much else happened below that though. Some Bloodline Skill improvements as well as Racial one’s.

The [Profession] section was obviously new, but my [Class] section remained the same.

In my Soul section I got something that would be extremely useful in the future. [Self-Repairing Soul]. That means that now, not only will my body be able to recover from most things, so will my soul too.

Though, this Skill does seem to have its limits, in that it does work slowly because it’s at a low level, and it depends on my mood also for how efficiently it does it. If I’m sad, it’s less efficient, whereas if I’m happy, it works fifty percent faster.

But the last thing that gave me the most confusion was [Blessing]. When I tried to check what it did, nothing happened. There was no information on it. It was just there. I couldn’t see anything about it in any way. It was just simply there now.

I knew that it meant that I had been blessed by a God or a Goddess of considerable standing since only they would bother blessing me like this when I clearly don’t pray to them.

If it was from the Goddess Astraa, which I don’t see why she would do that considering where I am, then she would’ve given it to me way before this.

Which means that some other God or Goddess that is of higher power gave it to me. But who? And why?

Maybe I can ask my father about it? He might know since he is technically a deity and can get information on this kind of thing. Maybe. I don’t actually know if he can get that kind of information.

Either way, now that I had gone through everything, and seeing as I couldn’t express my complaints to anyone at this moment, I just decided to gloss over most of this and go back to what I was doing before.

’Actually, what was I doing again?’ I looked around the room a little confused for a second before I remembered where I was and why I was here.

Then it dawned upon me. Since I now basically had two extra spaces available for both main and sub profession, I could have twice as many hobbies? I guess, since I assumed that that was why I chose Smithing in the first place.

But now I could do the same for Enchanting... I’m going to have a hard time trying to balance the both of these along with the rest of the things that I have to do, aren’t I?

Ugh... Too late to complain now then I guess. I’ll just figure out how this Enchanting profession works and go home.
