Chapter 218: The Rest of the Inheritance

The next words on the tablet were; "Now, hopefully you’ve integrated the power of my bloodline into yours and fully awakened my powers! Hooray! Now you’re like my sister! Even though you’re my descendant also."

That... Was just weird... the way that message was carried. Like she was a child who was excited about this. Either way, onto the next page.

"Anyways, now that you have received and absorbed my blood and fully awakened your bloodline, you can now claim the rest of my inheritance. The first of which is the necklace, pendant, whatever you wanna call it, and use to unlock the rest of this inheritance."

"To actually start, you’ll need to connect with it using your newly made blood. You don’t need to do anything crazy like what you did to truly obtain my power, you just need to make it resonate with you using your newly attuned blood."

’Huh... that certainly is easier.’ I took the pendant off and held it in my hand and looked at it. Was that really all I had to do? Again, I don’t know how to do this, so instead of trying such an endeavour in vain like last time, so I checked the next page of the tablet to see if it would tell me how.

And sure enough, it did. It was actually just a common method to help create a resonation and connection between an owner and an item, specifically for when said item did not originally belong to them and has been passed onto them.

Thing is, I’ve never heard of this method before. Then again, this is the Illuminati, they may or may not have hidden this technique over the millennia. But, that doesn’t matter now as all I need to do is make a tear on my thumb and will my regeneration to not heal it and...

’Holy shit... It’s not healing at all. I would’ve thought that with my new [Hyper Regeneration] that it would heal almost instantly but no, now that I’ve willed it to not do that, it’s just simply not doing that! Amazing!’

I coughed and focused back on the main objective, which was to create this resonance with the necklace and create the connection with it. So, I dripped some blood onto it and imbued both my Mana and my Will into both and formed the connection.

This might seem like a simple process that anyone could figure out, but there were several intricacies involved that are too complicated to really explain in a short amount of time.

I finished the connection and the necklace started to glow with a bright white light. It wasn’t blinding thankfully, but it was still bright so I shielded my eyes with my hand.

And as this light was being emitted, I could feel the necklace change shape within my hand and wrap itself around my finger, taking on the form of a ring.

The light subsided and I looked down at the new ring that appeared on my left hand.

It was made from pure gold and had intricate details. It had the form of a serpent that coiled around my finger multiple times and ended with the serpentine head on top. It was a rather simple shape, but the details in it were immaculate and so lifelike.

The scales looked the same as mine which isn’t too surprising and the head look incredibly realistic too. I could even feel the soul of the ring itself, indicating that it was indeed alive, and it could change forms at will.

Woah... So, not only did it increase its level, but also its grade... I didn’t know that it could do that! What else can it do?

What else am I going to get out of this inheritance? I suppose there’s only one way to find out. But first, I want to see what exactly the stats are on this ring now that it’s levelled up and evolved.

Oh my Goddess... That’s insane... I didn’t think that it would have such an impressive improvement... I feel kind of bad now because I never really worshiped the Goddess Astraa all that much... I should change that as a sign of gratitude to her for giving me all of this and more.

She is the patron Goddess and progenitor of my entire species after all.

All of that aside, it seems that there is still more to this Inheritance, so I should probably get back to receiving it now.

The tablet was still on the resonation method so I swiped to the left to change it to the next page.

"Now, you should have formed a connection to the Pendant with your blood, you will have full access to the treasury that I have prepared for you. I know that you might not find all of it useful as I don’t know what kind of powers you’ll have, but I hope that you find at least one thing useful in there."

"All of these items are ultimately yours now, so you can do whatever you want with them, but don’t squander them all for nothing. And don’t worry about money, I’ve left a small mountain of gold in there along with a Gold Pouch just in case you don’t have money."

"Anyways, the treasury is right in front of you. To the left is a series of interconnecting rooms, such an alchemy room, a forge, and enchanting room and more for whatever profession you may have chosen. And don’t worry if you have already chosen one, I’ve left something to allow you to take multiple classes in the entrance room."

"To your right is a magical gateway that connects to several places. The main one being the desert. There’s another tablet in there to explain more in detail. All the other rooms have their own tablet to explain everything as well."

"And lastly, to leave and enter this place, just find my portrait, which you can now find behind you, and in the halls of the Illuminati. To access this place, you can just use the Pendant."

"This inheritance is now yours to explore freely as you wish."
