Chapter 37: The One Hundredth Beginning III
Chapter 37: The One Hundredth Beginning III
NARRATOR’S POV
The day’s went on peacefully, nothing much happened. Dramon lived with Javir and his parents in their home.
He didn’t come out at all and even when he did, he wore an artifact given to him by Kabir’s father who said it would change his energy signature to that of a djinn.
"Honey what do you think?" Javir’s mom asked his dad as they were preparing to open up.
"What do I think about what?" He enquired.
"About the human child staying with us. He seems to have grown close to our son but what if he truly is a traitor?"
"He seems like a good kid, so I’m sure he’s not a traitor."
"Davene?" Javir’s mom muttered.
"What is it Rebekah?" Davene asked.
"I don’t know what it is, but there is something off about that child. I can’t place my finger on it but something’s up with him." Rebekah revealed.
She stared at him for a while. She had revealed her thoughts to him, what she had kept secluded for a long time but it always lingered.
Every single time she sees her son go out with Dramon she felt the need to say something but she always kept quiet, but today she finally said something.
Davene sighed and looked into her eyes. He gave her a look of reassurance. "He’s a good kid, he isn’t a traitor."
Rebekah didn’t answer, she carried on with sweeping the room as they were preparing to open up the inn for the day.
Meanwhile Javir, Tahmut and Dramon were at the field where Tahmut and Javir usually train.
"What do you think?" Dramon asked after setting half of the field ablaze.
"Your abilities are impressive." Tahmut commented. "Infact, I’d dare say you’re even better than him."
He pointed and Javir who seemed lost. Asher who was in Javir’s body was thinking about how the things that happened in this life are affecting what happened in his one millionth life.
"Javir? Are you okay?" Dramon tapped on his shoulder.
"Oh... yeah I’m alright." Javir laughed awkwardly.
"Is something wrong?" Tahmut asked with a straight face.
"No, nothing’s wrong. I’m just worried about what others would say if they saw that." Javir pointed at the part of the field that was up in flames.
"Yeah. I’ll put out the flames." Dramon said and then stretched his hand towards the burning grass.
A gust of wind blew and it looked as though the flames were being sucked back into his body.
"That’s impressive." Javir commended and Dramon smiled.
Tahmut walked forward and stood at the middle of the coal coloured land. He squatted and then put his index finger on the ground.
"Grow."
Nothing happened at first but then the land was filled with life again, obeying Tahmut’s command for it to grow. The burnt filled was brimming with more life than before and it looked stupendous as well.
"This, this is awesome!" Dramon exclaimed.
"It’s a mediocre technique I learned a long time ago." Tahmut shrugged.
"Mediocre? This is amazing!" Dramon stated once again.
Tahmut gave him a cold look, a look that showed distrust, a look that showed immense anger. The three of them were relatively the same age but Tahmut didn’t view Dramon as one of their peers.
"I’m leaving." Tahmut turned around and walked away.
"What’s wrong with him?" Dramon asked Javir.
Javir turned to face him and shrugged, implying he didn’t know.
"Will he ever accept me?" Dramon asked, he was facing the ground downcast.
His soul hurt by the consistency of Tahmut’s hate towards him. He realised that the only reason Tahmut was here with the both of them was because he wanted to get a grasp of his abilities.
"Let’s go home." Javir suggested and then the both of them walked home.
The moment they opened the door all eyes were on them but due to the artifact, none of the other djinns knew that Dramon was a human.
"We’re going upstairs mom!" Javir shouted so Rebekah could hear him.
"Ok!" She shouted back as she was swarmed by a hoard of customers who wanted to purchase food and drinks.
The day went by uneventfully once again. Everyone went into their rooms to sleep. Then the door to Dramon’s room opened and he stepped out, covering himself with a dark cloak to hide his face.
He ran at top speed towards the cave where Javir had rescued him previously and dug the ground near where he was found.
An ethereal light glower from beneath the sand and he kept on digging, uncovering a sort of cube.
Dramon poured his energy into it and then it lit up. "Hello?"
The cube flashed and blinked and a deep muscular voice could be heard from it.
"Have you gotten in?" The voice from the cube asked.
"Yes, I have. I have gained their trust and respect, although only one of them does not seem to trust me at all." Dramon replied.
"That doesn’t matter, they will all die anyway."
"Yes."
"Now prepare for our arrival, we shall be there at dawn." And then the cube turned off. Dramon buried it deep underground.
As he walked out he saw a shadow but thought nothing of it.
"I knew you were a traitor." Dramon froze in shock, he turned around and saw Tahmut sitting at the top of the cave.
"I-it’s not what you think. You don’t understand!" Dramon exclaimed and then his hands flared up and he charged at Tahmut.
"Kneel." Tahmut’s eyes glowed with an illusory blue light and he stared down on Dramon who was on his knees.
"Wh-what did you do to me?"
"I just made you kneel like the scumbag that you are." Tahmut shrugged. He walked in circles around Dramon and then asked. "Why did you think your plan at deceiving us would work?"
"It already did." Dramon smiled.
Tahmut felt something strange, he turned around and blocked a lightning bolt with his energy but in doing so lost focus on the technique he placed Dramon under which caused him to get up and flee.
Multiple humans stood in front of him with grins on their faces. "You see, I knew you were following me and made it seem like we were going to attack at dawn, but here we are."
Dramon laughed. "You." He pointed at one of them. "Remove my limiters."
One of the soldiers walked forward and touched Dramon at the centre of his chest.
A huge amount of energy erupted from him. The energy was so vast and so dense that it could be felt across the entire djinn territory.
"You’ve been acting high and mighty all this time and I let you, because I had limiters placed on me so you guys would believe my story and think of me as a weak human."
Tahmut frowned and then he disappeared. Their energies clashed and crumbled as they attacked each other with devastating strength.
Their punches caused the trees and hills around them to disintegrate. The other humans hid very far away from them as they did not want to be caught up in the backlash.
"How does it feel to fight someone far stronger than you?!" Dramon asked with a crazed look on his face. The entire landscape was in peril as they both fought.
"Don’t worry, after I kill you here I’ll go on to kill Javir and his entire family as well." Dramon laughed out loudly as he kept on attacking.
His punch landed on Tahmut’s face causing him to fly backwards and hit the ground with devastating impact.
"Have you had enough?!" Tahmut looked up and saw Dramon above him preparing to stomp on him and he dodged it by a hair’s breadth.
"Is that all you can do?" Dramon asked. "Run away?"
Tahmut frowned and then went on the offensive, but Dramon was skilled enough to effectively dodge and block each and every one of his attacks as if it were being thrown by an amateur.
"Is this all you can do?"
Tahmut screamed in rage and his energy erupted, distorting the space around them.
"Devastator!" Tahmut screamed like a mad man and a giant black hole appeared and it began to suck everything into oblivion.
The reality before him that he was weaker than a human made him pull out his strongest attack.
"Now this is more like it!" Dramon screamed.
He charged at the black hole and punched it dead in the centre. The black hole cracked and broke up, it’s force was immense and it snapped back like a giant runner band sending them all flying in different directions.
"Now this, this is fun!" Dramon shouted and moved like light towards Tahmut’s location. Tahmut reacted to his attack at blinding speed and they both continued to punch and kick each other with deadly precision.
"Yes! This is how men fight!" Tahmut shouted like a crazed man and kept on attacking with all of his strength.
The entire djinn territory was shaking and trembling and was in utter chaos.
"Stop!" They both turned to the sound of the voice and Javir stood before then.
