Chapter 90: Meeting Quispe

Chapter 90: Meeting Quispe

Arix saw many students that Drexel had saved came to her.

Luckily, the students seemed okay. They were not as scared as Arix had thought. Instead, they seemed like they were ready to face death.

"Arix, can we make it back home?" asked the most seriously injured student. He looked at Arix weakly and spoke in a hopeless voice.

The student’s hopeless eyes felt like a sharp, cold knife stabbing into Arix’s tender heart.

Arix pushed down his sadness. He patted the student’s head and said, "We will be out soon. The Fifth Legion has sent a mecha team to rescue us, so you must hold on, okay?"

"Okay, I will hold on, I will..." the student said. Then he closed his eyes and passed out.

Arix’s relaxed face turned serious after the student fainted. If the rescue didn’t come soon, this student wouldn’t make it. With severe internal bleeding and no medicine or special tools, even Arix couldn’t keep him alive much longer.

’What should we do now?’ Arix frowned, feeling unsure for the first time. ’What’s taken Drexel so long?’

Before she could check if Drexel had returned, Arix heard the students’ frightened screams.

"So many insectoids! Are we done for?" The students, though prepared to perish here, felt scared seeing so many huge insectoids.

This time, the insectoids didn’t attack immediately. Instead, they seemed organized. This didn’t make Arix feel better; it made her eyes widen in fear. This meant a stronger insectoid had appeared.

Organized insectoids were much harder to deal with than those they had met before.

"Look! Why is there a person on the insectoid’s head?" a student shouted, noticing something unusual.

The student’s voice made everyone curious. They all looked at the person.

’Is that really a person?’

A young man with blond hair and red eyes sat leisurely on the insectoid’s head. He looked incredibly handsome, with sharp features like a sculpture. His dark eyebrows and long, charming eyes were like a whirlpool, drawing everyone’s gaze inside. His high nose and perfectly shaped lips were now curved into a dazzling smile.

"I finally found my little lambs," the guy said with a strange, affectionate smile.

With his words, the air around became tense. Some knowledgeable students recognized the man immediately.

"Everyone, be careful! Don’t go near him, he’s an insectoid!" A student who recognized his identity shouted in terror.

"But he looks human," another student said, confused.

"He is the insectoid crown prince. Only insectoid royalty can turn into humans. This means his psychic power and physical power are at least Supergiant+," the warning student explained as her voice trembled more and more, filled with despair.

"We’re doomed. We’ll never make it to the rescue."

"The insectoid crown prince is here. Do we even have a chance to survive?"

"I haven’t even said goodbye to my family yet."

Listening to the students’ desperate words, Arix silently moved to the front. If they were going to die, she would protect these kids as long as possible.

Prince Quispe looked at the student who had identified him, propping his chin up with his hand and giving an encouraging smile. "I didn’t expect humans to be so smart. I even admire you a bit. As a reward, I grant you the honor of being food for my mount."

The student’s eyes filled with more fear, but remembering who she was now, she tried to stand calmly. She realized she was a military students, born to die with honor on the battlefield. Even if scared, she shouldn’t show weakness because she was the Alliance’s future soldier.

Their shaking legs wasn’t all fear; it was just a natural reaction.

"Boring. My people are hungry, so go to hell now," Quispe said, his voice devoid of any warmth. Then he waved his hand at the students. The insectoids, as if receiving a command, swarmed towards them.

Seeing this, Arix quickly raised a psychic barrier, protecting all the students underneath it.

"Look, it’s Arix! She’s the first to stand up when there’s danger. It’s so inspiring."

"Yeah, she treated all the injured ones just now, and now she is fighting to protect us. Let’s not give up! Come on!"

"Yes! Even if we die, we should take an insectoid down with us!"

Quispe watched the resisting students for a moment with interest. Then, he turned his gaze to the source of it all—a young woman, with sheer psychic power, held up a strong psychic barrier, resisting the entire insectoid attack.

The young woman was about the same age as him. Her skin was as smooth as silk, and her eyes were pure and endless, like the color of the clearest sky. Her cheekbones were so cute, and her black hair had natural waves and curves that made Quispe imagine the feel of it under his fingers.

Quispe’s eyes lit up as if he had found a toy he liked, his smile charming but twisted. He jumped down from his mount and walked elegantly toward Arix.

His blood-red eyes, slightly aggressive, stared at her for a moment. And then, his smile grew more satisfied, yet more dangerous too.

"You are powerful, and I respect strength. So I will make you my mate. This is my gift to a worthy opponent," Quispe said, looking at Arix like a noble god, both caring and disdainful.

Arix thought to herself, ’Who let this lunatic out? Someone please take him back immediately!’

"Woman, your look displeases me. You’ll be punished," Quispe said. Then, with a snap of his fingers, he shattered Arix’s mental barrier.

’What the heck?’ Arix’s pupils tightened. She looked at her hands in disbelief.

Her Supergiant+ psychic power had never been so thoroughly crushed before.

’So, just how terrifying is the power of this young man in front of me?’

"Your look finally pleases me," Quispe said with a contemptuous smile. He continued, "Although your psychic power is impressive, your physical power holds it back. If you agree to be my mate, I’ll help you raise your physical power to Supergiant. How about that?"

"Sorry, not interested. I don’t like bugs," Arix said, looking at Quispe with disgust.

Even though he was good-looking, it didn’t change the fact that he was a bug under a human shell.

Arix’s words and look completely angered Quispe. His red eyes narrowed, and he said coldly, "If you don’t want to be my mate willingly, then I’ll have to erase your memory and make you a puppet."

Arix felt completely at loss. She wanted to question God in face, asking why He sent such an overdramatic young man, trying to kill her with cringe.

Arix rubbed the goosebumps on her arms and glanced at her friends.

She saw them defending and attacking, not panicking even though the psychic barrier had disappeared.

The weight in Arix’s heart finally lifted. She breathed a sigh of relief and stared hard at Quispe. Then she clenched her fists, ready to move.

Quispe looked at the young woman’s angry eyes. This time, instead of getting angry, he became more interested in her.

Sure enough, having her lively like this was more to his liking than making her a puppet.

Arix didn’t waste any more words. She grabbed a dagger and rushed at Quispe. She attacked him several times but never touched him.

Supergiant physical power wasn’t just a number; his speed, strength, and endurance were far beyond Arix’s.
