Chapter 89: Protecting An Egg

The next moment, Marlone’s anxious face appeared on the 3D virtual screen.

"Drexel! Arix! How are you? Are you safe?" Marlone was surprised and worried to see his nephew calling.

"We’re fine for now," Arix’s image also appeared on the screen.

"We’re safe, but what’s going on? We seem to be trapped," Drexel asked, looking confused.

"The insectoids have surrounded the Celesterror territory. The Fifth Legion’s mecha team is on their way. Drexel, you must protect your sister and wait for rescue," Marlone instructed urgently.

"Okay. Also, please grant me access to the bracelet locations. I need to gather the students and protect them," Drexel said, revealing his other purpose.

"Alright, keep in touch," Marlone said before hanging up and sharing his instructor permissions with Drexel’s opticomputer.

As soon as Drexel received the permissions, he opened the digital bracelet location map. His face turned even grimmer.

He found out that the heirs of the five major families were all in Celesterror territory. The only good news was that there weren’t many other students.

"Arix, Dae-jung, Femi, Calista, I’ll go bring them here. You wait for me," Drexel said, considering everyone’s physical strength.

"Okay, be careful," Arix said, knowing her physical limitations, so she didn’t object.

Calista and the others understood and nodded in agreement.

After giving his instructions, Drexel disappeared without another word.

"Arix, will we be okay?" Calista asked fearfully, holding onto Arix’s arm.

"Don’t worry, I’ll protect you," Arix reassured her, holding her arm.

Calista’s eyes sparkled, her cheeks flushed, and she responded with a soft "Mm-hmm."

"Arix, don’t forget about me! Please protect me too!" Femi said tearfully.

Arix smiled and nodded, "You’re my teammates, so of course I’ll protect you."

Dae-jung, confident in his abilities, didn’t panic like the others. He kept a cool face and watched the surroundings warily.

But Arix suddenly realized she had forgotten someone. She quickly turned to Dae-jung and said, "Dae-jung, if you need it, I’ll protect you too."

Then she turned back, still worriedly watching the spot where Drexel had left.

Dae-jung hadn’t understood at first, but when he did, he felt a warmth in his heart.

The feeling of being protected by a companion seemed quite nice.

On the other side, after Drexel left, the first person he encountered was Elio, who was being chased by a wild beast.

Elio looked miserable. His clothes were torn by branches, and he had many cuts on his face and body.

The worst part was that he had to run for his life. The beast chasing him was only half a meter away. If he slowed down even a little, he would be caught and killed.

So, when Elio saw Drexel, he shouted excitedly, "Oh my god! Drexel! Help me!"

Drexel laughed at Elio’s pitiful appearance. Then he looked at the beast. He used his psychic power to create a long spear.

Drexel pushed off with his toes and leaped towards the beast, which was about to bite Elio.

At the critical moment, Drexel used the spear to knock the beast away. Then he jumped up, held the spear with both hands, and came down like a meteor, piercing the beast’s skull.

Elio, who was sitting on the ground and panting heavily, raised his hand to give a thumbs up and said, "Awesome, Drexel! That was cool!"

Drexel pulled the spear out of the beast and walked to Elio, helping him up. "Why are you in Celesterror’s territory? Don’t tell me you were chased in by this bear."

"This is Celesterror territory?? I didn’t mean to come here. This damn bear chased me, and I don’t even know where I am." Elio kicked the bear’s corpse, feeling a bit relieved.

’This unlucky guy, he always seemed to end up in trouble. Did he use up all his luck at birth?’ Drexel sighed silently.

Then he said, "I still have things to do. I can’t explain much. In short, we are surrounded by insectoids and can’t leave the Celesterror territory. Go straight this way for 1 kilometer; Arix is there. Wait for me there. I need to find Cirilla, Varden, and others. I’m leaving now."

After speaking, Drexel turned and left.

"Hey, wait! What do you mean we are surrounded by insectoids? Don’t joke about something so scary, okay?" Elio was almost going crazy. He didn’t want to believe it was true.

He had just escaped from a beast, and now there were insectoids. ’What was going on?’ Elio watched Drexel walk away, speechless.

In the end, he had to accept it and quickly ran in the direction Drexel had mentioned.

Meanwhile, Arix and the others were not having an easy time either. After Drexel left, they encountered several waves of insectoids. Just after dealing with one wave, they heard more noises coming from the bushes.

Arix and Dae-jung exchanged a glance. Then they all looked cautiously at the bushes.

"Don’t be scared, it’s me!" Elio said as he emerged from the bushes and saw them on high alert.

"Elio? Did you see Drexel?" Arix asked worriedly.

"He went to find Varden and the others. He told me to come find you. Don’t worry, Drexel is strong; he’ll be fine," Elio reassured.

"Thanks," Arix said, though his eyes still looked worriedly in the direction Drexel had gone.

At that moment, Drexel found the last three people he was looking for.

"Cirilla, Zephyr, Varden, are you okay?" Drexel asked, shocked at their miserable appearance.

Varden and the others were covered in blood, looking like soldiers who had fought for days and nights, and barely won.

"Don’t look at us like you’re ready to bury us. This blood isn’t ours. And why are you here?" Cirilla asked, holding a bright red egg.

"I came to find you. Let’s talk while we walk back; Arix is waiting for us," Drexel said, leading the way.

Without hesitation, Cirilla and the others followed Drexel back. On the way, Drexel briefly explained their situation.

Seeing Cirilla carefully holding the egg, Drexel raised an eyebrow and joked, "Cirilla, why are you carrying an egg? Are we having it for lunch?"

As expected, Cirilla rolled her eyes at Drexel. "This egg is the next Celesterror Lord. You can try eating it and see what happens."

"You mean this egg is the Celesterror King? How can it be so simple? An egg can become a Celesterror King?" Drexel’s eyes widened in shock.

He knew the egg Cirilla was holding was special but didn’t expect it to be a Celesterror Lord’s egg!

"The Celesterror Lord’s mate entrusted it to us. Do you think it’s a joke?" Cirilla said disdainfully.

"The Celesterror Lord’s mate entrusted it to you? What about the current Celesterror Lord? What happened to him and his family?" Drexel asked, frowning in confusion.

"Sigh, it’s probably because of this egg. I heard it has a problem with its innate psychic power, so the Celesterror Lord went out with some Celesterrors to find medicine, giving the insectoids a chance to attack," Cirilla said, feeling sad as she held the egg more tightly.

"Sigh," Drexel said, feeling much more down after hearing this. He stopped talking and focused on hurrying towards Arix’s location.

He knew his sister was also in danger. Thinking about this made Drexel’s heart race even faster, and his eyes turned red with worry.

’Arix! Wait for me!’ he thought, pushing himself to move even quicker.
