Chapter 30: A Hipster

The Kering family hadn’t told the public about Arix’s identity before, because they feared it would put her in danger. The Kering family’s daughter, the only Supergiant+ in the Alliance—these two identities would make all the powers of the galaxy want to get her.

So, in the eyes of most people in the Alliance, Arix was still that girl from Planet Waste, Arix Thalis.

At the family banquet of the Kering family, only the top families of the Alliance were present. They might know Arix’s true identity, but in terms of her true power, the Kering family only claimed she was a Supergiant.

The five noble families knew Arix’s real strength, but they understood the Kering family’s concerns. Therefore, they also kept silent in agreement.

So, Arix never expected that one day she would become famous because of a scandal with her own brother.

Arix was both annoyed and amused. She scrolled down the virtual screen for a while, seeing almost all the photos of her and Drexel playfully fighting in the shop.

Each photo captured a special closeness. Those images, coupled with suggestive texts, almost made her believe them if she weren’t the person involved.

"Orphan girl from Planet Waste and the grandson of Admiral Kering"—this sensational story had topped the hot search of the entire interstellarnet within just half an hour.

"You have a message from Cassian."

Arix hadn’t even opened the message, but she knew Cassian must be laughing at her on the other end.

"How about that, Arix, surprised?"

Arix quickly replied, feeling itchy with irritation, "Noooooo!"

"Haha, aren’t you starting military training tomorrow? Remember to contact me over the weekend."

"Then you should work harder to win my calls. Got to go, Drexel is here."

Not far away, Drexel was approaching fast, sparks flying. When he saw Arix close her opticomputer, he curiously asked, "Arix, who were you chatting with?"

"Cirilla asking me what to buy for military training; I just replied to her," Arix fibbed.

She didn’t want Drexel to know she was chatting with Cassian. These two were like cat and mouse in a past life, naturally at odds.

"Oh, then go wait for me in the car, I’ll come after I pay."

Drexel just asked casually. He didn’t suspect anything and after giving his instructions, he went to queue up at the checkout.

Arix breathed a sigh of relief and went back to wait in the car.

Before long, Drexel, carrying several bags, put them in the trunk. He seemed quite pleased with himself. As he sat in the driver’s seat, he said, "Arix, do you think I looked cooler today? A lot of people in the supermarket were secretly watching me."

After saying that, Drexel even flirtatiously flicked his hair in the car mirror.

Speechless, Arix didn’t know what to say and finally covered her face and said, "Dude, maybe you should check the Interstellarnet Headlines."

Drexel looked at Arix, surprised. Then he suddenly turned excited and exclaimed, "Even the headlines are discussing how cool I am? I need to check this out."

Arix hesitated to speak. The story had already blown up; Drexel would find out sooner or later.

So, she decided not to respond, just silently shut her mouth.

Drexel, his eyes wide with anticipation, turned on his opticomputer. However, as soon as he opened the news, his smile froze. His eyebrows furrowed deeply, and his face grew darker by the second.

Arix, watching Drexel’s reaction, nervously swallowed. She cautiously said, "Drexel... maybe we shouldn’t look. It’s all baseless rumors, it’s upsetting. Right?"

"No, part of them are true," Drexel said seriously.

Arix, visibly shocked, stuttered, "So you think... No... this isn’t right, we are siblings, it’s not supposed to be like this!"

"Arix, face the reality. They’re right, and it is true that I’m way out of your league. I’m just too cool to be with you," Drexel smirked arrogantly and even proudly tilted his chin up.

Arix’s fists clenched. She looked at Drexel with a dangerous glint in her eyes and said, "Is that all you took from reading this long?"

"What else is there? Isn’t it all about how you’re not good enough for me? I think it makes sense," Drexel dangerously continued.

Arix, unable to hold back her irritation, scoffed coldly, "Since you’re so great, it’s a shame to have you work for me in my store. I might as well talk to Kellan about it."

Only then did Drexel let out a wail, hastily admitting his mistake, "Arix! I was just joking. I’m sorry, okay?"

Arix then grunted in satisfaction.

Drexel didn’t dare say more. He sat like a wronged baby girl.

Soon after, they boarded the Lev and returned to the Kering family.

Once back at the Kering family, Drexel, as if on fire, dragged Arix onto the interstellarnet.

"Welcome to the Interstellarnet."

As their psychic powers connected to the interstellarnet, a familiar, gentle female voice rang in their ears.

Arix and Drexel appeared together on the bustling streets of the interstellarnet for the first time. Seeing each other’s avatars, both made faces of disgust.

Drexel merely disliked Arix’s unisex attires, and he thought she was not girly enough. Arix felt that Drexel’s outfit was an assault on her eyes.

"Drexel, what on earth are you wearing?" If Arix didn’t know they were in the interstellar, she might have thought it was a hippie revival.

Drexel was in an explosive hairstyle, colorful attire, and smoky makeup that looked half-dead. He wore a rainbow undershirt with a blue Mack shirt. Worst of all, his pants were bright pink.

"Ouch, my eyes, my eyes!" Arix cried out in mock agony.

Drexel strutted around like a proud rooster, constantly flaunting what he believed to be the most unique parts of his outfit in front of Arix. "Hmph, you country bumpkin. This style was once the trendiest thing in the ancient times."

"If it is that trendy, why haven’t I seen you wear this offline?" Arix asked curiously, covering her eyes.

Drexel’s smile stiffened. He was too embarrassed to reveal the truth, so he quickly changed the subject. "Let’s take care of the shop first. We need to get up early tomorrow for trainings. Let’s finish this and then rest early."

"Alright then," Arix replied as she opened the shop’s control panel. She clicked on the shop option in her personal information, took Drexel to the shop, and gave him the highest administration authority. With that, she handed over the entire potion shop to Drexel to manage.

Then, she logged off to video call Cassian.

After all, tonight was their last chance for a while, as all electronic devices for military freshmen would be surrendered for a month. They’d only get them back on weekends. It would be much harder to stay in touch after tonight.
