Chapter 106: Fighting Back

The fierce tiger in the confinement room had vanished. Maybe it was Arix’s psychic power that suppressed it, giving Scion a moment of clarity to return to his human form.

The officers of the Empire, seeing their admiral back to normal, were thrilled. They hurried over, showering him with concern and care.

"Admiral Scion, are you alright? How are you feeling?" Captain Chris asked, his voice a mix of excitement and worry.

"I’m fine. What’s going on outside?" Scion wasn’t worried about himself. He was more concerned about the battle outside.

"Vice Admiral Klaus is in the control room, directing the mecha squads and fleets. Luckily, things are under control for now, so there’s no immediate danger," Captain Chris explained with respect.

"Good to know," Scion replied calmly.

"Admiral Scion, why did your psychic power go out of control so suddenly? There were no signs, and we still have no clues," Vice Admiral De’an asked, his voice tight with concern.

"No need to investigate. I know who did it, and I’ll handle them personally when we return," Scion said, his eyes cold and his tone menacing.

"Understood," Vice Admiral De’an hesitated, wanting to avenge the admiral himself, but seeing Scion’s resolve, he reluctantly agreed.

"Arix, since Admiral Scion is awake, you can withdraw your psychic power now," Vice Admiral De’an said, patting Arix on the head.

"Okay!" Arix moved her tiny paws, and pulled it back into her psychic world.

Scion, finally free, looked at the little cub in surprise. ’If I guessed right, this seem like Supergiant+ level psychic power.’

He couldn’t help but wonder if the Alliance was overconfident in the Empire, not fearing they might exploit this situation.

"Admiral, here’s the potion to treat your psychic power outbreak. Please drink it now so we can all relax," Captain Chris remembered the task at hand, quickly handing the psychic power treatment potion to Scion, his tone full of concern.

"Who made this potion?" Scion took the potion, surprised. There shouldn’t be any psychic power treatment potions in the legion at this time.

"Little Arix personally made it for you," Captain Chris emphasized the word "personally," highlighting Arix’s effort.

Scion’s surprise deepened. Raising an eyebrow, he looked at Arix and smiled, "Thank you, Arix."

As Scion expressed his gratitude, a rare smile appeared, making him look as elegant and beautiful as a snowdrop on a mountaintop.

"You’re welcome, you’re welcome," Arix blushed, hiding in Vice Admiral De’an’s arms, shyly waving his paw.

After thanking Arix with a smile, Scion finally looked down at the psychic power treatment potion in his hand.

Scion first opened the potion’s seal and took a sniff. The strong, pungent smell made him catch his breath.

After a brief hesitation, he decided to drink it all in one go.

At first, Scion only frowned, finding the taste peculiar. But within seconds, his face turned an alarming shade of green. The bitter and astringent flavor hit him like a wave, making his mind feel muddled, almost like experiencing electroshock therapy.

Scion covered his face with his hands, struggling to suppress a groan. It took him a good while to recover and lower his hands. If he hadn’t felt the potion working in his psychic world, he would have thought he’d ingested a biochemical weapon instead of a treatment potion.

"Admiral, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Captain Chris asked, noticing the change in Scion’s expression.

Scion shook his head and sighed. "I’m fine. I just realized that there are things in this world more terrifying than death."

"Huh? What could be more terrifying than death?" Captain Chris was stunned. Did the admiral mean the insectoids? But they didn’t seem scarier than death.

Scion didn’t answer Chris’s question directly. Instead, he said something cryptic that left Captain Chris puzzled for a long time. "You’ll understand once you drink Arix’s potion," Scion remarked calmly, though his eyes showed a trace of lingering fear.

Captain Chris was so confused.

’Can the cub’s potion actually make someone smarter? If so, I definitely want to try it!’ Captain Chris’s eyes lit up at the thought.

After a while, Scion stood up, his voice icy as he said, "We’ve delayed long enough. It’s time to complete our mission."

Vice Admiral De’an and the others instantly looked excited, smiling broadly. They placed their right hands over their chests and bowed respectfully. Then, in unison, they shouted, "Yes, sir!"

Before the officers set out, Arix, looking pitiful, was handed over by Vice Admiral De’an to another Empire soldier.

"Arix, we’re going to fight the insectoids next. You’re still a cub, so it’s too dangerous for you to come with us. Be good and wait for us in the rest area," Vice Admiral De’an gently coaxed.

Arix pouted, turning his head away in displeasure with a small humph.

Vice Admiral De’an was about to say more when Scion interrupted. "Arix, do you want to come to the front lines with me?" Scion asked casually.

Before Arix could answer, the Empire officers erupted in protest.

"Sir, I don’t think that would be a good idea. Arix is still too young. Children shouldn’t be exposed to such things," Vice Admiral De’an, slipping into his protective brother mode, argued.

"Yeah, if something happens, my cousin will kill me," Sunak added to the opposition.

"Little Arix is indeed still too young," even Captain Chris, who usually followed the admiral’s orders without question, hesitated this time.

Scion remained calm despite everyone’s concerns. He said lightly, "No need to worry, she’s stronger than all of you."

The Empire officers, feeling both speechless and slightly humiliated by the implication, stood in stunned silence.

As the Empire officers felt in utter silence, Arix almost couldn’t help laughing out.

Then, without hesitation, she leaped into Scion’s arms, exclaiming excitedly, "Can I come with you when you pilot the mecha later, sir?"

Scion glanced down at the eager youngster in his arms, a small smile playing on his lips. "Sure."

"Yeah! This is awesome. You’re so nice to me, even nicer than Drexel!" Arix shouted, her voice brimming with excitement and joy.

Scion kept smiling, gently patting Arix’s small head before carrying her outside.

Behind them, the Empire officers exchanged glances, shaking their heads or shrugging helplessly, and finally, they resigned themselves to following along.
