Reviews
This is such a good story.
But it doesn't deserve to be so high in the rankings. Like many comments, I agree that it should be somewhere in Top 10-20 for now.
On the other hand, it also doesn't deserve to be rated lower than 4 stars.
So now I can't decide whether to rate it lower than it should be to pull down its ranking, or rate it higher than it deserve to boost its rating.
I'm choosing to go with the later.
Now for the review, I'll put cons and pros of this story.
First, cons:
-After awakening his memories, the MC's personality changed too drastically. (This could be addressed further in the story, since the story is written in first person pov and Samael is an unreliable narrator).
-Some characters are made out to be so excessively smart that they feel cartoonish.
-Pace is slow
-I like the power system, but I don't like how it's executed.
Now for the pros:
-Because it's not too fast paced, we get to explore the nuances and philosophies of each character. Every character is so fleshed out that they just feel so real.
-Writing quality is on the upper end of the spectrum and comdey in this novel is just gold. I died laughing a few times, I kid you not.
-Action sequences are good, and while MC becomes smart out of nowhere, all his plans are thoroughly explained in details so there are no asspull.
-Samael's is such an asshole that I can't help but love him. Seriously, after Sunny from Shadow Slave, this is one MC that had surprised me the most with how layered he is. He may seem stupid and a coward at first glance, but the more you keep reading, the more you'll be surprised by how ruthless and cunning he can be, while still maintaining his easygoing douche persona.
At last, all I want to say is that..... Juliana is the best girl! Go team Juli! (I LOVED how Samael humbled her 🤌)
If you can get past the clichés it's actually a good novel. The start is a bit (a lot) rough. The writing is all over the place. But I really liked the story.
Why is it rated so highly? It's generic smut, not even a good one. Characters are mindlessly 1D, romance is soggy, action is confusing. If you have to read smut just read good ones like Vampire Wives or SHGS
Omg the mc is just sooooo edgy I can't with him. He's unreasonable and petty, and not even a good petty like Sunny. I just can't. It's an edgefest going on.
It took one day, ONE DAY, for the MC's sister to start taking his side. And the MC had been a douche all his life.
Why, just why, would his sister start trusting him again, enough to threaten their family's strongest guardian? Why?! The pacing is just too fast. The plot is blatantly stolen from novels like Demon Prince Goes to the Academy, the Novel's Extra, and other novels of sorts.
The MC starts showing MINIMAL changes in his personality, and everyone is ready to bend over for him. The story also suffers from "Oh, look at me, I'm so tragic" main character, which is just another no in my book.
Definitely not my cup of tea.
This had been one of my favourite novels for a WHILE. Both ml and fl are sooo shipable. Romance is simply top-notch. Plot is fine, twists are good, but the romance 🫰 Just chef's kiss.

The world in this novel is grimdark, with the fantasy elements shining throughout. The main character is relatable, and the tone is set from the very first chapter.
But I must say that the writing is HORRENDOUS. The prose is poor, and the flow is non-existent. The main character's name is repeated like a hundred times in one chapter!
It’s painful to read if you're accustomed to good writing quality.
I agree that web novels don't necessarily need to have excellent writing as long as the plot is engaging, but good prose is STILL essential.
Nevertheless, if you can get past the mediocre writing, the story itself is a gem.
The humor in this novel is GOLD. I agree it might not be for everyone, but I died laughing a few times while reading this.
Quicksave is SUCH an interesting protagonist, with many layers to his personality. He's actually very complex, and his journey is something to root for.
And oh my god, the ending is just perfect.
This novel really was... A perfect run.
