5/5 Mc is not overpowered, but he isn't weak either, what he lacks in strength he more than makes it up with ruthless cunning and strategies. The humor and comedy is gold, specially his "bite me and fck off" attitude, the romance is not focused, but there are plenty of problems due to certain characters. Each character got their own unique.... umm, delusion. The character interactions are hilarious and very realistic, had to stop reading a few time due to the laughs and giggles and MC's personality is extremely well done and loves to say and do a lot of his intrusive thoughts
5/5 The story development and the World Lore is very detailed and massive, the characters have realistic personalities, the Mc's personality is freaking hilarious at how his intrusive thoughts win most of the time even when he is trying his best to hold it in. the banter is witty, funny, and very realistic.
My honest opinion is that this is a very good novel to read, and it gets better as the story progresses and on a lot of chapter you will laugh hard due to the Mc's personality and banter with everyone
Where to begin... (read up until chapter 244 at the time of the review)
Story - at the start it all was going fine and was very interesting, but it sharply fell. What was supposed to be a zombie survival with a system instead changed into a power fantasy with gods, elf, dungeon raiding etc. Everything is changing way too fast... This turned from a survival system fantasy into a power fantasy system with a wish fulfillment edge lord story. Later on the author decides to just throw away the last 220 chapters and just regress the Mc 1 year before the apocalypse, basically restarting the novel into something else entirely.
Mc - The guy first started as a normal medical student that got infected with Aids by some jealous dude with a needle due to love drama. Now we learn he was a special military guy with a past, it's not really elaborated. The Mc is trying to be an Edge lord like during the whole story, which get cringe real fast. Acts all mysterious like just for the giggles even when he knows nothing, doesn't trust anyone for no reason given, acts like his way is the only right way to doing things, and he can't do anything wrong because he is right...
Powers - bruh... I can't even... this dude becomes a God after one dungeon.... his time powers make him invincible to all except god like beings, he can stop time, slow it to a crawl, make it, so nothing can hit him, got a hyperbolic time chamber, has no need for sleep etc. His limitation is his imagination, and if he gets hurt or caught off-guard is due to him being careless, and it also doesn't cost him ANYTHING to use or cast, his effin energy bar is just a decoration now... Here's one example, his stats are 200 points each meanwhile he fights and defeats demi god beings that got millions of points on each stat, like what the hell??? He hides his powers which is a normal thing but for some godforsaken reason, when someone ask about his powers he acts like its some secret he isn't allowed to share, dude.... You don't even know why u got it or how you got them. There's more, but ill leave it at that.
Characters - at first they had a purpose in the story and had a role, but now they are basically just pets to him to move the story, his brother is a muscle head idiot that does everything his brother's says, the girls are already in love with him and throwing themselves at him for no apparent reason. The first girl Caroline, for some unknown reason she was at his house in their guest room in a coma like state, while he was isolated in his room due to him being extremely sick and weaken. His parents legit left him alone for the day without even telling him there was a guest there, the very same girl related to the Aids incident. At the start of the story she was stronger than him, and she could help him fight and survive, her stats were like 3 times higher than his, but now all the girls are basically just there to have s*x with him.
To sum this all up:
This feels like I am reading a Chinese Manhua where i just gotta turn off my brain and ignore the plot holes and the inconsistencies. There's no danger for the Mc, he doesn't struggle, anything and anyone he meets he can defeat easily unless a literal God decide to kill him. He doesn't trust anyone and no reason was given, the girls are just there for him to sleep with him, the power scaling is broken, his skills are broken... the author should never work for a gaming company because he will break the game since he doesn't know how to balance the stats nor the skills he gains nor how to balance a skill level up. If he had just stuck with the zombie survival system theme it would have been an awesome story and later on with the right pacing he could have switched it into the power leveling and slowly add the elfs, gods, dungeons etc.
Also Those "DNO" chapters killed it for me...
5/5
The first 85 chapters of the novel is more or less like the prologue of the story, but after those chapters are done u slowly get to see a whole new different side of the novel, and we start to see a whole new different side to the Mc. After learning the truth about his missing memories, we finally learned why the firsts chapters felt scripted and generic, we knew nothing about him. Be patient in the earlier chapters, and you will be rewarded when it finally gets to the good parts.
This story is interesting. The pacing and development of the story is not bad by dragging the story with unnecessary filler or filled with chapters of useless monologues. The character development need some polish, it doesn't feel like they got personality or emotions, it's like I am watching a scripted game conversation. The power scaling needs some work too, like how can a 13-year-old with a knight rank of 2 stars beat a 20 something year old with a knight rank of 6 stars due to having better sword style.... like bruh
