The novel starts out pretty nice, it was really fresh experience for a system novel, especially transmigrator/reincarnation. First 300 or so chapters are really damn good but the more you read the more girlfriends/wifes he has and the more time allocated to comedy sitcoms and harem time whatever, which is not bad but if you wanna get on with the story and plot it's a waste of time. The MC does not actually have a goal for himself the entire series nor does he have any mighty aspirations, he mostly works as a mercenary for his wifes lol, get items they need, take out enemies, scheme against their enemies etc. He is quite literally a simp. But it's extremely exciting to see him scheme his enemies, especially in the beginning when he is a puny no cultivation human in a demon world. 99% of his achievements are hidden behind secret identities and he doesn't take credit for anything nor does he use his influence and military prowess to take over the world and crown himself Emperor. The fights are great, power system is allright, end-game plot is pretty generic for xianxias but it plays off better than usual cause of the power system and level of world dynamic. Overall if this novel had no harem and he had the aspirations of a ruler it could've easily been a 9/10 novel, with all the harem shit and his simp mentality I will have to lower it to a 7/10.
Just finished reading Eternal Sacred King (3380 chapters MTL included). The novel was pretty good overall, the only reason why I only gave it a 7/10 was due to it's length. If you read novels like NSHBA, Emperors Domination, Chaotic Sword God etc. it's like that, it's the unyielding, fighting against the heavens, rather break than bend main character. The plot of the series is very simple, the mc doesn't want to kneel against anyone, including the heavens. Doesn't matter if he will die, get tortured etc. he will not kneel. That's because of his unyielding spirit, the novel legit starts off with an 'immortal' forcing him to kneel and him a mortal without the ability to cultivate not wanting to kneel. Our main character here seems to be the only good person in the series for a long time. There is truly not any good hearted characters in this novel, many are straight up evil, others are neutral, others only draw the line at their sect etc. But our main character here is a person with a heart of gold, he has never treated people below his level with contempt, and he wanted to help all living beings. This is a long running goal in this series, helping all living beings and fighting against people who abuse the weak. Practically all top tier experts in this series see people as ants besides mc inner circle. The mc is overpowered the entire series in the same cultivation rank and does surmount realms, but he does get suppressed by way higher rank people from time to time. Our MC here does suffer his fair share of setbacks he doesn't have a smooth cultivation experience from start to finish but he does pull through every time. (these are not light setbacks either.) I liked this novel a lot but the higher world was too slow paced in my opinion. Author proved in the last 200 chapters that he does know how to write a novel in a low amount of chapters without making it feel rushed which feels off considering how slow paced the Higher World was.
I can't put in words how much I love this novel. Everything about it feels unreal, there are better novels out there in terms of writing but I can tell you right now.. this is the most entertaining novel EVER. Nothing will top this novel. Long Chen is also the greatest MC in all of chinese fantasy that I have yet to see, he is the complete package. Get ready for a ton of heaven defying, badass moments and breathtaking laughs.
Entertaining novel, better than your average system popcorn novel. Novel is fast paced and a lot of stuff happen in those 817 chapters. There are also a lot of moments where you will die laughing, it's very entertaining. The plot is very simple : The MC sneezed so he got exiled to an abandoned manor, he then remains there for the 90% of the series or well the 100 years, he then schemes a lot and eventually gets disciples and powerful items/techniques, he also acts tough in front of bigshots pretending to be a senior etc.
Achieves lots of feats, like creating new races, killing unkillable enemies, a new dao system, creating the heavenly dao, etc.
Solid novel, definitely worth reading.
