This novel, is in my opinion, one of Er Gen's best works.

The main character is written well, with great development over the course of the story. The power system is well crafted. What makes the novel shine the most are the side characters that the main character meets in his journey. It's not an exaggeration to say these characters make this novel as good as it is. However, the romance is kinda rough in classic Er Gen style (although it's definitely a tad bit better than in some of his other works).

This novel is one of the best cultivation novels out there. It reminds me of the concept of RTOC except for the drastically different mindset of the MC, who sees each life as a stepping stone for his goals. The MC reminds of Fang Yuan the way he plans things out optimally, and also with his ruthless nature. The world of this novel is unlike any cultivation novel, with a more horror/dystopian take. Overall really good and unique novel (also just realized that the first review is finally gone)
