I thought the same, it's a truly profound technique. Giants are still relevant to this day after all, and it all started with Kulas.

Probably the giant technique his old friend Kulas used. This does makes me wonder if Kelan is the reincarnation of that old friend since their names are similar.
Major spoilers for upcoming chapters, only read if you're rereading: This mini arc always kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I know it's just supposed to display the brutality of cultivation, but the fact we get introduced to so many characters, including one that Wei Wuyin is obviously very interested in, only to watch them die so uselessly is just peeving.
Its been almost 1000 chapters since i last read this, kinda weird to think about. Don't know if I even wanna pick it back up, my life is in such a different state atp.
It gets better on that end. At some point the Beast side will have much more going on, it just takes some time, plus they'll have way more interchanging aspects.

Novel is alright but it feels like reading two separate novels at the same time. The MCs alter ego the beast never interacts more than dropping off resources between the two. If the author redesigned the power share from the beast to the MC in another way you could split the novels in half and have two novels without any loss to the story. As a reader this causes disinterest when the perspectives change. When it changes perspective to the beast you know it's going to hunt something or find a resource and then the feedback gimmick happens to the MCs human body. It's predictable.
If the author could have kept the power creep on the beast to a minimum and included the beast as a sort of spirit pet, I feel there would have been a lot of narrative options but for now it's one dimensional and boring. At least by ch 173.
