He literally used the word "pawn" once or twice in the whole story up until now.
I don't get what tiktok or insta references you saw. There might be, they might've broke your immersion.
But "Author trys to make mc smart by lowering others' intelligence"? Where brother? Where?
If anything, the mc has admitted it time and time again that he's neither the "strongest" nor the "smartest" like the other schemers and manipulators and heroes/villians in the story.
His biggest intelligence feat up until now is manipulating two minor/major villians of a secret society , pitting them against each other, indirectly wrecking havoc in the city, all to take a divine sword. And even in that scenario, he admitted someone else could've done it better.
He doesn't even "manipulate" the main characters in a traditional sense, he offers them deals.
He *knows* he isn't the smartest.
Idk where you got that idea. The story might not be for you, but don't comment misinfo for others to see.

maybe it just me but dialogue is sometimes so cringy with all these tiktok and insta refrences and the overused of words like "pawn" which actually ruins my immersion.Author trys to make the mc smart by lowering others intellegence.Anyways i guess this itsnt for me
Nah, the best right now has to be Young Master's PoV. Even though it's only in its starting stage, it's already leagues better better than most extra stories rn.

Path of the Extra is, in my opinion, the best 'extra' right now and gets insane after the first volume with all the plot twists. Also mc hates harem.
Bad writing? The characters in this novel are more fleshed out than most new (or old) gen webnovels. Everyone is layered and 3dimensonal.
The way his father reacted here is CLEARLY intentional. He's not in his right mind toward Samael, and that had been established very early on, even when he got his memory back and he recounted his past.
In future chapters, you'll this issue addressed.
I've seen MANY novels with bad writing and bad characters, but this definitely isn't one of them.
It's clearly intentional, hinting at a deeper backstory judging by their interactions
It's like you guys leave your reading comprehension home while reading a novel.
Edit 1: (Dislike all you want, mfs. Smh, can't handle a logical argument so the only reasonable reaction is disliking the comment. Istg.)
Edit 2: Also, to those who are disliking, the op here read the following chapters and agreed I was right. So, fck you all!

I now understand what the comment on the home page meant about the powerful beings of the world acting like children, this is a reaction I would expect from my 5 year old cousin, not from a head of state who carries part of the world on his back.
I have read SS, RI, and LoTM. I'm not saying this is a masterpiece like them, but it's definitely one of the best in its genre. The mc is so layered, the more you read the more you see how deep his character is. He knows what he is doing is evil, yet continues to do it because he has to. His development is crazy good.
Other characters are also well fleshed out, especially all the "main cast." The prose is good. Fights are well-executed, and there is much more to the world that meets the eye.
I'm guessing you stopped after the Interview scene. The novel is just starting there.
Again, I'm not claiming it's a masterpiece. Comparing a random novel to something like LoTM or RI would be unfair. But this is by no means as bad as you made it out to be. It's only starting and yet it's already leagues better most of the original WNs.

then u have not read novel like lotm or ri SS and other really good novel to see this is mediocre and say this is one of the best u have see really?
Worldbuilding is fine, story is some of the best I've seen. All the powerful people act like real people — they have many sides to their personalities. Idk what you on about bro, but it's only you.

in my opinion its a waste of time, these all powerful people act like a child, story and worldbuilding is lackluster.

What a shitty excuse for bad writing
He wants to push her but not TOO Kuch
Hes scared of her going too mad while actively doing this to drive her more mad? Am i missing something
It's clearly intentional, hinting at a deeper backstory judging by their interactions

How, bro? How?! The mc was literally broken 💀💀 Anything Samael could've done, it would've been an asspull
Nah that's lame, Samael should've won by himself
Edit: I meant that if he was gonna win that way then I'd rather he lost
