I actually predict that this novel came before shadow slave and the author of shadow slave is actually the older brother of the author of this novel and stole the power ranking system from him while also attacking him and sending him into a coma, the author of this novel only woke up mere months ago and now is trying to write a novel to overthrow his older brother's work without violence!!!
The family coping with azriel's death like that is super unhealthy, and very selfish as well. If the true azriel had really died, would he have wanted his sister to train until she collapsed or shut herself off from the world? Would he have wanted his mother to lock herself in her room mourning over her son for 2 years? Would he have wanted his father to overwork until he was tired enough to sleep?
I don't think any of those coping methods are healthy, infact I don't think azriel would've wanted this. He wouldn't have wanted his sister to become a trainaholic or his father to become a workaholic or his mother to become a shut in who spent her time mourning. He would've wanted them to miss him or mourn for him sometimes sure but he would've wanted them to smile and live happily, to brave the world as they would've done.
Just my take on this chapter as a whole, but it's very realistic, I'm not saying it isn't. There's people who cope like this irl.⛷️
